To the "iterations" point, there are actually 4 Warhammer (Core) games that Games Workshop produce. Warhammer the Old World (which used be called Warhammer Fantasy Battle before the lore advanced and the game became what is now known as Warhammer Age of Sigmar), Warhammer Age of Sigmar (as mentioned). Warhammer The Horus Heresy (which is in the 40,000 universe but based in the years during the Horus Heresy which started in the 30,000's), and Warhammer 40,000. There are no "direct links" between the High Fantasy games and the Science Fantasy games. There is a lot that is hinted at, the race known as the Old Ones in 40,000 are similar to the Slann in the Warhammer Fantasy universe and people who equate the Realms of Chaos to the Warp... And to the Lieutenant point, the "proper" English pronunciation has an F sound in it, as the first part of the word Lieu comes from the old French Leuf and the pronunciation stuck from French to English (ass French had heavy influence on the early English language).
