I have a special treat for you. I got the opportunity to try two zero turn mowers. They are commercial grade mowers from my local Kioti dealer. I hope you enjoy my review of these awesome units. Let me know what you think.

Was so looking forward to seeing the kioti/scag zero- turn mow-off! . But was quickly disappointed when all you showed was time-lapse?? Would have been nice to hear and see them operate in real-time so as to get a feel for how it actually operated (engine sound, visual vibrations/bouncing, quality of cut, etc)
While I appreciate the work you put into this video...in the end, all we got was spec info and your opinion on running them.

😊Hi Floyd! Sorry to disappoint, although you were not the only one, I had others that wanted me to get deep in the weeds about the hydraulic system and other mechanical things way above my head. Honestly, it was a very difficult decision and I really did not notice much difference between the two mowers. I understand what you are saying about a true feel for each of them. Is available in twin stick steering or a single joystick leaving your left hand free to move branches out of the way. 25 hp Kawasaki engine, Around 8500.00 but I got it at 6500.00 as it was clearance priced as it was a leftover 2019 model. Has a pivoting front axle to follow the terrain better and the deck flips up vertically under the mower for cleaning and servicing the blades, nice for me me as I don't have to lay down to clean deck. Love it even tho the joystick is very sensitive only slight movements to steer it. See it on you tube videos under country Clipper. I traded in my John Deere zero turn that the deck was completely wore out.

I have the "pro-sumer" version of the Kioti which is a ZXR (for "residential) vs ZXC (for "commercial) SE with 60-inch deck. I have had it for about 5 months. It's for personal use only. I use it to mow about 3-acres of grass each week. I also take it out through the woods every few weeks to keep my paths clear. I originally cut them with chainsaw and a tractor with a rotary cutter, but that's overkill, now. The Kioti does a great job of munching through new growth brush trying to encroach on the trails.
My lawn has some pretty serious ruts in places, so the cushy seat is nice. There are VERY FEW differences between the ZXC and ZXR. The main differences are hydros (3200 residential, 3400 commercial) and engines (Kohler Confidant residential, Kohler Command Pro commercial). It's hard to find any other differences. Mine has the lights, the keypad, the hydro fans. Oh yeah, there is a difference in fuel capacity. Mine only has one tank for a 7.5 gallon capacity. I am fine with that. The thing is a beast. It hauls around it's own 900+ lbs along with my 280 lbs with authority. Tall grass doesn't bog it down unless I stupidly try to cut really low. The Kioti is a BEAST! It's built to take a beating. I mow pretty fast when I can. Some of my uneven, rutted ground hidden under the grass gives us a beating. I think I'll break before the mower does. If you are shopping for a ZTR, give Kioti a look.

Where I live many lawns are uneven. Steep sometimes, does it handle it ok?

Scag is the mower to buy if you are running a business and employees will use it. Scags are solid hard to break and uncomfortable. Ferris is my preferred mower. It's got a front suspension and they now come with a seat that is sprung and adjustable

I am trying to be like you! I got my zero turn today. I have been waiting 6 weeks for it to get off back order. I was literally built in the last 2-3 weeks. I didn't know Kioti even made one! Great video!

@@tractorrookie Well I just finished editing and scheduled it to publish at 8:00 am CDT. I bought a Bobcat. In my estimation it was the best mower for the money in the just below commercial space. It seems to be built like a commercial mower, but a couple grand cheaper. Are you changing the name of the channel? Scags & Dogs?

Fuel injection or carbs? Do they have individual hydro motors and pumps or is it a single hydro? What’s the skag deck thickness? Both need to accept a grass gobbler type catcher along with a block off plate (chute blocker). Run flats on the front?
Its always about engine and pumps. I didnt catch infor on pumps
Obviously for some that may be true. Now, three years later, I sell them part time. Actually hardly anyone inquires about those things. To each their own! Cheers!🇺🇸🚜

Kioti should’ve made it 52” deck. That is the industry standard (as is 32”,36”,48”,61”,72”). No commercial guy is going to buy a 54”.

@@tractorrookie haha, we’ll I cut my estate lawn a few rentals and a 2 acres( it’s 7 acres total) lake property I own. I use a Wright stander x. We have a 20 year old exmark Lazer z that we use around our farm to cut 4-5 acres, just put a motor in it last year. Hope your enjoying your Kioti compact, I’ve got a 2014 dk40 hst se. Last year of tier 3 emissions. It’s an absolute beast of a tractor (used to have a Ck35). The loader strength is absolutely ridiculous.

John Deere and Kubota ZTRs offer 54 inch decks. Probably others but I know those off the top of my head.

Hi Randy!!!😊 I actually talk about my decision in the next episode #143. I went with the Scag! I think either mower would have been a good pick. It was a financial decision mostly. True! Being my first zero turn experience, that data would have meant little to me. Now, years later, I still don’t know much about the mechanical differences. Once I bought a zero turn mower I will never go back to anything else. Cut my mowing time in half on my 6 acres.

Hi Mike. Great video. I like the Kioti cos it matches your tractor. The Scag is good as it has the feature to collect the clippings. It is a decision! I drove ours twice and crashed it twice so I'm not allowed to cut the grass anymore HURRAY!!!! Lol. Take care Mike xxx
