Yakuza: Dead Souls is an action-adventure survival horror video game, developed and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3. The game is the sixth installment in the Yakuza series. The game was originally scheduled for release in Japan on March 17, 2011 two days after the release of Yakuza 4 in North America; however, after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, the release was indefinitely delayed. A new release date, setting the game's release for June 9, was announced on April 7. The game was also released in North America and Europe by Sega in March 2012

This game isn't that great but you have to love the energy this game has for all of the main characters. It's good stuff

Oh, nice, you have all of them. This is one of my favourite games. Sort of confuses me when people don't 'get' it , even Yakuza fans.
It was just the gameplay, they shoulda made the guns secondary to melee, like DMC, that was the only problem. The story itself is pretty fun and silly, and it has the best playable roster of any Yakuza game ever.
@@anotherunreliablenarrator I love everything about this game. Except some of the hostess questions. I really enjoyed the way they did the guns and I legitimately don't understand why people need them to function like a pure shooter to be enjoyable. I think of its gameplay more like Dead Rising than a shooter. It's more about spacing than anything.
@@Gaff. yeah, and it's not canon either, so it's supposed to be cheesy, goofy, and funny. besides, out of any group of characters you'd want by your side in a zombie apocalypse, would you rather have the whackos in L4D, L4D2, or these gents? yeah, i'd take badass gun-wielding, differentiating level of sanity Yakuza anyday.

20. Back on the Rooftop
Everybody arrives at the rooftop. Lily is glad Haruka is okay. Suddenly Kanai also appears behind her and throws a knife at her and impales the back of her head killing her. She dies in her boyfriend’s arms and Akiyama cries for her. Haruka is shocked about Lily. Kiryu hugs Akiyama and comforts him and tells him that they still have to work together and fight back against Kanai.

Shun Akiyama (Karl Yune) the film’s main protagonist is a Sky Finance loan officer whose parents and four siblings have been killed by a yakuza leader Kanai (Anthony Wong) 20 years ago. He has collection day and his American girlfriend Lily (Becky Thompson) one of the film’s two deuteragonists is arriving soon and friend Kido (Robbie Motai) who has his boss killed. He meets Kazuma Kiryu (Rick Yune) one of the film’s two deuteragonists and his 9-year-old daughter Haruka (Danica Lee) the film’s tritagonist and an American man Mack (Eugene Byrd). While Haruka and Akiyama arrive to the junkyard, they find old stuff they can use. Just then, Kanai’s henchmen arrive and kidnaps Haruka and take her back to their apartment building despite she pleads them to let her go and screams leaving Akiyama behind.

Kanai: Die! (He shoots and kills Manami)
Shun Manami: (gasps)
Kanai: Give me the coin!
Young Shun Akiyama: No way! I’m gonna go!
Kanai: Get him!
(Akiyama tries to escape but Kanai’s henchmen chase him. Luckily before something can happen, Kiryu rescues and befriends him just in time)
Young Kazuma Kiryu: I need backup now please!
Young Shun Akiyama: Someone killed my family while we were sleeping! (He attacks and knocks down Kanai and his henchmen while Kiryu calls the police on Kanai and his henchmen)
(The police arrives and arrests Kanai and his henchmen)
Young Kazuma Kiryu: Are you okay?
Young Shun Akiyama: Yes, but someone killed my family.
Young Kazuma Kiryu: I’ve never seen you before. I’m Kiryu, what’s your name?
Young Shun Akiyama: My name is Akiyama.
Young Kazuma Kiryu: Akiyama, what happened?
Young Shun Akiyama: He murdered my family, Kiryu. He killed my mom, my dad, my sisters and my brother. Look. (He pulls out his yellow coin charm with Kiryu’s face on it from his pants pocket)
Young Kazuma Kiryu: What is it?
Young Shun Akiyama: The coin with your face on it. See? Kanai wanted to take it, but I refused to give it to him.
Young Kazuma Kiryu: You did the right thing. Come on, let’s do something about this. (He escorts Akiyama to his apartment to safety)
(The next day, in Kiryu’s apartment, Akiyama sits on Kiryu’s bed while Kiryu creates a shiny yellow coin charm with his face on it into a necklace matching its color)
Young Shun Akiyama: Kiryu, Kanai killed my family and blamed it on me but my family and I haven’t done anything wrong.
Young Kazuma Kiryu: I know. Nobody did.
Young Shun Akiyama: Last week, my family and I were on vacation in Hawaii, and yesterday, we went on a camping trip before my family was killed by someone.
Young Kazuma Kiryu: Yeah. But look, it’s all finished. (He is finished with the yellow coin charm with Kiryu’s face on a shiny yellow necklace and gives it to Akiyama as a gift placing it on him)
Young Shun Akiyama: Thanks, Kiryu. (He is pleased with his new necklace keeping it forever and hugs Kiryu)
Young Kazuma Kiryu: Let’s get a move on. (They head out of Kiryu’s home)
9. Haruka
Kiryu’s 9-year-old daughter Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu (child singer, Wonder Pets star and film newbie Danica Lee) runs home from school and hugs her father.
First line: “Dad! Dad! Daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy!” - Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu
Last line: “Bye, Haruka!” - Orphan kids

Kazuma Kiryu: Hi, sweetheart, what took you so long?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: I was on my field trip with my class.
Kazuma Kiryu: Wow, sweetie, sounds like you had fun.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Who is he, dad?
Kazuma Kiryu: That’s Akiyama. He works at Sky Finance. Why don’t you go introduce yourself to him while I cook dinner, Haruka? I’ll call you when dinner is ready.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Okay. (laughs) (She runs to Akiyama) Hi! My name is Haruka.
Shun Akiyama: I’m Shun Akiyama from Sky Finance.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: I’ve never seen you before.
4. Collection Day
20 years later, Akiyama (Karl Yune) now works in Sky Finance. He has always worn his yellow circular charm with Kiryu’s face on his yellow necklace ever since he was a 10-year-old child. He is finished washing up and puts on his clothes (a red and white striped jacket, black dress shirt a pair of black slack pants and chukka boots) and expensive looking watch. His assistant Hana (Brianna Wu) yells at him to hurry up.
First line: “Akiyama-san, hurry up, your food’s getting cold!” - Hana
Last line: “Collection day is over and out.” - Shun Akiyama
Song featured: “Better Forever” by David Choi (heard as first verse, first pre-chorus, first chorus, second verse, second pre chorus and second chorus on the radio when Akiyama washes up and is getting dressed)
(20 years later, Akiyama now works in Sky Finance he opened. He rubs his eyes, neatens his clothes and brushes his hair)
Hana: Akiyama-san, hurry up, your food’s getting cold!
Shun Akiyama: Sorry, I was just getting ready. (He eats his breakfast)
Hana: And it’s collection day! I don’t want you smelling like this! You need to wash up!
Shun Akiyama: I will. (He takes off his clothes and washes himself up and then putting back on his clothes after turning on the radio)

21. The Yakuza Rampage Begins
First line: “Alright, boys, but how can we defeat our enemy?” - Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu
Last lines: “Kiryu? Sh*t! That can’t be happening again!” - Shun Akiyama (after calling his friend only to find a yakuza), “The rampage has begun! You’ll never save him now!” - Kanai (kidnapping Kiryu muffling his screams after the new yakuzas start a rampage), “What the h*ll are you doing?! LET ME GO!!!!! (Screaming) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” - Kazuma Kiryu (kidnapped by Kanai and the yakuza punks and taken back to their new hideout, leaving his daughter and fellow men behind), “DADDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!” - Haruka Sawamura
16. Rooftop Escape
The next morning after the Princess League, Haruka rushes to find Akiyama but she learns bad news that he has been kidnapped last night. Meanwhile Akiyama awakens and finds himself tied up to a bed and insults Kanai as the “ugliest god**** man ever that’s ever happened”. He breaks open the ropes and quickly escapes the henchmen. He is then reunited with his girlfriend, the other men and Haruka.
First line: “Akiyama? Akiyama, where are you?!” - Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu
“Now where’s the candy?!” - Shun Akiyama
22. Standoff
First line: “How the h*ll did they get here?!” - Yakuza member
Last line: “Yeah, guys, let’s go, we’ve got some fighting stuff to do!” - Shun Akiyama
Yakuza member: How the h*ll did they get here?
Haruka Sawamura: Dad’s been taken away from me.
Mack: We have to do something before things are out of control!
Shun Akiyama: Haruka’s right, they took Kiryu, but we must rescue him and stop this rampage.
Haruka Sawamura: Right, let’s go!
(Meanwhile, in Kanai’s new hideout, Kiryu is tied up and refuses to talk to Kanai’s yakuza. He yells at Kanai that there is no way he’s gonna let this happen)
Kanai: Good work, guys. Kiryu, we are gonna kill you for not letting us kill your daughter.
Kazuma Kiryu: There’s no way I’m letting this happen! You guys don’t understand anything about this situation right now, but she’s right, you’re all the ugliest godd*mn men that have ever lived, and you f*cking know it, don’t you?!
Kanai: (growling in frustration) (gasps) This ends now! (This causes Kiryu to get into an angry glare at him)
Kazuma Kiryu: Hmph!
(Meanwhile, Akiyama and his fellow men and Haruka arrive at Kanai’s hideout)
Mack: What’s that noise?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Isn’t there any other way?
Shun Akiyama: No, I don’t hear anything.
Mack: What?! What do you two mean you don’t hear anything?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: We got out of the henchmen’s apartment, didn’t we?
Shun Akiyama: Yeah.
Kanai: Well, well, well if it is the loan office guy.
Kazuma Kiryu: Guys? (Akiyama cuts the rope off Kiryu’s hands that were tied up with it)
Shun Akiyama: Kiryu!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Daddy!
Kazuma Kiryu: Akiyama! Haruka-sweetheart!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Kanai, this is over! We have to fight you and stop this rampage! This is what you get for kidnapping me!
Kazuma Kiryu: My daughter is right! This is what you get for kidnapping me too! You cannot start the rampage ever again!
Kido: You messed it up!
Kanai: What the h*ll is wrong with all of you?!
Shun Akiyama: You’ve gotta stop kidnapping people! You’re the one that doesn’t prove anything!
Mack: Yeah, and you’re going down right now! No one has to be afraid of you anymore even if that happens to us sometimes!
(The standoff between the heroes and Kanai is on)
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Daddy, get the gun!
Kazuma Kiryu: Give me a break, okay, sweetheart? I’m trying! (He tries to get the gun but it is too far away)
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Well try harder!
Shun Akiyama: I got it. (He grabs the gun)
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Akiyama-san, you got the gun!
Shun Akiyama: Good guys don’t get caught.
Kanai: Get them! (He finds out his henchmen were killed) Dam* it!
Saejima: How are we supposed to fight him now?!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: There must be a way to do it.
Kazuma Kiryu: We can knock him off the rooftop!
Shun Akiyama: Yeah, guys, let’s go, we’ve got some fighting stuff to do!
15. Princess League and the Date
First line: “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Hello and welcome to Princess League!” - Concert announcer
Last line: “No, please! Let me go!” - Shun Akiyama (kidnapped by Kanai’s henchmen)
Concert announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Kamurocho is proud to present, it’s the Princess League!
Guard: (handing out show bills to the crowd) Enjoy your evening of show reverie, citizen.
Kazuma Kiryu: Thank you.
(Mack is eating his crackers when he is caught by the guard with the “No food or beverages in the theater” sign)
Guard: Hey! No food or beverages in the theater! (Another guard takes the crackers away from Mack)
Mack: Hey! (He then goes the audience)
19. Rescuing Haruka
Akiyama and his friends rush to Kanai’s apartment building. Haruka is tied up to the table and insults Kanai as the “ugliest man that’s ever lived” causing one of his henchmen to threaten her with a knife. She screams for help which Akiyama hears. Kanai and his henchmen try to kill her, but luckily Akiyama is too quick and kicks open the door. He shoots and kills one henchman, knocks Kanai unconscious, unties Haruka and rescues her just in time while his girlfriend and the other hero men defeat and kill the other of Kanai’s henchmen despite one escaping. Everybody leaves Kanai’s apartment building behind.
First line: “Okay where to?” - Kido
Last line: “Don’t worry, Akiyama-san, I will.” - Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu
(In the car, the gang are off to Kanai’s apartment to rescue Haruka. When they arrive and get out of the car, they arrive to Kanai’s place and rescue Haruka)
Kido: Okay, where to?
Shun Akiyama: We’ve got to get to Kanai’s place and rescue Haruka. She was kidnapped by him and his henchmen, we have to get her back!
Mack: How are we gonna get the girl back? How?
Shun Akiyama: Mack, Lily, Kido, Arai, Tajimara, Saejima, you guys are all gonna defeat and the bad guy’s henchmen. Kiryu and I’ll go and rescue the 9-year-old girl. She needs us!
(Meanwhile, Haruka is tied up to the table and refuses to die. She insults Kanai as the “ugliest man that’s ever lived”. This causes Kanai and his henchmen to try to finish her off, but Akiyama is too quick for them. He kicks the door open and shoots and kills one henchman and knocks Kanai unconscious causing the other henchmen to run out the kicked open door. Akiyama hears Haruka screaming and rescues her. They leave the dining room table behind. )
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: (whimpering)
Kanai: Hush now, girl. No more screaming, no more running. It’s time to die.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: No! I will not die! You can’t kill me and you can’t take my life away!
Kanai: (continuing) Pretty soon, our worries will be over and your life will be ours forever.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: (insulting Kanai) I said no and I mean no! It doesn’t matter how many lives you’ve taken! You sold your soul! You’re the ugliest man that’s ever lived, and you know it!
Kanai: (gasps) You’re next!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: (glaring at Kanai angrily) Hmph! (groans)
Kanai: Finish her!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: (screaming) Help! Help! Help me!
Help! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!
Kazuma Kiryu: I heard my daughter screaming.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: (screaming) Help! Help! Somebody help me! Help me! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH! Somebody help me! (This causes Akiyama to untie her from the table and rescue her)
Shun Akiyama: Don’t worry, Haruka, we’ve got it all under control! (He unties and rescues Haruka) I got you!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Akiyama-san!
Shun Akiyama: Haruka, are you okay?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Yes, I am. Now can we please go?
Shun Akiyama: Let’s go!
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Alright, okay! (They both leave the dining room table behind and return to Kiryu)
Shun Akiyama: Kiryu-san! (He hugs his friend)
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Daddy! (She hugs her father)
Kazuma Kiryu: Sweetie, you’re okay. I was so worried about you.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Akiyama rescued me.
Kazuma Kiryu: Akiyama, you rescued my daughter.
Shun Akiyama: Good guys don’t get caught. Let’s go and get the h*ll out of here. (The three escape to the others)
(The others attack and kill Kanai’s henchmen. Saejima decapitates one henchman with a Chinese sword, Lily stabs one henchman in the head with a knife, Kido impales one henchman with a long sword, Mack attacks and kills the other one and the others attack and kill the other henchmen. However one henchman survives and escapes and hides in the closet)
Surviving henchman: (gasps) (whimpers) (screaming) (He goes in the closet and hides there)
(Akiyama and his friends and Haruka escape Kanai’s place)
Mack: Are you okay?
Kido: Where have you been?
Saejima: We were so worried about you.
Lily Senna: What happened?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Akiyama rescued me.
Lily Senna: Yeah. (She kisses and hugs her boyfriend Akiyama for rescuing Haruka)
Shun Akiyama: Haruka, stay…….. together.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Don’t worry, Akiyama-san, I will. (Everyone escapes Kanai’s place. However, Kanai awakens and realizes his henchmen are dead)

23. The Rampage is Interrupted
Everybody is ready for the final battle. Haruka and the boys fight back Kanai, interrupting the rampage, and Kazuma tries to shoot Kanai but Kanai grabs him. Luckily before Kanai can kill him, Akiyama shoots and kills Kanai, ending the battle. Haruka cheers for Akiyama. Kiryu thanks Akiyama for saving his life and his daughter’s life too. The next day, the hero men and the girl are holding Akiyama’s girlfriend Lily’s funeral. Mack’s vacation has come to a close and it is time for him to head home. Akiyama and his pals say goodbye as Mack heads to his USA home. Sometime later, Akiyama and the other hero men and Haruka are dressed up and they are all ready for the banquet. Hana tells Akiyama to be back on time. While on the way to the mansion for a sleepover and a banquet, Akiyama and Haruka discuss with Kiryu that good guys don’t get caught. Akiyama jokes that maybe a yakuza does. Haruka giggles and smiles but she doesn’t think it is funny. Akiyama apologizes claiming he was just kidding and laughs. The movie ends with Haruka just smiling at him.

Kazuma Kiryu: Are you okay, sweetie?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: I sure am, dad, but I couldn’t have survived if it wasn’t for Akiyama who saved my life.
Kazuma Kiryu: Akiyama, are you okay?
Shun Akiyama: Yeah I think so.
Kazuma Kiryu: You saved my life and my daughter’s life.
Shun Akiyama: I had to.
Saejima: You did the right thing!

(The next day, the men and a girl hold Akiyama’s girlfriend’s funeral and Mack’s vacation is over and it’s time for Mack to head home to the USA)

Mack: No, I can’t, I have to head home because I have a plane to catch.

Mack: Yes. Don’t worry, guys, we will always be best friends.
Shun Akiyama: Yeah.
Kazuma Kiryu: Alright.
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Yes.

Kido: Yeah!
Arai: Excellent!
Mack: Very well! I’ll see you guys again soon! Thank you! (He heads to the airport to his American home.)

(Meanwhile in the plane going to his American home, Mack listens to his music on his iPod)
Mack: That was the best vacation time I have ever went on. (He puts on his earplugs and listens to his music on his iPod)

(One week later, Akiyama gets dressed in his white dress shirt, black dress shoes and black dress suit retaining his watch and necklace. He is called by Hana to be back at Sky Finance on time after the sleepover and a banquet. The other men are dressed in suits and shirts and Haruka is dressed in a purple dress.)
Hana: Akiyama-san, are you okay? I was so scared and worried about you.
Shun Akiyama: Yeah, I stopped the rampage last week.
Hana: I knew you did. There’s your ride! See will you soon!
Shun Akiyama: Okay, bye! (He heads out the door)
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: So, daddy, what’s taking him so long?
Kazuma Kiryu: He got dressed on time, huh?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Okay, dad.
Saejima, Tajimara, Kido and Arai: Ready?
Haruka Sawamura-Kiryu: Yeah.
Shun Akiyama: Yes.
Kazuma Kiryu: Ready!
Kido: Good! We’re ready!

really wish they'd completely remake this game. have it play more like Resident Evil or Dead Rising. I love zombies and I love Yakuza, having the two put together is kinda awesome but they did it kinda poorly.
