Question how do mechanics afford to have all of these nice tools and toolboxes and still afford to pay their bills and live in a decent home with nice cars ? The most that they get paid is $30-$40 from what Ive heard and they average 80-90 flag hours bi weekly that’s like $4000+ a month after taxes why do mechanics get underpaid when they have to learn so much to know how to work on cars and the amount of money that’s invested on tools this job requires a lot and I don’t think the pay is justifiable when you got fast food managers making $25+ an hour other trades like hvac, electricians and such getting over $30+ an hour in other to get paid more as an automotive technician you have to have years of experience and be able to fix and diagnose everything so you can make over $100k a year do people who work on cars and don’t make 6 figures a year do this because they like working on cars and don’t mind getting underpaid because it gets repetitive and tiring and frustrating working on cars when ur trying to flag your own hours that to me doesn’t seem enjoyable or worth being an automotive technician

Snap on soldering iron is the best! .. you have to hold down the trigger for a second or two , for it to light and heat up! . If you are too quick, it does not turn on properly!
