This is what I found for router bits getting started. Buy a good standard router bit kit with variety. Not complete cheap junk but not the greatest. When one breaks buy a bits and bits (or equivalent) router bit. It will allow you to figure out what you use and what you don't . You'll have the decent ones for periodic specialty use and the ones you use most often will be the best of the best. Not exactly what Jay recommends but it's works well for me.
Never thought about upgrading the collet. Great idea!
Really fantastic tips there, Jay! Thanks a lot for the video! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
The rod is carbide? Specific source?
Great job explaining this Jay. Go Wings
Lots of good info here.. Thanks man!
Does Bits & Bits actually manufacture or do they buy/coat/resell bits?
Both.
@@JayBates2 Thank you. I didn't know that.
We manufacture all of our spiral bits, the only bits we do not manufacture are the Whiteside bits that we offer.
Very informative video, Jay. You taught me a lot here, my friend, and you convinced me about Bits & Bits a long time ago. I use nothing but.
Thanks for sharing and teaching. Felix
Great and informative video as always, Jay! I appreciate when you do these kinds of videos!
sorry for you loss last night. Caps are #1
Would like to see part 2.. like, where is your limits to switching palm router to bigger router etc..
When the palm router struggles.
How often do you clean the bits and table saw blades? Also, is there any fear of washing away the Astra coating?
To answer the washing question, no there is no worry of washing off the astra coating. You can use pretty anything to wash your bits with no worry of washing it off the cutting edges.
