Woah :0 10 minutes ago! Perfect timing! I'm thinking about adopting a possibility low content wolfdog right now :) current owners say he's GSD/St.Bernard/Wolf, 1 year and 100lbs already (and slightly under weight) he doesn't really look anything like a wolfdog, and I even doubt he is at all, but I love him already anyway lol 😂
I’m actually posting part two right now if you want to watch and get a little more insight. That mixture it is pretty unlikely he’s any wolf at all. Misrepresentation is a really big issue and why I made these videos. Without an embark dna test I wouldn’t go just solely off what the owners say as most owners these days don’t know what they’re looking at or research any further. I hope whatever he is it works out for you! 🙏🏼✨
Very interesting video, I have adopted a dog that I think may have some mix with a wolfdog it's being kind of complicated to deal with her but I want to learn more about their personality
As always I recommend ordering an Embark Vet test kit and testing her to find out what breeds exactly she has in her. It has become a new trend for people to assume difficult or challenging behaviors in dogs mean they must be part wolf. And more often than not that is not the case. Wolfdogs are illegal in many places and this misconception can be dangerous to wolfdogs and regular dogs alike. It’s always great to learn about other breeds, but there is only one way to know what she actually is and that’s through Embark, which is the only dna test out right now that is accurate for tracking wolf dna. Then you can learn about the breeds that do make up her genetics and see how that may be driving any of her behaviors.
Today’s wolfdogs are multigenerational meaning they will be a certain % gray wolf mixed with multiple dog breeds like husky/gsd/malamute/Samoyed etc. There are no 50/50 wolf/dog mixes and that label is often used on misrepresented animals. But in regards to what you’re asking yes this applies.
White Water WolfDogs I said there are no 50 wolf 50 dog from a full blooded wolf parent and a full blooded dog parent in the US bc first generation wolfdogs are no longer bred due to pure wolf ownership being illegal and bc it’s also not necessary or desireable. Saaya’s father is 50% wolf but he is also gsd, malamute, and husky. Not just one dog breed. Also if you have nothing constructive to say- feel free to leave my page. I educate on these animals for a living so it’s not the smartest thing to come here trying to make a correction that isn’t needed or applicable.

Does this apply to grey wolf/husky mix?
