Mmm, the wall removes lots of the speed on the ball, so he doesn't need topspin to clear the net without going "outside" the court. If anything training with these walls will make you develop a very good flat shot since you would need a massive force in your swing to reach the end of the court when the balls bounces back.

he's also adjusting to the wall first couple of shots are lower and bounce short he then starts to hit higher, harder and with more spin. his average was 2x net height but average don't paint the whole picture of your hitting a long shot cross court then you need more net clearance, when you're hitting short angles , along the line, or flatter/faster shots, less net clearance. if you hit always the same type of shots it's much easier for the opponent to adjust

I hit like the last 2 FHs off both sides using a Head Prestige 93 w/ 4G @ 51lbs against same kind of concrete wall I gather onlookers from the repeated explosions of 20 plus shots at a time for almost an hour but on the court lucky there is a backfence!. Tennis is easily the most demanding most complicated of all sports in terms of technique, ability, stamina, dedication, schedule, mental focus and sadly the most under-payed for the effort the majority put in. Most players out of the top 80 have it tough thanks to ATP monopoly and introducing slow courts and balls in 2001. Fed would have 30+ slams in pre 2001 conditions just like at 19 when he beat Sampras at wimby 2001.

Federer is easily the most naturally gifted player of all time with the most complete arsenal HOWEVER the GOAT is Novak. Results are all that matter.

Weird techinic with the backhand. Forehand is ok, but more practices wouldn't hurt. I strongly recommend getting a teacher, you'll improve a lot.

Not relating at all… but I have established myself as a national level senior player at this point. Started 30 years ago. 63 now, been ranked #3 in nation. NEVER had a lesson. Self taught. But what I did do is what you see right there. I’ve hit hundreds of thousands of balls against the wall. It’s where I started, it’s where I go, and I still do it today. It’s still the best practice. You need a good wall /backboard. Of course I started against the side of a building 35 yrs ago

He doesn't change grip between forehand and backhand. Top level players know when you gonna slice or topspin your backhand cuz open vs closed grip change. But not Federer. Now go try hitting a eastern topspin one-handed backhand.

The only one who can beat the wall. At the end of this point the wall put the ball out.
