I don't know of any other steel drum player that has taken the limelight as an iconic soloist on the instrument. He always has a great rhythm section usually with a five string bass player or fretless. That gal on the piano is freakin' talented as hell. When I think of happy cheerful uplifting music, I dial up Andy Narell!
I have enjoyed every song published from this concert and am still mesmerized by the talent and voice of Ms Janysett.. Her solos are some of the most moving piano I’ve ever heard... thank you for sharing this beauty with us all!!!
Pan‼️ Andy is one of the pre-eminent pannist in the world today. I have had the pleasure of meeting him in Trinidad years ago and here at the Cotton Club, two different contexts, the former in the pan orchestra the other here as a soloist, one of the the perks of being in Japan; the Japanese are more relaxed about the artists mingling with friends or the audiences. This fellow is doing an effective job of bringing this instrument to greater acclaim and performing at the Cotton Club in Tokyo is a clear endorsement. Come back!
It amazes me how Andy Narell conjures up such glorious sounds from the steel pan coupled with the lovely compositions he writes - his is a special talent .
He did not write the music you are listening too - that mucus was written and created by Lord Kitchen - a black man in Port of Spain Trinidad. Please stop misleading people- thank you !!!
@@johnlee7934 I intended to write the word music - he did not “ conjure” such glorious sound - he did not tune the pan nor did he create the music - the music was created by a 🇹🇹 Trinidadian Composer and Calypsonian pen name is Lord Kitchener - stop making claims about things you know very little about- I suggest if you wish to learn, travel to Trinidad and watch and listen to Steel Band Panorama - Sir!!!

Andy is a great pannist /musician. I met him playing in phase2pangroove back in 86 he might not remember me he was jamming I music showing some players his skill on a double seconds. Anyway one love Andy. I also play professionally but on a smaller level. Peace Gary moustache.
I am so happy to say, Sesame Street (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12) brought me here, and my life has improved immensely for it. Thierry Fanfant really amazed me, unexpectedly, and no need to mention everyone else performing.
