White uniforms in hot weather good idea, plus good contrast against green field. I would add white swirls to blue podiums for more contrast. Trombones kicked it. Ending a song without a cymbal crash is refreshing. A few instruments seemed slightly out of tune, but overall, enjoyed this show. Trumpets, for high notes, try to come in above the note... better chance it will slot where you want it. Former lead trumpet in my college days. Thanks for sharing.
The members are talented across the board. There are great moments, but the transition sometimes visually and musically falls short, so the show feels a bit disjointed. These kids are performing their best, but the vehicle is not designed to convey what VIBE is. Please give me back your design staff for 2014-2019 please.
Show has a lot of potential and come August it's going to be one of the really good ones. Couple bad moments including an out of tune (sharp tubas?) at 6:18 followed by a true WTF anemic lead sops, poor release in a lower sop (I think ) at 9:23 an otherwise beautiful chord where the brass have that moment alone, at 10:00 too much space in between those fast runs and a bit of dragging causing as ensemble tear, dirt in drums at 11:25. It's basically still June so all this will be fixed and the fundamentals are strong.
@@briantuma1502 design paradigm changed, that perc staff (Mike Jackson, Kevin Shah) was responsible for a lot of the show design and concept, much of that team is still around but with several core components leaving, it’s a different vibe for sure
Ahh... the Phoenix show. Like showing people your naked baby pictures. I don't think any one of us felt too good coming off that field that night, but we certainly cleaned a lot after that. The show was what it was, but we never gave up. At least that's what I believe.
i feel like all shows this year from corps just don’t feel like dci. everything feels like something you’d see from a high school band. 2019 was the last authentically felt dci season imo. all said and done, i have no clue how BD is 1st so far. should be 3rd max.
Sun devil stadium, natural grass and im pretty sure the groundskeeper just retired. Dying in the off-season for natural grass fields is pretty common for colleges
@@trap4dafu2k0fit I mean I don't see why you have to bring generation into it, it's probably a university choice because replanting it is way cheaper than maintaining it in Arizona hear in the middle of the summer. In this case, probably more of an older generation deciscion 😗

I wasn’t thrilled with 2019 early and it ended up being one of my favorite shows. I have to see about this one. Missing Michael Jackson drum book.
Crown 2023 has MJ back in DCI writing. Very excited for what he’s going to do.

Because BD looks and sounds like BD, and they're clean. They stayed consistent when nobody else did. They're easily the best out right now
