@@petercole8798 Business class is coming soon! I took multiple rides in business class while traveling in the northeast, so it's only a matter of time before I get those out.
Real shame about the cafe car. It’s weird that it didn’t open until Haverhill, it normally opens after all tickets have been collected/Business Class passengers have been attended to. That normally happens by Anderson/Woburn at the latest. The menu is different than the rest of the Amtrak system and in my opinion is better at both value and quality.
I thought it opened around there too, but I guess not. As for the menu, the options are great, and with the new changes Amtrak's has made, I'm sure it's even better.
@@LonestarTrips The Downeaster is actually insulated from the new menu changes because of Amtrak's contract with NNEPRA. It has a unique menu with New England cuisine, local craft beers, and Pepsi products. The food is so much better and so much cheaper than on other Amtrak trains. I'm not sure why your trip had the typical Amtrak menu.
Unfortunately the scheduling of riding all the way to Maine didn’t work out. I was running a tight ship while in the northeast, and in order to make my connection heading back south out of Boston, I had to end the journey in Haverhill.
Same, I live in Maine and have never been on a train or to Boston. Trying to get an idea on price range, which option for me and my spouse of 25 years this June. Were about to be empty nesters and havent had a childfree vacation since we had kids. Sooo I'd love to see Salam and the aquarium!
Haha thanks! Although I'll be completely honest, I got told off about pronouncing it wrong in the teaser from the previous video, so I made sure to get it right here.
The voice over blew off the Anderson/Woburn stop .... twice! For food service NextDine of Massachusetts is contracted by the Maine owner of the trains. Amtrak operates. Inbound, the cafe was opened until Anderson Woburn. The Ventura seats have been reviewed last year on the Chicago to St. Louis where there in use.
Regarding Anderson/Woburn, I was going based on what I had in my footage, and the fact that the sign in Boston made no mention of Woburn as a station stop. In hind sight I think we did stop there, but it wasn't in the footage anywhere, so I just forgot about it.
We've got a ride on a Thalys high speed train from Rotterdam to Amsterdam, a 2 Day trip on the Texas Eagle, some puddle jumping across the Serengeti in Tanzania, and I just booked tickets for TWO journeys on the Caledonian Sleeper! The issue is that all of the really cool videos take a lot of time to edit, time I currently don't have, so I'm forced to push them back until I can find the time to get it all put together.
It does, I just forgot it did as I didn't have it in the footage that we stopped there, and the sign in Boston didn't have it listed, so I assumed we weren't going to stop there.
Amtrak's version of Siemen's Venture coaches lack the pizzazz of similar coaches on Brightline trains. Amtrak interiors are sterile and unattractive and look more like commuter cars. The "Palmetto" once had roomy Amfleet II coaches with leg rests, but I guess it will be downgraded to the new and un-improved Ventures. Actually its hard for me to get excited about anything to do with Amtrak because I just returned from Germany where I was in Railroad Heaven less than a month ago.
Let’s see the Maine train please
Downeaster splits from from the Lowell Line to the Haverhill Line @ Wilmington
Excellent job great narrator. Very informative. A+. ENJOY THE RIDE.
Thanks for the support! It really makes my day to hear that people enjoy the content.
@@LonestarTrips try BUSSINESS class next time.

Nice video! Did you take the commuter rail back to Boston from Haverhill, or did you wait for the next south bound Amtrak?🤔
Thanks! I took the commuter rail back down south, which of course there will be a video on.
@@LonestarTrips cant wait!
Awesome video! Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks! I'm so glad you enjoyed!
I hope in the future they can connect both North and South stations
That was supposed to happen during the big dig. But here we are just like Philadelphia prior to the center city tunnel.
You’ll have to take the orange line from Back Bay.
I was hoping to see what the train ride is like from Boston to Maine, not Boston to Haverhill.

If you are interested I found a video of someone riding the train to Brunswick:

part of Maine is called the down east
Nice video
Thanks!
10:08, "Down the train we goed". I see... You excellent Mr. English speak, don't you?
Me am engineer, me am not do english good.
Ah, actually you misheard me. I said "Down the train we go" but the intonation made it sound like "goed."
Have you done one for the Silver Service?
I haven't made a video on it yet, but I took the Silver Star from NYC to Miami in December, so expect a video on it coming soon!
Idea: Making the Downeaster run to Halifax via Auburn, Waterville, Bangor, St. John and Moncton instead of going to Brunswick.
its not gonna happen for a while?
our performance record is awesome
Congratulations on pronouncing Haverhill like a native!😉

Airo should be on the Palmetto because the Palmetto should be considered a long-distance 🚆

How do you pay for meals on the train. Charge card or just cash?
Meals can be bought using cash or card.
Doesn't it stop at Woburn anymore?
It does, I just forgot it did as I didn't have it in the footage that we stopped there, and the sign in Boston didn't have it listed, so I assumed we weren't going to stop there.
I think Woburn NB is pick up only and SB is drop off only. It’s a T stop and I don’t think they want to compete.
