- “Queen Charlotte” stars India Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest sit down with “Extra’s” Billy Bush to talk about their “Bridgerton” prequel series, which tells the love story of Queen Charlotte and King George of England. They spoke about some of the big issues the series tackles, as Charlotte and George’s marriage brings a segregated society together. India and Corey also dished on filming those steamy love scenes! “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” is streaming on Netflix May 4.

I know this series is Corey’s first proper job but it's like he's been acting for a long time! He did an amazing job portraying a vulnerable king. His emotions were spot on. I actually sympathised with his character. That goes to show how good of an actor he is. I hope more people will recognise his talent after this and I can't wait to see more of his work in the future. He has a bright future if he is given the right opportunity.
Just thought the same! He was so great in showing his inner torment and how close he's often on the edge.
He doesn't need to worry, definitely he will have more roles, he was just perfect 😊

India has such grace and is a natural talent. Where the heck did they find Corey? He is so perfect in this role as a King, he even has that (Disney prince) gorgeous light-up-your-face smile. Well done to the writers, director/s and casting, love this prequel.

Queen Charlotte is the best Brigherton series so far. From the young actors, the music and the C&G's love story was perfectly executed. Their love honestly felt real.

I love the way she speaks. She speaks eloquently. I love that Bridgerton always brings fresh faces and they never disappoint. Excited for the new show!
English culture seems to produce people cut above the rest. And it doesn't matter if they are White, Black, Asian, their style of language is so much more sophisticated and intelligent. Of course I don't mean all of UK but certain parts in particular.

The last scene of this season made me ball my eyes out. From the very 1st moment their chemistry was on point. I loved how they both performed and I am amazed by the male actor like this was his 1st proper job yet he SLAYED. OMG I am in love with this prequel 😭💞✨️

She is so lovely, eloquent and down to earth. He is handsome and intelligent. They are both fairly young(21 and 25) to be so mature and talented. Their chemistry is some of the best I have seen in film.👏

I also loved the focus of these characters. The other seasons have a lot more going on and this was a more intimate story and it allowed us to truly get to know these characters, their perspectives and what they went through. It was beautifully done 😍

These two were amazing together. Loved their story more than Bridgerton itself. My 3 favorite scenes: the fight when George told Charlotte he loved her, the dance scene, & the ending scene under the bed. These two were perfection 👏🏽👏🏽
He’s such a great actor! He did an amazing job playing his role- he looked like a different person when he was “sane” as opposed to when he was having a mental episode. It’s like his face would completely transform. Great acting by both of them.

The mother was also excellent in her role as the kings mother and protector for the while
She was also great on Game of Thrones. I was excited to see her in this role and I thought she brought a lot of wit and depth to Princess Augusta.
My favorite season hands down, even deeper, a masterpiece of lighting, framing, writing, music (those wigs...my God they are works of Art) and seamless, impeccable, phenomenal acting, those two have presence, charisma, chemistry and moved me to tears. I immediately had to rewatch it. / This interview: Him Taurus and her Virgo, such grounded earth energy indeed (am sure they have the whole zodiac inside but ywim), no nonsense, humble, eloquent, intelligent, they are beautiful. We saw their souls in this film...their performance was so REAL. Beautiful and memorable, truly. And they are so handsome...both of them...Corey his smile is to die for, and Charlotte her moral spinal chord, her grace are mesmerizing, the screen was eating them up whole.

Queen Charlotte story empowers woman and I love it. Good chemistry. Very good actors and actresses.
These two souls were born for this moment in this time and to portray these roles. It's a soul contract they made with one another before coming into this physical realm.
Corey is positively brilliant as King George and so relaxed and unassuming not particularly articulate in the interviews with him and India. By contrast India is so precise in her use of language and thinking. Fatigue of travel and interviewing may have been a factor. Clearly they are friends and they were magical on screen together. I look forward to seeing both of them in future productions.
This is BY FAR, THE BEST BRIGHERTON‼️It’s so good, I’m going to watch the entire season again. This series was just too short. I wish there were more.

I loved this series. I loved everything that was said and not said. It was painful and joyful and hopeful all at the same time. I loved how they tried to protect each other, one from pain and one from shame. It made me want to see more but it was just enough for us to paint our own picture to fill in the gaps. Bravo Shonda Rhimes, Bravo!

It seems these reporters still don't understand that those intimate scenes are not real. The actors in the first season were bombarded with similar questions and they clearly explained how it's done.

Gosh, the "I love you Charlotte" scene in Episode 6.. they were just spot on. The part where Cory somehow admits and starts being really, really be vulnerable, and honest with how he really feels, that tweak in his voice, and then cried... huhuh that was just.... huhu and the part where he already admitted his condition, and he was rubbing her back as if trying to comfort her for the news he was telling her.... I can't even find the words...
I love this series so much. Definitely the best of the Bridgerton trilogy, I'm currently rewatching it, but slowly, I want to catch everything without having to rewind. I know that sounds crazy...

If you love love stories told over time as the couple age e.g. The Note Book, Serendipity, The lake Hose (Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves), The Choice, but as a period piece then you're gonna love this series

Okay this is my favorite interview from the press tour. Billy Bush is such a nuanced, relaxed host and both actors say such dry, synchronized jokes that Billy is caught off-guard so many times, it's hilarious. The questions were spot on, too. Less digging into their personal chemistry (which is admittedly great fodder for the thirsty fandom) and more into their roles and the acting, which I appreciated.
the last episode made me cry ‼️ What the love is ❤️❤️❤️ it is so beautiful .
In that episode when they were behind the headboard ( I think that what that was) talking and past and present co mingled when he said .."you didn't go over the fence".. I just couldn't stop crying. I had to give it some time before I watched it again. Because I was a hot mess. Great performances from all.

When he was taking abt how singing would ruin the whole show, I immediately thought of Grey’s Anatomy, and how how Shonda thought it would be so good for a musical ep. In that one szn. No offense, but I hope she doesn’t do that here 😅 it was not the vibe then, and it’s just not vibe now 😵💫.
Each season is "the best" or our "favourite" which is really an accomplishment for Shondaland.
This season was so very good and both of them played the characters so perfectly.

What I think is most interesting about this series is not the love angle, but, as an American who only knew King George from the American Revolutionary War angle. He was always Tyrant George, but now, he's Farmer George. Or, just George. Poor George..

Right. They weren’t playing up Queen Charlotte or King George as any icons or tropes but as human beings. It was such a beautiful story and Corey did such an immaculate job at portraying his characters mental burdens to confessing his love for Charlotte. India as well. I hope we get another season which Shonda hadn’t ruled out 😭
