Thank you for bringing this Greymuzzle into the fandom. I never know how much I missed out throughout the decades until I went to Denfur, and initially I felt nervous. Then I got my partial fursuit (thanks, FireWolf Studio) and I felt like.. home. Sure, I've been exposed to anthropomorphic animals since the 80's.. but didn't know much about the fandom until this year. I learned so much about the fandom and LGBTQIA+ in a short amount of time. It was almost like redesigning and rebuilding myself and exposing a portion of my personality that has been locked up for quite awhile. Now, I always want to suit with my fellow Montana Furs no matter where it is. I love it, and I have zero regrets diving in head first. Well, the only regret I have is not diving in sooner.

Not a furry myself, but this was an interestingly good watch. Those that mentioned they struggled in younger years with not having friends, or being popular, anxieties etc, I really feel for you guys! I'd be friends with any and all of you! I made a furry friend the other day. I find it pretty interesting having a furry friend though. For a while now I’ve always had thoughts if I really was a furry or not. It’s hard thinking about if I really am one but one day I don’t know when, maybe today if I will find myself some self love.
I've been in the fandom since I was in the 7th grade (I am now graduating high school), and I've loved all of the people I've met because of this fandom. So many people see us as really weird/gross, but all the fellow furries I've met in real life have been really kind and chill. I wish people could understand that with every group of people, there is going to be a bad side, and like everyone else, furries are going to have a few bad apples in our fandom.
When I joined the furry fandom- I was 13. And going through bullying and depression. I always knew I was different, and that I wanted to find a place were I could feel safe. The furry fandom did that for me. All these people who are what I am. Dress as Anthropomorphic animals. When I made my first fursona, I posted it online. And I got SO many good comments from it, more furries became my friend. And from that point, I knew this was my home. This fandom was where I belonged. Thank you Ash for making this documentary. Now friends I know outside of the fandom, can learn what its like to be a furry 💛
I have only been into the fandom for a few years and watching this gives me a great glimpse into the fandom as a whole. Hearing about the fandom from some friends a few years back made me wonder (Am I a furry?). At the time I had come out as gay to my family but I had a hard time coming out as a furry. It seems so simple to just say (I am a furry) to your family but it seemed harder. Eventually I told them and they were accepting. Someday I would like to have a fursuit made of my fursona Kiyuki (Husky/fox) but for now I am just happy that I get to meet others who are like me and I am very happy that I am going to be attending my very first furry convention at MFF this December 2002 so I hope to meet a lot of new people there and make great friends. Thank you Ash for this wonderful video and I do hope to see more like it in the future.
I have been in the Fandom for 6-8 years I have meant so many wonderful friends and even my boyfriend this community got me out of some really dark times and is still helping me heal from my past it just makes you feel amazing every time that my friends and boyfriend and myself get to go to cons when they have one it just feels like home and one big family to us especially after working 40 hours to taking off a few days to hang out with others like you its just something that stays with you always seeing peoples fursonas their ideas their species everything its just amazing and shows people that we love our hobby and our Fandom. I just want everyone to know I love you all and I give all you guys a huge hug wherever you're at just remember we are a family a community we got to be there for each other and not listen to the haters and the people that left the Fandom calling the Fandom toxic my friends my boyfriend and I don't care about the Twitter and or politics people or issues cause we don't care about politics and don't have Twitter cause Twitter is a shit site in general and had nothing to do with Furries or the Fandom being toxic. We just ignore those types of people and help others at cons to have a good time to show this is still amazing Fandom no matter what is going on your all special to me your all family next time you see someone at a con show them you care and love them to. Fast forward around two years and I had access to the internet, I used amino mostly just to see the art, I never really communicated with anyone because I was shy, but one day someone messaged me asking how I was completely out the blue, I said I was good and it turned into a full on conversation about our interests, that was when I met my first furry friend, we talked every day for so long, sadly I do not know where this person is now because I stopped using amino, but carrying on the topic of art, the furry fandom is why I started drawing, ever since I’ve improved so much with much support from friends, family, overall just a lot of support. Yeah I’ve been bullied a bit but nothing a little positivity can’t fix, I’m now 13 and an artist and a beginner fursuit maker. I don’t see myself leaving the fandom anytime soon since it’s where I get most of my happiness besides family and friends. (This is such a long story lol…) my parents agreed to take me to a furry convention someday (my dad is one too!) so I hope to see new friends. Thank you for making this Ash, and sorry for filling up the comment section with my paragraph…lol

The furry fandom saved my life. I first heard about it from a friend, and didn’t know what it was, but he was a furry. He kind of explained what, and who furries are, (in a nutshell) but I still looked it up. I fell in love with furries. He kind of left the fandom, but I am still friends with him. I am part of the furry fandom since I was 10. I am now 15. It’s crazy how time flies. Had hard times, being bullied who I was. But the fandom saved me. Thanks to the furries!
I have severe social anxiety around crowds and people. But when I'm doing furry TikTok's in the safety of my room, seeing interactions and likes with my content, and making new friends truly becomes easier than ever. My followers love me so much, and I love them so much too! About 3 of them I've become super close! It's now more exciting than ever to log into TikTok and talk to everyone who comments on my content. I still am cautious when speaking to someone for the first time. I've been hurt by people my own age my entire life. I'm 27. My fursuit gives me the freedom, confidence, and happiness I thought I'd never have. It's also brought me many friends thru social media. The furry fandom is truly amazing. Once you're in, it'll change your life! ❤
This is so amazing! I really enjoyed watching this. I've considered myself a Furry for many years, but sadly have never had the funds to buy my own fursuit or attend conventions (and zero talent to make my own. lol I am not artistic in that sense. I can write, though! :) ). I raise my glass to toast my Furry siblings, wherever in the world you may be. Long live the fandom!

I love being in the fandom despite not having a fursuit or having been to a con. I want to go to denfur so bad though. The other truth is that one of the things that made brought me together with my girlfriend is the furry fandom. This community is a force for love, good, and tolerance. I know we have bad apples in here, but I’m positive that we as a fandom have made a difference in peoples lives. Bringing a sense of belonging, friendship, and community to those who think they are alone in this world, that there is nobody like them, is a great feeling. May the fandom live on, and may we one day be accepted by society at large.

Thank you for the creation of this series and your documentary film. I've been remotely adjacent to the fandom, in that I've somewhat known of the existence of the fandom, for about 25 years now. In fact, a furry got me involved in the general Science Fiction convention scene, but I never knew about furry cons until maybe a decade ago. I'm glad I got to see where the fandom went since I last connected with it, and suspect that involvement may become greater as I've recently reconnected with the fandom. I wish you the best and please continue to create very informative works about this wonderful community.
I’ve never understood what furry’s were because when I asked my friends (in school) they said that it was weird and that I knew what was wrong with being one. Then they would of course aske if I was a furry. Now that I actually have a good grasp about what it is, it feels like the world has opened up lol. Thanks for that, now I’m in love with the fandom. The thing I really love about this fandom is how it essentially accepts anyone no matter who you are. As someone with disabilities myself, the amount of love and kinship I received being in the furry fandom is just mind boggling, it’s crazy how quickly I made positive connections just by being unapologetically myself. I love being a furry, and I made sure that the whole world knows that’s a part of who I am.
Great collection, of episodes I really enjoyed them. I think what resonated with me the most, was what Beta said. I myself feel like sometimes I am at a low point. Especially with this past year, but this past year did make me realize I had been putting myself in isolation, because everyone else was in isolation as they were quarantined from one another. That made me realize, I was not really being myself, now I want to be involved in the furry fandom more.
Yeah, of course I know I'm not an animal walking on two feet. I know I'm a human, and quite the silly one, when I dress up as a character I created to talk to other silly people on the internet, but it's just so much fun. Doesn't hurt anyone and makes for some weird spectacle. That's why I'm a furry and why I like the fandom. Be yourself, be silly, have balance in life between the seriousness of working, studying or whatever you're doing at the moment, and interaction with other furries where goofyness is not frowned upon. And what's strange is that I was never really bullied or left out by the group. I was always one of the stronger guys in my little sphere of acquaintances, never had problems with anyone, I just love the fun and goofy, even silly aspect of the fandom. You're talking to many different people, noone cares about religion, color of skin or anything, really, it's just how you are to people that defines how you are seen in the fandom. That is a beautiful aspect as well. Furries are some of the most likeable and honest people I've met.
I know it's very unlikely, but I really hope something like this ends up on TV one day. This is older now sure but it's still so nicely documented and just a huge pleasure to watch!

Glad to find this, I am a furry since 2007 and I met my now husband, Leerrii in the fandom. I can't ever say I can't do something. If it wasn't for the furries I would be homeless or stuck living with my mom and dad in Bailey Co. My mom is not accepting of any fandom but her Soap Operas. She would use MTV or HBO to show this in a bad way, but when she actually saw pictures of me dressed up as a Unicorn for Halloween at 8 and I said, "why can't you put your talents in sewing and make a fursuit?" She did it before, she needs to see how amazing these people are. She could be a designer in her own right

i draw these characters since im 7-8 years old without knowing abt this magical fandom and one day my sister was calling me to show me something and i saw people with costumes of animals and my sister said "see how cute and silly is it", i said "your right i wanna join the fandom!". My sister helped me to create my first character as a dinomask and since that day i am the happiest woman in the world, the furry helped me to get out of the house and to actually accept myself and it helped me during my dark times. i don't know how to say thank you cause it will never be enough!

Every time a con comes and goes that I miss, I get more bummed. But it's cool to get to see footage and sort of live vicariously through the photos and video.
The "bad apples" need care the most. You and I can show them there's a way to be better and that it's worth it. We can encourage them to move past their vices and the traumas sitting underneath. We are all human and I believe in second chances. That's my opinion.

The reason why I am in the furry community is because I feel like I am myself and I wont get judged. Its like a secondary family that I can go to and talk to about things that I want to do and get some support and I can go to talk about my life situation with me being 21 years old and trying to figure out what I want to do in life and try and live my best life. When I saw that there were other transgender people in the community I knew that this was a safe space and I can be myself in here. Im gonna get a little off topic here, but I have had the crappiest year of my life. My dads father passed away in February and a few months after that my parents filed for a divorce and they just separated almost 2 months ago and I feel like I'm in a state that I can't get my life on track, but when I talk to some of my friends in the community I can get away from all the sadness and have a laugh and have them come over and give me hugs and tell me that they love me because I am probably the best friend that they have because I changed their lives and I feel like they are trying to keep me together and tell me that everything is going to be okay. I genuinely love this community because I wouldn't have met my girlfriend and friends who im going to invite to my wedding because they are always with me and are always welcome to come over and see me and play video games or drive around in my car or go skateboarding with them or sit down and watch a movie or sit down and have a couple of drinks and talk about life with each other. This is probably the best way for me to describe this community as a second family to me.
Furry is art and recreation! Just an enjoyable arts and crafts group. For many, it's expression just like the Trekkies, and the various Star Wars cosplayer groups.
I was rarely bullied as a kid, I had minimal self esteem issues. The majority of furries may have these self image issues but you don't need them to be in the fandom, I have supportive friends and family, a typical middle class upbringing, and its absolutely okay if you did too, that doesn't make you any less of a furry than the majority, don't feel like you need to have issues to be in the fandom, because in the long run, everyone grows from being a part of it. lets hope you all can relate to the fandom in some way and stay proud of who you are!
I’ve been a part of the fandom for years now, so I’m used to hate online, but it’s gotten to the point where it has become unbearable. I own a popular TikTok account where I post furry art, and I have been repeatedly told to kill myself by trolls on the app. Recently, I’ve even faced harassment in real life. This last weekend, I was at the park with some friends roleplaying. I was wearing my German Shepard dog fur suit and roleplaying as a puppy, playing fetch with my friends and chasing the other dogs. Soon, a woman came to our group and began verbally harassing us. I was extremely scared, so I apologized to her. She returned to her bench but continued to watch us from afar. After she saw me lift my leg and urinate in a bush, she called the police. An officer responded to the call and I was issued an ordinance violation. I’m still extremely shaken from the experience and I feel like I was targeted for being a furry. I just don’t understand why furries are treated so much worse than members of other fandoms.
I have pretty severe social anxiety, I am working on a fursuit sort of, i might go to a furry convention next year, my mom told me we should! I’m going to make a full body suit when my bones stop growing lol!

The furry fandom saved my life. I first heard about it from a friend, and didn’t know what it was, but he was a furry. He kind of explained what, and who furries are, (in a nutshell) but I still looked it up. I fell in love with furries. He kind of left the fandom, but I am still friends with him. I am part of the furry fandom since I was 10. I am now 15. It’s crazy how time flies. Had hard times, being bullied who I was. But the fandom saved me. Thanks to the furries!

I have severe social anxiety around crowds and people. But when I'm doing furry TikTok's in the safety of my room, seeing interactions and likes with my content, and making new friends truly becomes easier than ever. My followers love me so much, and I love them so much too! About 3 of them I've become super close! It's now more exciting than ever to log into TikTok and talk to everyone who comments on my content. I still am cautious when speaking to someone for the first time. I've been hurt by people my own age my entire life. I'm 27. My fursuit gives me the freedom, confidence, and happiness I thought I'd never have. It's also brought me many friends thru social media. The furry fandom is truly amazing. Once you're in, it'll change your life! ❤
This is so amazing! I really enjoyed watching this. I've considered myself a Furry for many years, but sadly have never had the funds to buy my own fursuit or attend conventions (and zero talent to make my own. lol I am not artistic in that sense. I can write, though! :) ). I raise my glass to toast my Furry siblings, wherever in the world you may be. Long live the fandom!

There’s so many Brilliant people in this community too.
I love being in the fandom despite not having a fursuit or having been to a con. I want to go to denfur so bad though. The other truth is that one of the things that made brought me together with my girlfriend is the furry fandom.
This community is a force for love, good, and tolerance. I know we have bad apples in here, but I’m positive that we as a fandom have made a difference in peoples lives. Bringing a sense of belonging, friendship, and community to those who think they are alone in this world, that there is nobody like them, is a great feeling.
May the fandom live on, and may we one day be accepted by society at large.

Thank you for the creation of this series and your documentary film. I've been remotely adjacent to the fandom, in that I've somewhat known of the existence of the fandom, for about 25 years now. In fact, a furry got me involved in the general Science Fiction convention scene, but I never knew about furry cons until maybe a decade ago. I'm glad I got to see where the fandom went since I last connected with it, and suspect that involvement may become greater as I've recently reconnected with the fandom.

I’ve never understood what furry’s were because when I asked my friends (in school) they said that it was weird and that I knew what was wrong with being one. Then they would of course aske if I was a furry. Now that I actually have a good grasp about what it is, it feels like the world has opened up lol. Thanks for that, now I’m in love with the fandom. The thing I really love about this fandom is how it essentially accepts anyone no matter who you are. As someone with disabilities myself, the amount of love and kinship I received being in the furry fandom is just mind boggling, it’s crazy how quickly I made positive connections just by being unapologetically myself.
I love being a furry, and I made sure that the whole world knows that’s a part of who I am.
Great collection, of episodes I really enjoyed them. I think what resonated with me the most, was what Beta said. I myself feel like sometimes I am at a low point. Especially with this past year, but this past year did make me realize I had been putting myself in isolation, because everyone else was in isolation as they were quarantined from one another. That made me realize, I was not really being myself, now I want to be involved in the furry fandom more.

Yeah, of course I know I'm not an animal walking on two feet. I know I'm a human, and quite the silly one, when I dress up as a character I created to talk to other silly people on the internet, but it's just so much fun. Doesn't hurt anyone and makes for some weird spectacle. That's why I'm a furry and why I like the fandom. Be yourself, be silly, have balance in life between the seriousness of working, studying or whatever you're doing at the moment, and interaction with other furries where goofyness is not frowned upon.
And what's strange is that I was never really bullied or left out by the group. I was always one of the stronger guys in my little sphere of acquaintances, never had problems with anyone, I just love the fun and goofy, even silly aspect of the fandom. You're talking to many different people, noone cares about religion, color of skin or anything, really, it's just how you are to people that defines how you are seen in the fandom. That is a beautiful aspect as well. Furries are some of the most likeable and honest people I've met.
I know it's very unlikely, but I really hope something like this ends up on TV one day. This is older now sure but it's still so nicely documented and just a huge pleasure to watch!

Glad to find this, I am a furry since 2007 and I met my now husband, Leerrii in the fandom. I can't ever say I can't do something. If it wasn't for the furries I would be homeless or stuck living with my mom and dad in Bailey Co. My mom is not accepting of any fandom but her Soap Operas. She would use MTV or HBO to show this in a bad way, but when she actually saw pictures of me dressed up as a Unicorn for Halloween at 8 and I said, "why can't you put your talents in sewing and make a fursuit?" She did it before, she needs to see how amazing these people are. She could be a designer in her own right

i draw these characters since im 7-8 years old without knowing abt this magical fandom and one day my sister was calling me to show me something and i saw people with costumes of animals and my sister said "see how cute and silly is it", i said "your right i wanna join the fandom!". My sister helped me to create my first character as a dinomask and since that day i am the happiest woman in the world, the furry helped me to get out of the house and to actually accept myself and it helped me during my dark times. i don't know how to say thank you cause it will never be enough!

The reason why I am in the furry community is because I feel like I am myself and I wont get judged. Its like a secondary family that I can go to and talk to about things that I want to do and get some support and I can go to talk about my life situation with me being 21 years old and trying to figure out what I want to do in life and try and live my best life. When I saw that there were other transgender people in the community I knew that this was a safe space and I can be myself in here. Im gonna get a little off topic here, but I have had the crappiest year of my life. My dads father passed away in February and a few months after that my parents filed for a divorce and they just separated almost 2 months ago and I feel like I'm in a state that I can't get my life on track, but when I talk to some of my friends in the community I can get away from all the sadness and have a laugh and have them come over and give me hugs and tell me that they love me because I am probably the best friend that they have because I changed their lives and I feel like they are trying to keep me together and tell me that everything is going to be okay. I genuinely love this community because I wouldn't have met my girlfriend and friends who im going to invite to my wedding because they are always with me and are always welcome to come over and see me and play video games or drive around in my car or go skateboarding with them or sit down and watch a movie or sit down and have a couple of drinks and talk about life with each other. This is probably the best way for me to describe this community as a second family to me.
Furry is art and recreation! Just an enjoyable arts and crafts group. For many, it's expression just like the Trekkies, and the various Star Wars cosplayer groups.

I was rarely bullied as a kid, I had minimal self esteem issues. The majority of furries may have these self image issues but you don't need them to be in the fandom, I have supportive friends and family, a typical middle class upbringing, and its absolutely okay if you did too, that doesn't make you any less of a furry than the majority, don't feel like you need to have issues to be in the fandom, because in the long run, everyone grows from being a part of it. lets hope you all can relate to the fandom in some way and stay proud of who you are!
I grew up the same way, it's just something I like
I’ve been a part of the fandom for years now, so I’m used to hate online, but it’s gotten to the point where it has become unbearable. I own a popular TikTok account where I post furry art, and I have been repeatedly told to kill myself by trolls on the app. Recently, I’ve even faced harassment in real life. This last weekend, I was at the park with some friends roleplaying. I was wearing my German Shepard dog fur suit and roleplaying as a puppy, playing fetch with my friends and chasing the other dogs. Soon, a woman came to our group and began verbally harassing us. I was extremely scared, so I apologized to her. She returned to her bench but continued to watch us from afar. After she saw me lift my leg and urinate in a bush, she called the police. An officer responded to the call and I was issued an ordinance violation. I’m still extremely shaken from the experience and I feel like I was targeted for being a furry. I just don’t understand why furries are treated so much worse than members of other fandoms.
