    I have a buddy that works for the Chargers. He told me they offered a 6th for Mike and have called about SEVERAL WRs and 2 TEs. The only 2 names I got were Dionte Johnson and .. Cooper Kupp.
    He texted me during the game and said “don’t be surprised to see multiple moves made” so I’m thinking they 100% make a move this week.

    I think their issues at WR really shows this game, they don’t have anyone outside of Ladd that can just get open when the cardinals crowd the line so essentially the cards had free reign to do whatever they wanted. Run, everyone on the line, pass, everyone on the line cuz you can’t win down the field consistently with your WRs. And Greg Roman routinely trying to run it up the guy instead of getting outside or throwing screens to get them to back off is the reason they lost this game. And James Conner dominating those arm tackles…

    I heard a lot of teeth gnashing about the offense but a quick dismissal of the defense giving up 181 yards on the ground. I’d be interested in knowing how often teams who give up that many rushing yards end up winning the game. I’m guessing the number is very small. While the criticisms of the offense are valid, turnovers were the biggest difference in the game and the poor run defense played at least as big a part in the loss as the red zone struggles.

    • @guiltyascharged7752

      17 points from the defense though.

    • @theoracle3772

      @@guiltyascharged7752 And 22 points from the offense, if Reagor doesn’t fumble. It’s true the defense kept the score within reach, but I’d bet giving up that many rushing yards almost never results in a win, just like losing the turnover battle, especially when those turnovers occur when the offense is in scoring position, usually results in a loss. My point is that this one was a team effort and one side of the ball didn’t let down the other.

    I’m not about to crap on the defense that again gave up less than 20 pts. Our 3 losses this season the defense gave up 17 twice and 20. If the defense has to hold teams to 10 pts or less for us to win this is gonna be a 6 win team. The defense is fine. No need to spend any time talking about the lack of pass rush because it’s not the reason we lost any game.

    Herbert was magic tonight, precision that elevates the game, reminding us all what football could be. Just need more playmakers to match his moments.
    Minter hype dies down hopefully, still a lot of pieces that need reps and more time together.
    Refs an absolute clown show, “Chargering” just another symptom of consistently questionable officiating that has watered down the sport for years.
    The best approach to this team still seems to be to appreciate the amazing football Herbert gives us and ignore the Win / Loss.
    The team struggled, sure, but this is unserious, Kendall Roy, WWE officiating.

    I can't help but wonder, from a mentality standpoint, almost like a gambler will chase bad beats & throw money at a lost cause rather than cutting losses and walking away, after Tart interception/fumble, it felt like the defense was chasing big plays rather than playing fundamentally sound. Khalil Mack had a great PFF grade but he gave up the edge multiple times. Dupree did the same (without the great grade). It just looked like they were playing with the mindset of, "someone has to make a play," rather than, "do your job."

    Good season so far. I knew losing #13 was going to hurt. Letting herberts #1 weapon walk probably doomed this season.
    Seeing Joey as a backup DC collecting that $$ behind Minter all game is embarrassing while Mack is busting his ass.
    We are a few good interior O linemen and real NFL WR away from being where we want to be.
    What do all real teams have? ELITE WR. There are a lot of ghosts from Staley and Telesco still out there in the field and dead cap they are dealing with.

      A better play caller, a good tight end who can catch passes and be a true difference maker, and a bonafide receiver that can separate as a true X receiver who can add verticality to this offense. This offensive line lost up front all game and could not run the ball and couldn’t protect Herbert. Was never a fan of Greg Roman and so far I have been proven right this far. Jim should have known Roman’s shortcomings since his own brother had him as OC for years. Why he didn’t consult him is beyond me. He didn’t get hired by any team last year and I think Jim made a mistake making him OC. I can see running game coordinator but not OC. I appreciate the podcast fellas. Much respect 🫡

    • @stevesovring9725
      @stevesovring9725 7 часов назад

      my opinion is Herbert should drop back a little father, then move into the pocket. It will buy him just a half second more which will get him enough time to find his open man. He does need guys who can get open. Only McConkey is getting separation. He also needs to move out of the pocket more and plan for it. That will really open things up. Just think if Lamar and Mahomes never moved out of the pocket? Its where all their wins are. Herbert does not need to run only evade and let his receivers get more open. Until we get another Keenan, Herbert should learn how to incorporate more mobility in tune with his offensive lineman when they only rush 4. There are nice holes that develop for him to move to the side. And get rid of Roman. Find a playcaller with complex diversions, or just copy Andy Reids playbook.

  • @SpankyHanky69
    @SpankyHanky69 15 часов назад

    Am I crazy? I like the designs from Roman. The problem is, and continues to be, a lack of execution in the interior o-line. We also lack athleticism and playmaking in our receiving core. Roman’s designs are creative. Lots of motion. Fun looks. But we don’t have the horses. Process wise, I’m ok with where they are at. Need some talent and better execution

    • @guiltyascharged7752
      @guiltyascharged7752  9 часов назад

      I don't think Roman has been as bad as people online do. Just feel like nothing is sequenced like it is in the run game.

    • @stevesovring9725
      @stevesovring9725 7 часов назад

      wrong. Romans plays would be ok IF we had lineman of superior strength that could push every defensive line BACKWARDS. WE DO NOT. Then even if they knew what was coming it wouldn't matter. Therefore you need diversion plays, several per play to get the play away from the elite defenders. More bubble screens and checkdowns with diversion.

    A lot of people were pretty torn up over losing. It’s not a big deal. We should have lost a close one in Denver - but everything went right. Today, we probably should have won a close one, but everything went wrong. Penalty count, turnovers..
    We had a decent game plan both games. Some mismatches, either due to injuries or physicality. Only thing I’m really grumpy about is Oline performance. Jordan Love had all day last week vs AZ.

Framing it as “garbage time” rationalizes our performance, excusing failures and implying that if needed we could have stopped them.
      re: 20-0 - we played mistake free football. No penalties, no turnovers. Some major part of that’s chaotic, “luck”.

    Roman and his vanilla plays are the problem. Can you watch a good team like KC or Detroit make plays that have SEVERAL diversions. You must understand that when you have injuries and are playing against good defenses, you dont play into the opposing teams strength. You get their best defenders moving away from the final direction through DIVERSIONS, like two or three per play like a great team like KC. Just copy Andy Reids plays for crying out loud. As good as our offensive line is, several teams have even better defenses and you MUST make the adjustment and ACCEPT some of these defenses are better and ADJUST. Like in more bubble screens and check downs to Kimani(Eckler) who can go one on one and advance. Its all about being real with what you have, making the right adjustments including game plan. Stop believing in what you DON'T have. Pride? We would score alot with what we have with the right adjustments. It can take years for a QB and a receiver to gel perfectly in their timing. Play to your strengths: offense- Herbert. Defense: Blitzing. You have to we have poor cornerbacks on the field right now(some of them). How can you beat a better team? DIVERSIONS. EXECUTION. OUTCOACHING. With what we have on defense Minter is overperforming.. With what we have on offense, Roman is underperforming. Harbaugh needs to step in and hold some people accountable. When all our best players are healthy and on the field we are a playoff team. But even then its one and done with offense plays that fools NO ONE. Last year it seems there was even better plays with more misdirections. Calling Roman out here.
