I was told this by my Costco person and returned mine two days ago. She specifically told me the front focus was gone. My Hear in Noise didn’t work. I explained that to the fitter. She said it was the best it could be.
Oh boy. Well, that sucks Richard, the “front focus” program name has been changed to “hear in noise”. This was all explained in the video but ya, that’s unfortunate.
My Costco HA Specialist adjusted the EP 20s (Labeled EP 2608 on side of box) per your instructions and got the adjustable cone back for me in the "Hear in Noise" app. I select "Speech Focus" in the "Hear In Noise" program and then "Sound Enhancer" at the bottom of the page. That gets me to a graph with 3 points on it with three slider controls, one of which is called "Speech Focus". Moving the dot on the "speech focus" slider brings up the adjustable cone. Thank you very much for your assistance with this. I'm wearing my Jabras now. Feels good!
Love my Jabra 20s. First fit was almost perfect. Sounded a little tinny at first but after 2 weeks that is gone and the sound is richer. Must be because my old Rextons just didn't have the higher frequencies and I needed to adjust. Severe loss in both ears and power receivers still end up with 2 bars of power after an 18 hour day.
I just returned from Costco after my two week appointment with my hearing aid fitter. Although she didn't know how to get the Jabra Enhanced Pro 20s to read emails, she did know how to set them up to restore the front focus on the Jabra app on my iPhone. I copied your directions from your video, and gave them to her. She didn't know that the hearing aids had that feature. BTW, she didn't have to add another version of, " Hear In Noise", to restore the sound focus option. She also added the music program, which I haven't tried out. I'm surprised that Costco hearing aid employees, don't have a blog to share some of the information that you share on your RUclips Channel. Except for the crowds during the holidays, the hearing care and personal attention I have received from the Costco staff has been first class. She also showed me how to replace both the domes and the wax filters. She then gave me a one year supply of domes and wax filters. She said to change them quarterly. She also said that Costco will only supply a one year supply for each customer. Is replacing the domes and wax filters quarterly enough? I want to add that finding your RUclips channel was the best thing I did. I knew that Costco carried Hearing Aids, but your information convinced me to go there for my purchase. Keep up the good work.
Yesterday, a friend and I went to lunch in an extremely crowded, and noisy restaurant. My friend was seated directly in front of me across the table. Because school was out for the Christmas break, the place was even more noisy and crowded than usual. I had an opportunity to try out the newly installed front focus feature that my Costco hearing aid fitter installed on my Jabra Pro app. After an hour of seemingly, to me, a normal conversation, he got up to go to the rest room I switched the program to, “All Around”, and I was shocked to discover how loud the background noise became. I had tried using the, “Hear in Noise”, function previously without the front focus feature and it worked poorly in my opinion. Previously, If the person sitting across from me wasn’t speaking, then I could hear noises from the other guests conversations, and background noise. Thanks Brian for your video on restoring the front focus feature.
THANK YOU! I just got back from Costco and my hearing aids have been transformed. The tech told me that the Hear in Noise setting is completely disabled even though it’s visible to the customer. She turned it on and added the adjustable microphone setting. Amazing! This is what I paid for.
My Costco audiologist got on support and they figured out how to get the speech focus cone back without having to add another Hear in Noise setting. Took quite awhile to do. Very happy now.
When I switched to Enhance Pro 20s, both my programs transferred over from 10s. They were just called Hear in Noise 1 (Front Focus) and Here in Noise 2 (Restaurant). I dropped the second one for Outdoor and actually prefer it for when I’m inside noisy places…with the noise filter on.
I am running the dishwasher behind me and listening to this in front of me. I can certainly hear the difference. I barely hear the dishwasher. Very cool.
Brian, Thank you for this information, I purchased my Jabra hearing aids shortly before you recorded this video. (My first ever) I went to my local Costco and asked if they could add this program to my hearing aids, the technician thought I was crazy and that this was not an option, I insisted that it was so they had attempted to contact their support people and before they did I was able to show them how to do it with your help from this video. Now I can adjust the focus of my hearing aids, the technician asked where I learned this and I told her about you and your videos on RUclips. And now they know how to add this for their next customer.
Thanks! Answered my questions. Just got new Jabra hearing aids and was very disappointed that the Front Focus was gone. Will be making a new appointment to have them do what you just described. Thanks again
HELP USING MY IPHONE! firstly, thank you for all of your info, much appreciated. One of the reasons I got the new Jabra at Costco was the ability to hear my conversation through the hearing aids when using my phone, that feature is high on my requirements. What I have found out is that unless the environment is extremely quiet the person on the other side hears a lot of noise generated by the microphones in the hearing aids and making it almost useless. I end up having to disconnect and use the speaker on the phone and putting it up to my ear, which beats the purpose, not to mention now it is not a private conversation ! I have been debating returning the units because of this. I would like to keep them but is there a way to eliminate the hearing aids microphones and using the microphone on the phone while still being able to hear my conversation through the hearing aids? Maybe there is a different way to adjust the program and eliminate the background noise. Thank you!
@@JM-ze1bv I agree with you about lousy sound quality for the person at the other end of my phone call when I’m in a noisy environment. I commonly switch to “iPhone” mode and allow my Jabras to just amplify the phone’s little speaker (not the Speaker mode). I would definitely enjoy the feature you’re asking for! Stream the incoming voice to my hearing aids, but tap the iPhone mic for outgoing. PS. Your message will be seen by a lot more people if you post it directly instead of as a reply to my post
Our Costco HA Specialist could not find the "Autoscope Adaptive Directionality" selection in the "Hear in Noise" program. She said they are distributing a different model than what you show in your printable directions. Our Jabra Enhance Pro 20 hearing aids do not include the "Tinnitus Sound Generator" or "CROS" features, as shown just below the red bar in your screen grabs. Something is different. Otherwise, they work fine - and we did turn on text message notifications as described in one of your other videos. Kudos for that tip.
I have the Enhance Pro 10 and Hear-in-Noise is the program I use most for my type of loss and would love to have the cone adjustment. Will your work around of adding a second Hear-in-noise and then use Autoscope work with my Pro 10? I hope the answer is yes. I saved this video to show my Costco HA Thank you 🙏 Lou
I went to Costco because of YOU. Yes, I'm picking up my JABRA'S next week (smaller Costco, didn't have them in stock). Thank you for what you do to help us all! God Bless
Brian..thank you so much for this information. I am so frustrated trying to understand a conversation in a restaurant. During the conversation I’m constantly looking at the app and adjusting the settings and apologizing for looking at my phone the whole time. It’s just rude. I finally pulled my HAs out in frustration. I have an appointment on 2/12/2024 at Costco and I will tactfully bring up your video and request these adjustments. I need this. Thanks again Brian.
My pleasure. I've got some feedback that some of the other costcos don't like the videos because they create extra work for the other dispensers so don't be surprised if they aren't receptive. On the flip side, I've received praise from other dispensers. Just be aware!
Why not use an amplifier in restaurants? Instead or in addition to the hearing aid? I solved my problem after buying the POCKET TALKER ULTRA ampl from William Sound. Less than 200$. Now I hear perfectly the conversations in restos. Amazon or Walmart have it. Game changer
@@HearingClub. I appreciate your response Brian. Just a quick follow up. I tactfully brought up these settings to my Costco hearing person. She was seemingly unaware of this setting. She was very attentive and appreciative of the information. She’s awesome….your awesome. Thanks again. Oh, and the new settings seems to be a great improvement.
Thank you, this is so much appreciated. Will be making an appointment to add the 2nd Hear In Noise with the "Autoscope Adaptive Directionality" option enabled.
I'm a potential customer and actually had my hearing exam today. Perhaps I'm missing something, but why do Costco "fitters" not receive updated training to apply and instruct on these settings? Until watching this video, I would have thought the staff would be aware of and instruct me on all the features of the hearing aid I've purchased, even if it's a new model. Thanks so much for your post and insight.
My pleasure. And my answer is this. No matter where I work, I try to go the extra mile and learn EVERYTHING I can because I hate not being able to answer questions. There’s other people out there like me and there’s other people out there that just do the bare minimum or don’t know how to do research I guess.
Just came across this channel. Awesome info, thank you! My Costco audiologist had added a program called "Crowd" which had the right settings so no I know now how to tweak it.
Hi Brian, I just joined your channel, your advice and content has been very helpful (but probably annoying to my fitter!). When I got the Jabra Pro 10's a couple months ago I told him that Jabra was probably coming out with a new smaller model but he said he didn't know anything about it. Then when the Pro 20's come out returned the Pro 10's and bought the Pro 20's. I just got them yesterday and asked my fitter about the program change to get the Cone back and he said he didn't know what I'm talking about. When I go back for my follow up I'll show him how to do it (I took detailed notes from you video and, that should be interesting). Also were you able to get the music program back? Maybe you can attach a little instructional pdf to your next video that we can just hand to our fitters? Thanks for everything!
Haha I love it! It amazes me how people don't do research and try to learn as much as possible about their job and the products they sell. But I guess I've always just been that way, I wanna know everything. The music program is an easy one, they just need to add it. The cone is different and kind of hidden. Just tell em you want the music program as well. And welcome to the Hearong Club, thank you so much for the support my man!
Unbelievably fantastic timing. Great video! “…your Mistress…” (pause…) LMAO! Thank you so much for this video. I’m about a week away from taking delivery of my Jabra Pro 20’s. I’ll make darn sure my fitter creates a second Hear in Noise option. Thank you for your hard work as a part-time RUclipsr and full time mensch! P.S. Funny, you don’t look like a tool. P.P.S I told my Costco fitter all about your channel. She had not heard about it. I told her she was missing out. When I go back for my fitting I’ll definitely send her the link to this video on how to create a second Hear in Noise program to restore access to the cone of silence. 📢
@@HearingClub - I had the program change to get the adjustable speech in noise. At first it didn't work I had to delete and re-install the app. Now it works perfect. Thanks again.
Just got the following back from the Jabra Hearing Aid Dept., I spoke to the Regional Manager and described the issue as you described it. The answer that came back is as follows (see below), which seems to me to be in agreement wit your findings. Does "any Dispenser" mean the Costco specialist in the Warehouse? I would like to create another program with auroscope and rename it "Restaurant". "They are not locked and nothing was removed. The default second program was once called "Restaurant" and the mic mode was set to "autoscope adaptive directionality". Now the default 2nd program is called "hear in noise" and the mics are set to "front focus". Any dispenser can simply change the mic mode back or create another program with autoscope. They can even rename the program to "restaurant" again if they want."
I tried the Jabra Enhance Pro at Costco this week. The dispenser had them set so I could change the front focus cone size in the 'hear in noise' program. It was changeable from about 180 deg down to 35 deg or so. My wife was speaking about 10' in front of me. I couldn't tell there was any directionality present no matter what the cone size. I could tell with the Rexton's.
@@ArthurHays I'm going to tune in my brain for the next 2 weeks before mucking around. I have an appointment to see my specialist again on the 17th to check everything out.
Another great video!! Just like everyone else I have a lot of problems hearing someone in a noisy restaurant/bar environment. Is the Jabra the best at eliminating this background noise or do you think the Phillips or Rexton would be better at this?
I had my Costco specialist add the variable focus mode (Jabra Enhance 20) and she removed the standard Hear-in-Noise mode. Since the variable focus mode can be adjusted to automatic mode using the focus slider, is it necessary to also have the standard Hear-in-Noise mode available? Love your channel. Keep up the good work.
Dear Kind Sir, I am one that got that Pro 20; JUST after it went on Costco's market. And ALL the things that are claiming about; I have it. And I'm thinking about refunded it. And then wait for the new Phillips 9040. That you talked about recently. Do You know when that new "9040" is coming out. Or I might buy, the older 9040 and keep both. Comparing each other. Because I'm crazy now. Because I do NOT like those problems, they are talking about;, in the Jabra Pro 20! Now... Thank you for what you shared with us kind Sir. Because you are a blessing in the "Hearing Aid" market, Really! Again thank you Sir.
@@HearingClub But kind Sir, didn't you say that they were updating a few things. And You said it would be the greatest Hearing Air ever!. In you last video on 9040? Or I am wrong? Thanks any way.❤
I have the Jabra Pro Enhance 20’s and took them to my local Costco in Plano Texas. We went to the HEAR IN NOISE drop down menu and the only options were: ALL AROUND, HEAR IN NOISE, MUSIC, OUTDOOR, ACOUSTIC PHONE and REM TEST. I showed him a picture of your drop-down menu from this video and he said it looks like the older menu. What do you think?
He's in the wrong menu. Need to be in the "advanced options" menu of the fitting software. I have step by step instructions on the website and literally show step by step options in the video. I don't know how they can't follow that.
HMM 2 different technicians have told me that there is no directional programming on Jabra Pro 20. Trying hear in noise did not help my restaurant issue with people across the table. I did not know the right words other than "I cannot hear the person across the table". I'll ask about the autoscope pull down for my Jabra. So I'm getting fitted with Rexton Reach on Sunday. So I'm not impulsive, but doing this based on Costco fitter's recommendation. Thanks for your help.
Hi Brian, thanks for the content that you offer. I find it very helpful. With that said, I have a different point of view concerning the Jabra 20's. I tried them for over 5 months and eventually returned them. From my perspective they are a very underdeveloped product and not ready for primetime. My primary disappointments had to do with the bluetooth connectivity. Not only did they not allow connectivity to my laptop or desktop computers, but to use them with a TV you need a $300 box. I watch 3 different TV's and don't feel like paying that expense for a pc of hardware that should be far less money. Connectivity to my phones was also a problem Pixel 7 and Pixel 6a both of which are supposed to be 'compatible'. Always problems with one side or the other failing to connect or drop out. The topic you bring up in this video was a problem as well. My experience was that either mode primarily amplified everything and filtering of background noise was always minimal. It surprises me that a product at this cost level is unable to get OTA updates. I can buy a new Android phone for $200 with far more intelligence that can be updated as needed. While general sound quality was OK, I don't understand why when wanting to listen to music or podcasts that the sound quality is not similar or better than a pair of $100 bluetooth earbuds. Never could get clear, trouble free sound while streaming music or podcasts. Anyway, battery life is great and they are small and comfortable. I guess if all you need hearing aides for is general conversation, these are just OK. I am now starting a new search for a better performing product one that offers robust connectivity, good sound quality and filters background noise effectively. Finally, Rex and the other staff at Costco did a great job! I have strong confidence and a high degree of comfort dealing with Costco on a product like this versus more traditional outlets. I just wish Costco offered a wider selection of products. Thanks again Brian
Well, I gauge the person and their "tech knowledge" and I asl folks if they are comfortable using these more advanced features. If they say no, I don't add any programs. If they say yes, then I add them.
I am new to Jabra and a new hearing aid listening. Currently, I am loving the fit, etc, however, I feel I am in an asmr video. How would I have this adjusted? Right now, the squeaky floor, or door opening three rooms away are very loud, not just voices, etc. I appreciate your feedback to adjust.
I found you through the Hearing Aid forum. I've had my Jabra Pro20 for two weeks now and still getting used to them and exploring their capabilities. One of the main reasons I took the plunge and got hearing aids was to hear more bird sounds. At 70 I have high frequency loss. I will be visiting my fitter at Costco tomorrow for my follow up. What programs are available for frequency lowering? Thank you! Look forward to more updates from you. Jim
Frequency lowering is automatically turned on for severe/profound high frequency loss. You can also disable it. If you wanna see what I’m talking about, check out my diy programming video and I briefly explain how it works.
Great timing for me too! Picking up my Jabra 20s with M&RIE receivers at Costco in exactly one week. Here's a question for you: does the fitting software have a way to give the patient control over the M&RIE microphones? I've heard that they aren't used for the speech in noise program, which seems unfortunate. Would love to see you dig into the software options for optimizing the M&RIE effects.
In my opinion, the Marie mics do nothing for me at all. I don't even bother with them. And no you have no control over anything but what's available in the app.
That front cone is really nice. Is this available on the Phillips 9040? I received mine a week ago at Costco and thought this would be part of the “package” of all quality hearing aids.
I think it should also be a default option but it's not. The philips has a "speech in noise" mode but I don't think it works nearly as well and there is no adjustable cone
Got my Jabra Pro 20's 2 weeks ago. The domes I was given don't fit right and they are all the same size. Can't find Jabra domes on Amazon, do any domes for other hearing aide brands fit the Jabras? I'm over an hour from the Costco where I got them I called and left messages but no one calls me back. Thanks
Thanks Brian for this! 2 questions: I got my Jabra 20 Saturday and I told my fitter at Costco about getting back the Front Focus and we tried but couldn’t get it to work, could you write down the step-by-step to do this pls? Either here or on your website?? Also, my KS 10.0 had the ability to turn off the HA when you removed them from the charger via the app, both myself and my fitter were not able to find that functionality either on the app or via the fitting program..are you aware if this is even an option with the Jabra 20? I don’t always put my HA on when I remove them from the charger and if I hold them you get feed back, etc Thank you!! M2C2
Unfortunately, there isn't an option for that with the jabras or any of our current hearing aids, im sorry. And yes I'll add the forum tonight to the website and I'll have that all in there, step by step with pictures.
Hey Brian, I’m a little confused I have the Jabra Enhanced Pro 20’s and the iPhone app and have not lost the Restaurant Mode, I had the speech program removed so I could get both the Music, and Outdoor programs but still use the Restaurant program every day. Have not seen an app update yet buttt I’m in Canada so maybe the app update has not rolled out here yet, that said maybe if I do see an update I should skip it? Is there anyway else I the update that might make it necessary to update? By the way a little tweaking of the music app makes it great for watching TV
So, to be clear: This requires my Costco fitter to add the second "Hear in Noise" program so I'll be able to change the focus on my own in the app. Right? That's not as good as what I've enjoyed with my KS7 and KS10 (where I could create my own programs) but it's better than nothing. I ordered the Jabra yesterday (after trying both Jabra and Phillips) and will have them near the end of the month. I'm going to give my Costco fitter the name and address of this video. But I don't see why Jabra can't increase the number of listening programs the app can handle and allow some to be user-defined. How hard could that be? The EasyLine app for the KS10 does the intelligent thing of locking the default "Automatic Premium" program (the one set to your specific hearing loss) so you can't change it. If you make changes, the only way to save them is as a new program. Like "Save As" in a computer app. I created two or three programs for my unique needs this way. I'm sure I'll need at least the Hear in Noise and Music programs to begin with. Is there a program for TV? If not. I'll probably ask for the second Hear in Noise and use the front focus and speech emphasis for that. -- Thanks for this helpful video.
Hey Brian, I love your thorough reviews and would love a comparison review of the Resound Nexie 9 to the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 (the specs I've found seem identical). I'm 10 days into a 60-day trial of the Resound Nexie 9 rechargeables and use a Samsung Note 20 Ultra running Android 13 with the phone clip, Mini Mic & premium charger (which appear to all be the same as Jabra's)...
Thank you for this very informative video. I am about to order my first hearing aid from Costco - the Jabra EP 20. The front focus feature was one of my reasons for buying this HA. Also the M&RIE and LE Audio with the LC3 codec. Auracast helps to future proof but there’s still not much out there to try yet. Question: I’ve read that the EP Pro has 17 frequency channels and the Philips has 24 frequency channels. Is this difference very noticeable? Essentially, in theory, 24 channels extends the frequency response so perhaps music listening is better if the high end adjustments allow for adequate amplitudes at that end of the spectrum. Thanks again for a great post. I will be following your words of wisdom.
i dont think anything above 9 channels really makes a difference my good sir. The jabras at costco have 17 channels and 17 fitting bands. The philips have 64 channels and 24 fitting bands. I think both hearing aids sound equally good, the philips slightly more natural but the jabras do better in background noise. Short answer, no.
This is true. And the tinnitus feature does NOTHING for my tinnitus. It's just a sound generator making speech even harder to understand since you have this constant noise. But short answer, yes correct
I have a question about my Philips 9030 that I got from Cosco. is it possible to add a 2nd "program" to it, where only all (or at least most) of the sound would be coming from the forward facing microphones? I consider your channel a GREAT, source of valuable information - Thanks for working so hard for us. Cristi
Ya the philips program you want is called "speech in noise". It doesn't seem to work as well and there is no real proof that it's changing the microphone directionality but it is supposed to. Try it out and let us know how it works.
After changes are made via the fitter configuration tool does the iPhone app have to be revised or will the changes be made automatically when the configuration is updated?
They should be in the app automatically, sometimes the hearing aids need to be unpaired and then re paired for them to show up but usually they just show up
On my Jabra pro 20s, & my galaxy s23 phone is having some issues when I answer the phone, it keep clinking on the call going thru my phone and it so hard to hear. Very loud and much feedback. How can I get my phone to work just like it always did before my jabra ha were attached. I know where to change it but it doesn't mean it won't switch back again during the next call. I never know just how it will sound when i answer . It's very annoying and gives me anxiety everytime I have to answer. I want to answer my phone and just put tge phone up to my ears and hear that way. Please help!
@@HearingClubBrian. My iPhone 15, updated IOS , mic didn’t work. My fitter said it was an iPhone problem. I spent hours with a senior Apple advisor. I switched beck to my six year old pair of Resound and the phone mic worked. This was another reason why I returned my pro 20.
Hi, I find your clips very useful. I am in the UK and have free National Health Service hearing aids (Danalogic Ambio 77). |I am a UK Costco member and will be getting the Jabra hearing aids from then soon. At the moment they only have the Enhance 10, but I believe they will be getting the 20's (which I am waiting for) sometime later this month. The price will be higher, but do you think it is worth waiting for the 20s?
When I switch to the hear in noise program the sound is muffled and not as loud as the all around program. Is there a problem with my aids, settings or neither? Thanks.
Have you figured out how to add the front focus cone back without creating a second hear in noise program? Someone on here commented that their fitter was able to do it after jabra support walked them through it. Also, wondering if front focus will make a big difference. I'm not super convinced the hear in noise works well as is.
Brian, I am having problem with the receiver irritating my ear cannel. My hearing aids are Rexton M Core. The covering of the receiver does not fully enclose the receiver.
I would setup an appointment and try a different dome. If you can’t find a good, comfortable dome that stays in the canal, your last resort would be a custom mold. Talk to your fitter and see what they say
10 days into Jabra 20s. Bluetooth is a problem on Android. Sound is distorted similar to blown speaker. Right hearing aid periodically disconnects and requires reboot to fix. Based upon environment, streaming sound is too low even at max volume. Not sure if this can be resolved. 3 trips to Costco. One call to Jabra. Installed, re-installed, rebooted with same issues. Firmware and software are the latest version. Any help?
Will my ReSound TC streamer work with these new hearing aids? Also I have the "original" Jabra hearing aids, how long will these last? I'm guessing there will come a time when the batteries won't hold a charge. Thanks
Yup, the biggest difference is the enhance pro 20 is BETTER than the Nexia 3 and Nexia 6 since those have less channels than the enhance pro 20. Remember, the jabra version is always the premium tech level. But yes, they are the same. This is the case with all of the costco hearing aids.
So you can only have 4 programs, does the 2nd hear in noise program that is added take away the Music one or another one? Thanks, for the video, I am still trying to get use to wearing them and adjusting them. I guess what I am asking is, will I have to sacrifice one of my programs for a 2nd hear in noise one?
I’m having a problem with my Jabra Enhanced Pros when I receive or make a call on my iPhone. The microphones sometimes work (person on the other end can hear me) and sometimes do not. I’ve gone into ‘settings’ on my phone to make sure hearing devices is selected. I have also clicked on the ‘info’ button on Bluetooth to select hearing aids. Even after doing these things, I still don’t get consistent performance from the microphones. Any thoughts?
Can you tell me if there's a fix for the unreliability of the Bluetooth connection on Android. It's so glitchy I'm considering returning my enhanced pro 20 Thanks, great video
I would ditch the phone before i ditch my hearing aids. Unless the phone is more important, then ditch the hearing aids. Your hearing aids are mfi hearing aids. That means "made for iphone"
@@HearingClub I bought the Jabra 20's a few weeks ago to upgrade from KS10's. The ability to go hands free with my Samsung S23 was why I made the move. The biggest problem is that sometimes phone calls are all static. Sometimes they sound fine to callers. The streaming is also problematic. Often just one aid is connected and the sound is thin and harsh. I put the 20's back in the box until these issues are resolved.
Go to the app store and search for "Jabra Enhance pro" and download that app. Then follow the instructions in my video on how to connect your hearing aids to your iPhone of that's what you have.
Where can I find the Favorite settings I created in the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 app? I created a RUclips Favorite setting and saved it, but now I cannot find the Favorite setting. Can you help.
The favorites are saved as additional programs. Try swiping left to cycle through all the programs. Or up at the top you should see different program icons, I believe the favorites are shown as a star icon ⭐️
What directionality or focus features does the Philips 9040 have? I don't see anything on the app. Is this possible with the 'Speech in Noise' program?
The speech in noise program has a very "vague" description. It doesn't say whether or not the microphones are set in a front position or not. But yes, this is the ONLY option for a noise situation so that's all you get. This is why I like the jabras more when it comes to background noise.
@@HearingClub I listened to a 2KHz sine wave from a speaker about 10' away. As I turned around 360 deg I didn't notice any front focus on 'speech in noise'.
Will you let us know when there’s a fix for hands free calling on the jabra enhance pro 20 with androids? Apparently the 6.1 upgrade rendered that feature non-fonctional.
I just purchased my Jabra Pro 20 and I’m getting used to them. I downloaded the app, but it automatically connects Bluetooth to my truck or music into my ears when I don’t want it I cannot figure out how to disable it from automatically connecting. Please help me with this and on the app. It says you can swipe up from the bottomand the app does not seem to do that well at all I’ve tried to swipe up from the bottom, it doesn’t seem to work. I’m wondering if I’m the only one that had this problem.
I love the “hear in noise” program - for the 1st 20-30 seconds. Then it just fades out and doesn’t seam to work anymore. Even the volume control doesn’t seam to work.
My old Resounds had restaurant mode. My new phillips 9040 has a far inferiir speech in noise. Not even close to as effective. I may return my Philipps and go back to my old ha's which are working now.
Asked our Costco fitter is she could add the Speech Focus back in the app with a new program and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. Asked if she knew how to add another program to the app and she said no....we will get the usual 4 everyone else gets. Guess you are at the mercy of the person you get at Costco Jabra Pro 20's on order....here's hoping we get a knowledgeable fitter when they come in!!! Oh....she mentioned we may be able to find an audiologist that would help us modify our Costco hear aids......not counting on that.
Feels good!
Heck ya!!
That's great! Thanks for the feedback and feel free to keep us updated
@@HearingClub I'm hoping Costco has the streamer + soon because the streaming on these is amazing.
I copied your info. Thanks mucho.
Ohhhhh yaaaaa. That’s what I’m here for my friend. Anytime 🤪
My Costco audiologist got on support and they figured out how to get the speech focus cone back without having to add another Hear in Noise setting. Took quite awhile to do. Very happy now.
Nice!
This is what I want to do also. Thank you for posting that this is possible. I still want music and outdoors as my 2 other options.
What did your Costco fitter do, change the original Hear in Noise program?
Please let us know what your fitter did, please? 🙏🏻
I'm not sure what he did but the Jabra support technician walked him through it. It was a software adjustment.
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
I am running the dishwasher behind me and listening to this in front of me. I can certainly hear the difference. I barely hear the dishwasher. Very cool.
ya the jabras are really good with this, probably the best!
That is wonderful news, thank you so much for sharing. Not all fitters have the same experience so I’m glad WE were able to help them out!
Thanks! Answered my questions. Just got new Jabra hearing aids and was very disappointed that the Front Focus was gone. Will be making a new appointment to have them do what you just described. Thanks again
My pleasure 🙏
i know this is late and thank you. i intend to replace Amaze 17 with Pro 20 and looking for transition to be seemless. Again, thank you, Brian
It’s great to see the tweaks you can apply to our Jabra app. Thanks for being there for us Brian! ❤
thats why I'm here my friend!
My pleasure! It’s there they just need to watch the video
I have the Enhance Pro 10 and Hear-in-Noise is the program I use most for my type of loss and would love to have the cone adjustment. Will your work around of adding a second Hear-in-noise and then use Autoscope work with my Pro 10? I hope the answer is yes. I saved this video to show my Costco HA
Thank you 🙏
Lou
Next, do a vid for dispensers on how to use the auto rem and get it to print the target view from otosuite afterwards 🙏
Heck ya, let us know how you make out.
@@HearingClub Thank you sir.
Just came across this channel. Awesome info, thank you! My Costco audiologist had added a program called "Crowd" which had the right settings so no I know now how to tweak it.
Thank you so much!
Well thank you so much my good sir!
Great explanations....very helpful. I picked up my Jabra Pro 20 two days ago!
Nice! And I’m glad to help!
Thank you, that was some great info !
my pleasure sir!
Thanks for your research. I'll have Costco change this at my next appointment.
My pleasure
@@HearingClub - I had the program change to get the adjustable speech in noise. At first it didn't work I had to delete and re-install the app. Now it works perfect. Thanks again.
This is amazing! I’m trying to set up a custom setting for teaching in a classroom and I need to narrow that front focus.
That’s great! Let us know how it all works out.
I could tell with the Rexton's.
yes, a dispenser is the person who programmed your hearing aids.
@@ArthurHays I'm going to tune in my brain for the next 2 weeks before mucking around. I have an appointment to see my specialist again on the 17th to check everything out.
Thanks!
my pleasure! and thank YOU so much for the support!
Another great video!! Just like everyone else I have a lot of problems hearing someone in a noisy restaurant/bar environment. Is the Jabra the best at eliminating this background noise or do you think the Phillips or Rexton would be better at this?
Jabra is better for this 100%
Thanks for clearing that up!
Any time!
My pleasure pat but the philips 9040 is already out
@@HearingClub But kind Sir, didn't you say that they were updating a few things. And You said it would be the greatest Hearing Air ever!. In you last video on 9040?
Or I am wrong? Thanks any way.❤
You have been a great help with deciding which hearing aid I wanted for my first time purchase.
Glad I could help!
My pleasure
Yup, no problem!
Great video! Is it not right that my Costco hearing aid dispenser only programmed all around on my Jabra pro 10’s and nothing else?
Will do, thanks!
Thanks Brian.... any idea what "Spatial Sense" is for?
That front cone is really nice. Is this available on the Phillips 9040? I received mine a week ago at Costco and thought this would be part of the “package” of all quality hearing aids.
I think it should also be a default option but it's not. The philips has a "speech in noise" mode but I don't think it works nearly as well and there is no adjustable cone
Great sleuthing Brian! Thanks!!
You bet!
I don’t always put my HA on when I remove them from the charger and if I hold them you get feed back, etc
Thank you!!
M2C2
Unfortunately, there isn't an option for that with the jabras or any of our current hearing aids, im sorry. And yes I'll add the forum tonight to the website and I'll have that all in there, step by step with pictures.
@@HearingClubWhat is the web address???
I was fitted with a new pair last week and there are three settings as on my previous pair of Resound. Maybe my Costco tech did the work.
Hey! Finally haha
I wouldn't worry about it. If you end up losing it, we can get it back using this method. And ty for the music tip
They are literally the same hearing aid man. The comparison video would be about 20 sec
On the Autoscope drop down you don't say which of the options to select: Narrow, Medium, Wide, or Autoscope. Should you select Autoscope?
No you don’t need to change or select a certain one, just selecting autoscope will give you that option in the phone
On the app it shows streaming devices some times which I use. Is there a way to bring it up if it isn't there?
nope, it only appears when you are streaming
Love your channel. Thanks so much.
You are so welcome!
One of the reviews I read of the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 said that it didn’t have tinnitus features. Is this true?
Ya I would wait.
I’d vote for waiting also! I love my Jabra 20s after 2 months!
I love my hear in noise program
thats awesome! me too
When I switch to the hear in noise program the sound is muffled and not as loud as the all around program. Is there a problem with my aids, settings or neither? Thanks.
How to get back the Music program? Can the second hear in noise be renamed?
It can be renamed and music can be added back
What is Audio Streaming? I just did what ever..and it will not go back to the original. .. thanks.
Well done bud!!
Why thank you!
Have you figured out how to add the front focus cone back without creating a second hear in noise program? Someone on here commented that their fitter was able to do it after jabra support walked them through it. Also, wondering if front focus will make a big difference. I'm not super convinced the hear in noise works well as is.
Ya you just change the mic directionality mode for the existing hear in noise program. I added a 3rd program so you can compare the 2

Any help?
No sir, the iPhones are better but even on my iPhone, the streaming isn’t that great. I have the same issues but only when my phone is in my pocket.
Will my ReSound TC streamer work with these new hearing aids? Also I have the "original" Jabra hearing aids, how long will these last? I'm guessing there will come a time when the batteries won't hold a charge. Thanks
I’m not sure how long they’ll last and which tv streamer are you asking about, the tv streamer 2 or the new streamer plus.
@@HearingClub Will the TV Streamer 2 work with the new Jabra?
Does this mean that there are zero differences between the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 and the Resound Nexia?
Yes you will have to ditch one of the other programs. If you don't hunt, I'd ditch outdoor, if you don't use the music program, which i don't, lose it
I’m having a problem with my Jabra Enhanced Pros when I receive or make a call on my iPhone.
You can change which microphone is being used for phone calls between the phone mic and hearing aid mic.
Is the Jaba enhanced pro 20 better than the Jarbra enhanced pro 10. I have time to return my pro 10 for the 20
Pro 20
Are these program option also available for the Jabra 10’s?
Yes
Can you tell me if there's a fix for the unreliability of the Bluetooth connection on Android. It's so glitchy I'm considering returning my enhanced pro 20
Thanks, great video
I have the Pro 10 How can I get the app that you showed on the screen in this video?
Go to the app store and search for "Jabra Enhance pro" and download that app. Then follow the instructions in my video on how to connect your hearing aids to your iPhone of that's what you have.
@@HearingClub that’s what i have but i dont have any of those screens
I’ll see what I can find yes
I just purchased my Jabra Pro 20 and I’m getting used to them. I downloaded the app, but it automatically connects Bluetooth to my truck or music into my ears when I don’t want it I cannot figure out how to disable it from automatically connecting. Please help me with this and on the app. It says you can swipe up from the bottomand the app does not seem to do that well at all I’ve tried to swipe up from the bottom, it doesn’t seem to work. I’m wondering if I’m the only one that had this problem.
What kind of phone, android or iphone
Sub'd Thanks!
My pleasure!
I love the “hear in noise” program - for the 1st 20-30 seconds. Then it just fades out and doesn’t seam to work anymore. Even the volume control doesn’t seam to work.
I’m not sure what that means exactly or how it “fades out” but you can always tell to your fitter and explain what’s going on
Which is the newest model? Select 300 or Pro 20?
Pro 20 for sure. And an overall better hearing aid. I will be uploading the video on this soon
How do I get to the all around program to make these changes
is there a link here.
My old Resounds had restaurant mode. My new phillips 9040 has a far inferiir speech in noise. Not even close to as effective. I may return my Philipps and go back to my old ha's which are working now.
thanks for sharing
Asked our Costco fitter is she could add the Speech Focus back in the app with a new program and she said she had no idea what I was talking about. Asked if she knew how to add another program to the app and she said no....we will get the usual 4 everyone else gets. Guess you are at the mercy of the person you get at Costco Jabra Pro 20's on order....here's hoping we get a knowledgeable fitter when they come in!!! Oh....she mentioned we may be able to find an audiologist that would help us modify our Costco hear aids......not counting on that.
What the heck!!? Are you serious?
I’m a bus driver…I need to know what’s going on BEHIND me…..will these work?
I would go with Rexton, they have a feature that allows you to hear directly behind you. Watch the Rexton app video
I want to give you a thumbs up but your at 777 thumbs up. I did sub hope that counts.
Thank you, it definitely counts and I appreciate it so much. 🙏
