Still of the opinion that a great company like Mazda could offer the power lift gate as an option on lower models such as the preferred CX-5. Subaru offers it as an option one up from base model on the Forester. The availability of the power lift gate for disabled people is really important. I know there is a chip shortage but I believe this was a poor marketing decision and will lose Mazda sales.
I agree there has to be some small light somewhere that good sacrifice it’s chip for the liftgate. I’m curious about the sales, but it’s too soon to know.
My 2019 CX-5 only opens a bit then stops. I suspect one of the lifters is shot. Can a person replace the powered lifters with manual ones? A new powered lifter is way too expensive to justify fixing it. My dealership had never had anyone ask about doing that and thought it wasn't possible, but if the connection points are the same I'm guessing it'll work.
Very possible. They may have to disconnect the module, but not sure about the handle and if it’s connected or not.
Does it include an alarm system on all trims ? I have an S, but not sure if the Alarm system is included by default
Just bought a 2024 cx 5 turbo premium and the liftgate stopped working day one. Took it to the dealer and they had no idea what went wrong. I disconnected battery to reset the module but it didnt help. So disappointing, hopefully i can get into touch with a mazda tech. Its impossible to find competent skill laborers now days. Dealership service department are a bunch of kids with zero training. Any ideas why it would just stop working?
On a 2023 CX-5 Carbon - I don't see any buttons in the vehicle or on the key fob - is there a way to add that to a new key fob in order to push it to allow the Walmart guy access to put my groceries in the trunk (curbside) or do I have to get out of vehicle and open it for him?

Yes, there is a liftgate button on the key fob.
My 2021 CE CX5 has the power lift gate. I heard you say 22 and 23 only?
They started removing this option with 2022 & 2023 models. You’re good!
What is the circle button next to the truck button. I click on it but nothing happens. The whole time I thought that was the truck button lol
Is there a way I can leave the power liftgate just slightly open? My previous Mazda had a manual liftgate and it was great for hauling a few pieces of flat 12 ft lumber sticking out the back with the liftgate held by a bungie cord for the short ride home.

Is this across all 2023 Mazda Models or only the first set of 2023s (not sure if I'm saying that right) My local dealership has some in transit, that don't have the liftgate credit on the window sticker and list it as an exterior option. I've been trying to decide between a 2023 VW Tiguan and a 2023 Mazda CX-5 Premium. It's crazy that it really might come down to the powerlift gate for me.
Yes, new production of CX-5 Preferred adds power liftgate back, on the windows sticker no more $160 (ridiculous low) credit. last 8 digit vin number starts from P0188xxxx, Jan 2023 productions, arriving to the ports late this month or some time next month?

No, all power liftgates can be operated with the remote.

I dont know the max. hight, but you can adjust it yourself!
