Can you please do a video on the safest neighborhoods and most dangerous neighborhoods? KC, MO has some of the highest crime rates in the country. We will be moving there but aren't sure where to / not to look based on crime.

One rule of thumb : If the businesses have bars on, or boarded up windows, and doors, look elsewhere.
There's also what I call "The Quik Trip rule."
Quik Trip is a convenience store chain based in Oklahoma. If there's a Quik Trip in the vicinity, that's a positive indicator that it's a relatively safe neighborhood. If it's not safe enough to accommodate their business model, they'll sell the store, and move out.

Our new airport is opening Feb. 28, 2023! It's still far out, but will have a lot more amenities.

Just a couple of counter-points here
All "Ride-KC" buses are now free.
The streetcar is in the process of being expanded south to the Plaza.
There is also a shuttle system for suburban areas where you can be picked up at your door, and then taken to a hub point where you can catch a bus to any part of town.
The airport was built long before today's security procedures were deemed necessary. The new airport is fixing all of the problems mentioned.
The airport is less than 20 minutes from downtown, and is easily served by the I-435 loop, and I-29. The airport in Denver for instance isn't exactly just down the street from City Hall either. Having jumbo jets making their approach over farmland, and parks rather than over residential areas is a good thing.
The Downtown Airport is cool that it's so close, literally in the shadow of downtown, but that runway isn't long enough to handle anything bigger than a Boeing 707.

I doubt you mean that the bus system is free. It never is. When I used to use it which was like 4 years ago before I moved to a place that no longer has buses. It cost a bit. I got a bus pass That way I wouldn't have to spend quarters all the time. I am now Miami County and we don't have buses.

    • @alanvallazza9781
      @alanvallazza9781 Год назад

This is what I found out. The pandemic which resulted in you having to wear masks for a while on the bus, resulted in RideKC buses being free. However that expires this year. And if you don't know Johnson County Kansas is part of RideKC. However it said Transit in KCK was already charging fees. No I'm not sure what they meant by freedom on demand or micro transit but they had charges too. It's 2023 anyway and it kept saying on the website that it would expire this year so that's all I know. I moved out of Johnson County, Kansas in 2019. Now I am in Louisburg, KS.

Reading this further it said but I don't know when this is written that because of COVID fares were suspended on buses on all RideKC buses, including those operated by KCATA, Johnson County, Kansas City, Kansas, and Independence, Mo. But I know that it began the fall of 2020. I personally haven't ridden the bus since the summer of 2019.

Suburban drivel. The streetcar is awesome and free for the 30,000 people that live downtown and the extension to the Plaza/UMKC will be running in 2024. New airport finished soon.
The worst thing about KC is the crime.

If you need a 4th worst thing...... It would have to be the number brainless morons with those overly loud and obnoxious "boom cars" that rattle your windows from 3 blocks away. Seriously, it seems like every 10th car in the metro has a 10,000 watt amplifier driving 22 inch sub-woofers in the trunk.

Oh here we go again, another person who thinks there's nothing to do in KC except sports. Kansas City isn't just about sports. There's plenty to do in Feb WITHOUT sports! You can ACTUALLY love living in KC and NOT be a sports fan! It doesn't close down in Feb, it's still open actually! Do you know anything at all about Kansas City? I can go out every night of the week and do something different each night, and none of it related to football or baseball.

Rach, I totally agree with you on the KC airport. I visit KC a lot from California and I have to say that KC has the worst airport I have ever been in. it is a terrible way to welcome visitors to town. It is like a concrete prison with zero amenities. I was so glad to hear from you about KC building a new airport terminal. I had to google it to find out more. I am so happy to find out that one of the coolest cities in the U.S. is getting a fantastic new airport single terminal to replace the 3 current terminals. It looks like it will be "open and airy" and have lots of restaurants and shops like you see in other major airports. That is really exciting. The pictures and videos I watched were really cool. The only downside is that it is still way too far north of the city. I usually visit Lee's Summit so it is a good 40 minute drive to Lee's Summit in the south side of KC after I land at the airport.

What's up with these realtors trying to use RUclips to get clients? We already have another person from Kansas City on here. But also found a realtor trying to promote Tampa.
