  • Star Wars The Power of the Force 1997 Kenner graciously made a poor man's alternative to the expensive Electronic Millennium Falcon of the time, in this handy carry case for your 3.75 inch action figures of the time. An old tradition from the Vader and C-3PO cases of the original toy line; this large vehicle concept allows you have have a fairly playable version of the ship with being far less in price. Plus they came with EXCLUSIVE action figures of the line as well, in Wedge Antilles and the Imperial Scanning Crew...guy...

Had the actual Falcon but it took me years to track this down and 2 of the figures of that came with it

I would guess many of the cases got tossed out, but the figures were still around enough to trade around thankfully.

_Star Wars_ had some rather nice carry cases over the years. Ever see the Darth Vader-shaped one for the *Bend'Ems* line?
Cripes, _Power of the Force_ figures always look like residents of Eternia to me. The sheer Ultra-Hench is a thing to behold. 😂

As I replace some of there Herculean figures, I save them back. Glad too because now I can show them in videos, then after I am packing them up to give away to some kids that just want some fun Star Wars figures to play with.
And I may have seen the Bend'Em one, but....lord to I hate Bend'Em...
I was grateful for a few in my day since it's all I had but they could be really disappointing sometimes.

@@MBXfilms There's some good detail for '90s era figures, must say. Aww, that's really nice. 😁
My good man, nobody likes _Bend 'Ems._ 😂 Cool in theory, terrible in execution.

I thought it was funny enough for a video, ha ha

Another great video, loved this carrying case and still have it. I 100% snagged it because it had my guy Wedge in there. I still have the slightly controversial opinion that the PotF 2 figs are so much fun and more toyetic than the later more screen accurate figs. Sure, they fit better in the ships but they felt way too scrawny to me.

I use to read a lot of young adult Star Wars novels and I remember Wedge fighting some green blobs in the "Galaxy of Fear" series, so I did love doing a few Wedge adventures with this figure.

I feel like nowadays there is this weird sense of embarrassment in a lot of toys, like aversion to action features; like they're ashamed of just being toys. Me, I even love that stupid R5-D4 they made that turns into a missile launcher!

@Takeshi357 That R5-D4 was sweet. I enjoyed him and all those old school spring-loaded missile firing features during that era. Aliens, Predator, The Shadow, and so much more had such fun bonus features to enhance play.
My favorite is something a little boring to some but I loved it. T2 line had a Power Arm Arnie figure with a hidden entendable "Spike to inflict heavy damage" and I *always* incorporated that into how he would defeat evil Cyborgs. Legendary.

@@puffinman1138The first youtube video I ever saw on the Kenner Terminator toys was a bunch of toy store guys complaining about them. Which I think kind of follows up on my comment about toys being ashamed of being toys, so many of the most vocal channels on YT are from guys to whom toys are a business, and I don't think there's a way they can be both a passion _and_ a source of money, because them being a business model will affect your judgement, like for them the T2 toys are worthless because they're not worth a lot of money, and then they simply find other reasons to trash on them, rather than just accepting them as fun, hardy toys and things like "screen accuracy" not being that big of a deal, especially since a lot of toy collectors take the hobby way too seriously, complaining about lack of ankle tilts and then their collections are just shelves filled to the brim with figures merely standing at attention because they haven't got any room for any other kind of posing.

@Takeshi357 I'm with ya and I get you don't have to be passionate about an item to make a profit off of it...but some of these channels are a little ridiculous. I get no joy watching unsuspecting toy owners try to sell their old items at a comic store or auction only to be told by the smug know-it-all owners that their stuff is worthless monetarily and sent away with $8 in store credit.
Same goes even for channels I still enjoy but ones that get waaaay too bent outta shape if their 1996 Jedi Luke Skywalker PotF2 figure is wearing a glove and vest which is totally film inaccurate. It's like...bro, they are mostly made for kids who don't obsess over that stuff. Don't they remember how little we cared back in the day if the highly detailed cover art for 80s and 90s era video games looked nothing like the in-game character?
Are there things to complain about our hobby and misguided/greedy toy companies? Definitely. But folks should just let it go and collect what you want. Toys are the totems of our imagination and that's why we still love em.
