French Onion is actually one of the easiest soups to make at home, and I wish more people knew that! I like it with the cheese browned and crunchy (almost burned!) on top, but always make extra cheese-toasts to serve alongside for dipping or just snacking. Can't go wrong with a good soup on a cold day! Thanks for this one!

Actually doesn't work that well, instead just don't breathe through your nose. It's more difficult not to breathe with your nose intentionally but if you manage it you won't get any tears for at least 3 or 4 onions.

This was perfect to make at home, was restaurant quality, and the best part was that my husband and I could each top our soup with our own cheese! I had Gruyere while he topped his with a non-dairy cheese. Rich and flavorful! (Also, super easy to cut the recipe in half for 2 people.) Thank you!

Excellent! I love French onion soup!
And it is just as important for your son to learn to cook as it is for him to learn to fish, shoot, hunt, and build things with tools! Good job!

For the onion tears prevention, dip the onions in cold water for 30 mins with outer layer peeled off.Pat dry over paper towel and keep happily chopping!! Much love from India 🌹🌹

French onion soup has always been my favorite soup, when I found this recipe on your channel, I can’t believe how simple it is, it takes a while, but it’s not as complicated as I assumed. I made it last night, it was a big hit, my daughter loved it, the cheese made huge difference. I have some leftover that I can have for lunch today. Yummy!

Hey Natashas Kitchen, I made your French onion soup and my family loved it so much. This is the best French onion soup that I have ever tried. The only thing I changed from the recipe is you use 1/2 teaspoon of granulated sugar, I used 1 teaspoon of it. Instead of using granulated sugar, I use brown sugar for a bit more flavour.

@@Natashaskitchen When I made this French onion soup, I used 1 teaspoon of brown sugar instead of 1/2 teaspoon of granulated sugar for the French onion soup. Does it make a huge difference to add brown sugar instead of granulated sugar to help caramelize the onions?
