You're absolutely right, I hadn't considered it: Darcy IS the perfect embodiment of the show. This same show went from haha funny frog show to having something literally get stabbed in the back in the same episode. It does balance seriousness and funny moments really well, so a villain that's all dark and serious one moment while then having a silly moment or two as well really embodies the show. So she really is the perfect villain for this show!

Yeah personally I got into The Owl House first, then watched all of Amphibia second. When I watch shows, I like to make sure I watch every episode. Funnily enough I actually wasn't crazy about Amphibia during the first few episodes. I only watched it cause I kept hearing good things about it and thought I should try it out. So glad I didn't drop it, cause now it's easily one of my favorite shows!

The fact that most of the beginning of the video is just you fanboying over Darcy and being unable to put it into words... Literally SAME, dude. Like, if I made a video on them I'd have the exact same reaction all the time. I think part of it is just because I love these types of stories, like you do. I'm more of a philosophy person, who aches to understand people, characters, and the type of situations that can bring them to their limits, plus the mind is one of my favorite things ever, which is why this theme specifically just kinda... scratches an itch in my brain. And of course, Marcy's my favorite character and I relate to her a lot which also really helped me like Darcy since they've got her quirks (but Marcy's not entirely in control, and I just love how complex that makes Darcy) I've been loving this whole concept ever since the first S3 intro aired and the theory was first formed; so I also partly am still in disbelief that this is happening.
I love just how deep everything goes. It feels like every day I discover some new info or interpretation that makes these characters so much more interesting and I love it.
About the memories thing, if they are taking this from a scientifically viable perspective, than you cant just erase long term memory without damaging the brain, the best you can do is compartmentalize it, which we suspect is what they did, shoving it to the back where it doesnt get in the way.
Ooh I didn't know about that, I suppose that could make sense, sort of like organizing files on a computer. Makes me wonder if Amphibia's technology and research into other worlds could let them delete long term memories without consequences. Perhaps heal the damage using mossman magic or something? I'm not sure.
So many people have said Darcy is using this episode to erase Marcy's memories when. Personally. I thought it was pretty clear that they were removing repeat memories between all the newts(?) within the core. Its a good chunk of Andrius' ancestors, these generations overlap. The core doesnt need to have two copies of each newts memories. Example being andruis' father would have repeat memories with adrius' grandfather, both being in the core. Those repeat memories would need to be wiped. Marcy's memories wouldnt really be repeating anything the core knows. And Marcy isnt code like the core is, Marcy would be properly stored in her brain while the rest of the Core is still the seperate core projecting itself through Marcy.
I think a lot of it had to do with the amphbian text saying "memory wipe in progress" (now revealed to be an error). I personally now take back the claim of Marcy losing her memory.
The way they balance funny and serious moments in the show makes me smile no matter what character. This is one of the reasons why I love Amphibia. I'm subscribing.

Now that the series is over it would be cool if you gave one more follow up video about Darcy and what your full opinions on her are now that the series is completely done and we have seen the last of her. Personally I think along with many other people that Darcy was really cool but needed way more screen time. I know you’re supposed to judge stuff on what you get and not what could’ve been but still. Darcy only got 10 minutes of screen time! Darcy what’s the one of the coolest ideas the show ever did and that’s all we got. Not to mention that most of that screen time was in All In. The end of “The core and the king” we got a hint that the core can change its voice to be the previous kings that joined the core because Aldrich said he was going to “join” the core. Meaning that one eye of the core is a family member that joined the core. Considering king Andrias lived to 1,000 years even though we don’t know how old King Aldrich is when he died I’d say the core is possibly 10,000+? Even though the core is done for I think that’s how long it lived up for.

I always hate when protagonists don't have a clue what they're up against until the very last minute in the season finale like in the Ducktales Reboot season 1 & 2. I just wish that Anne and Sasha would finally know that Marcy is their new ultimate enemy. Instead of giving focus to one of the major villians this season we got multiple episodes in 3a where Mister X embarrassed himself in front of the FBI and I don't see hoe the whole FBI storyline while come back in a meaningful way in this season except they do a "On your left!" in the final battle of this season.
I kinda really hope it’s not gonna be just straight up stopping a meteor It feels like it’ll be just another Phantom Planet all over again if they go that route (last episode of Danny phantom, felt rushed and came out of nowhere and is honestly the worst episode of the show)

Yeah in my opinion it's crazy how well the writers manage to strike such a good balance without distracting from the main plot.
