_I've been questioning this change for a while now & have seen others questioning it as well, so I'm finally commenting on it, _*_but;_** WHAT'S WITH SO MANY of the new thumbnails having the same template?* What's the point of it? *It makes the channel seem like it's... [what's the right word?]; cheap? (in terms of quality, etc.. [which it's not])_ but they're almost ALWAYS THE SAME;* _(someone being tied or restrained in some way & being threatened by the SCP)._ EVEN SOME OF THE OLDER VIDEOS, BETTER LOOKING THUMBNAILS, HAVE BEEN *POINTLESSLY REPLACED* WITH THIS TEMPLATE, *MOST HAVING AN ART STYLE THAT DOESN'T EVEN MATCH THE ONE USED IN THE VIDEOS **_(Which the one in the videos is FAR better)._* What happened to the *UNIQUE thumbnails* like; Smokey, SCP-3700 TIDES OF WAR, SCP-001 THE PROTOTYPE, OR THE MAN EATING BUS?? THEY'RE AMAZING LOOKING!! _(especially when compared with a few of the new ones)_ the ONLY video I personally think *this "new" template works very well with is the Militaristic Playdough.* (Kinda like a bunch of soldiers against a giant, & are trying to take it down any way possible & keep it down) ◀️ this is what I get from that specific videos thumbnail. All of the other ones with this template just seem vague (not in a good way, like being mysterious, but more like; "what the heck is that image trying to depict?" [Kinda like this video's thumbnail] {sorry}) I'm just trying to say, *the thumbnail of a video is (most times; VERY) impressionable towards the potential viewer* _(& any potential new viewers)_ & often the thumbnail alone, can tell quite a bit about the channel, it's quality, & so on & so forth. YOUR VIDEOS ARE AMAZINGLY DONE & VERY WELL MADE (ESPECIALLY YOUR COMMENTARY ON THE SCP & THE NARRATION OF THE STORY'S IN THE VIDEO'S) but _sometimes_ the thumbnail takes away from that aspect, when usually it's meant to add to it (before you even know what the video is completely about). So, could you at the very least, *_please give us a reason as to why older thumbnails are being changed & why newer videos thumbnails look VERY similar to each other?_*
I've explained it a few times already, but I can see that its getting lost. I am testing different thumbnail styles because the views overall in SCP genre are down. I have been doing a lot of A/B tests and these thumbnails seem to always perform better. If I want to keep making SCP videos, I have to figure out how to get more people to click on them; the average view duration is always good. If people just move away from SCP completely, I will have to move directions as well. So, in order to keep doing things in the niche I love so much, I am trying to adapt to stay relevant. It's honestly the people who are choosing to click them, not me making them. At the end of the day, it all comes down to marketing. You can have the best video, but if nobody clicks to watch it, then might as well not make it.

I really like how you introduce the SCP by showing how an encounter with them "in the wild" would look like, instead of jumping straight into the facts. Makes it much more obvious just how dangerous and scary these things are. Not just dry, scientific stuff, ya know?

While it's always nice to hear more of the script from the article itself, it's just refreshing to have an tale that coincides with the article; without it being too over the top or ridiculously speculative. SCP-906 (or really, anything pre- revitalization of the brand; the whole copyright debacle) is one of my favorites and I'm glad you covered it. It's one of the more simple SCP's but it has a certain "ick" factor that sets it apart from some of the rest. Also, slight dissent about thumbnails aside, I'm just glad that the quality of your content overall hasn't dropped off. Edit: Also, great attention to detail as always, and a nice little easter egg too. Was not expecting off brand TF2 Pyro to make an appearance lol.

I think that's why he tried to break the glass on the door. Being blown through an already damaged pane of clearly reinforced glass is a lot less lethal than one that's in one piece. That said, he may not survive the night given the burns and possible worm holes in his shoulder.

Everyone is complaining about the thumbnail being click bait. Is it really click bait if you get something of great quality in return? It's not like one of those Space Exploration shows that has titles like *"Huge 'Zombie' Alien Planet Rises from the Dead"* which really isn't as remotely interesting as they make it sound to be. If you're into Space Exploration it's a good read, but for an average guy it really isn't that enticing

Now, I'm not British...but the, "no, not the first editions" sounds like the most upper class British thing I can think of. He's under attack from an acidic worm monster and is throwing books at it to survive. But heavens, throwing the first editions? Ghastly! It just isn't done! I'm curious if the old man survived. I don’t think a lot of people realise that the content itself if incredibly high. Sure the thumbnail had to take a hit to help the channel keep going, but we still get great content.

it would be very smart if this SCP intentionally let a few worms break off and go off on their own, that way if the main colony dies, the sub colony that broke off could continue. think of it like an ant colony that sends another queen off to start their own hive, they start small but grow with time and success.

I think that's why he tried to break the glass on the door. Being blown through an already damaged pane of clearly reinforced glass is a lot less lethal than one that's in one piece. That said, he may not survive the night given the burns and possible worm holes in his shoulder.

Everyone is complaining about the thumbnail being click bait. Is it really click bait if you get something of great quality in return? It's not like one of those Space Exploration shows that has titles like *"Huge 'Zombie' Alien Planet Rises from the Dead"* which really isn't as remotely interesting as they make it sound to be. If you're into Space Exploration it's a good read, but for an average guy it really isn't that enticing

Now, I'm not British...but the, "no, not the first editions" sounds like the most upper class British thing I can think of. He's under attack from an acidic worm monster and is throwing books at it to survive. But heavens, throwing the first editions? Ghastly! It just isn't done!
I'm curious if the old man survived. I mean, yeah, he's not dead when the segment closes, but he's probably got some bad burns on his back from the explosion...some glass in his front from being blown through the door...and acid burns where the thing gripped him. The worms seem to have begun burrowing into his skin, so they could still be in there...

I don’t think a lot of people realise that the content itself if incredibly high. Sure the thumbnail had to take a hit to help the channel keep going, but we still get great content.

He could literally post the thumbnail as a white screen with the words "SCP-906" and you wouldn't complain. If you're subbed you'd still click it. If the thumbnail is your biggest grievance, then you need to reevaluate your life decisions. People don't go to youtube to see pretty still images, they come here for the videos. The fact that you place an image that you look at for 3 seconds above the quality video content itself that runs for 20 minutes says a lot about you.

it would be very smart if this SCP intentionally let a few worms break off and go off on their own, that way if the main colony dies, the sub colony that broke off could continue.
think of it like an ant colony that sends another queen off to start their own hive, they start small but grow with time and success.
