The US Military should pay 2 years of local service after Military service such as Americore. Veterans are highly trained and can bring young people together to do local, domestic projects such as clean up all the waterways; clean up all the streets/vacant lots of trash. Think about it. Plant millions of diversified forests. Put micro-solar/wind and water collection. Pay these well trained people to bring their skills into the communities so they are welcomed back and integrate back into civil society.

My husband was a Vietnam war vet. He used the M-16 grenade launcher and was a sniper. He saw a lot of horror and death. He was attacked when he came back to the States by rotten tomatoes and was protected by wire so he couldn’t be physically hurt. He told me he felt he was an outcast. If it were today, I believe he would have been groomed by the extremists. He definitely had some of the qualities that extremists wanted from him; unafraid, anger toward his own government, able to handle all sorts of deadly weapons and he knew how to kill. Thank God he had a supportive family and now has support through military support groups. He was the perfect man to be inducted into those anti government groups back then except he had love.

There is a book written by a man named Eugene Sladge that is an unvarnished personal account of what war is like. It's mostly teen aged boys who do the killing and the dying. Questioning authority, except in the most extreme situations, is literally against military law. If you train young people in this regime for years, it's understandible that they will internalize these values and incorporate them into their politics.

Veterans of WWI and WWII held on to their patriotism. With a few exceptions (bonus March asssaults in 1932), those veterans were accepted back into society with open arms. Starting with Vietnam, returning veterans often faced abuse and discrimination. Although the worst of that is muted, if not eliminated, returning veterans often face frustration (such as dealing with the VA), indifference to their injuries, the feeling that the government doesn't care or is hostile to helping them. Reduce the frustrations, care for the veterans and their families, and stop trying to demonize them, and you will see a reduction of the tendencies. Most veterans simply DO NOT CARE about someone's race. We get angry at those who would use violence (on.eithet side).

I never seen the documentary but I am of the opinion that these veterans believe they are upholding the Constitution since it was originally written by white slaveholders. The Constitution is more of an economic document than a political document. The first draft stated that the US government would protect private property, of the wealthy, and look after the interests of wealthy landowners and slaveholders. This rankled many people and Shay's Rebellion broke out. The wealthy elites defeated this rebellion with their own private armies. The Bill of Rights was later introduced which pacified most people. However, the long fight for amendments to the Constitution has given ordinary people more rights and the wealthy elites are not very happy about it which is why we hear the cry of returning back to where the US was once was. Fascism was introduced into the US in the early 20th century US by European immigrants. The doctrine was adopted by the KKK and other groups of similar minds. Fascism is the last ditch effort of capitalism to retain the wealthy elites political and economic power. After colonialism, imperialism came about with its exploitation of the Global South and has resorted to coups and assassinations to create puppet regimes. These regimes are very much fascist which we have already seen in Chile with Pinochet. I am of opinion that we are seeing imperialism turning inward since the capitalist class looks after their own interests. History has shown that the wealthy elites of the US had supported Hitler in building up Germany with its racist doctrine and controlling the workforce. That same doctrine is more overtly shown today in the US and Europe with their political policies and sound bites. My husband was a Vietnam war vet. He used the M-16 grenade launcher and was a sniper. He saw a lot of horror and death. He was attacked when he came back to the States by rotten tomatoes and was protected by wire so he couldn’t be physically hurt. He told me he felt he was an outcast. If it were today, I believe he would have been groomed by the extremists. He definitely had some of the qualities that extremists wanted from him; unafraid, anger toward his own government, able to handle all sorts of deadly weapons and he knew how to kill. Thank God he had a supportive family and now has support through military support groups. He was the perfect man to be inducted into those anti government groups back then except he had love.

I think that means they've all been sold already. I think they only have a certain amount of licenses and after those are gone they have to wait to receive more. The same thing that happens to most veterans. They went in as kids with no purpose and the military gave them a purpose. While they're there they see the dark side of humanity and resent those who sent them to fight against people that they have no personal problems with. The people who want anouther civil war need to study the last one. Kin Burns made a malti-part film about that horrible event in our history, it's very disturbing to say the least. There is a book written by a man named Eugene Sladge that is an unvarnished personal account of what war is like. It's mostly teen aged boys who do the killing and the dying. And those who suvrve are the ones who have to live with the mental tole it takes on them. I personly concider myself to be lucky to have been born into this country, as were my parents, grand parents, and great grand parents. We are a nation of immigrants! I personlly share a lot of the Native Americans spritual beliefs, In the way I think of the land and my place in the circle of life.

At a more fundamentally psychological level, the military is hierarchical and authoritarian and uses violence to achieve aims. Questioning authority, except in the most extreme situations, is literally against military law. If you train young people in this regime for years, it's understandible that they will internalize these values and incorporate them into their politics.

The historical roots for today’s insurrectionist movements are MUCH deeper… back to its colonial foundations. You can switch “Proud Boys” or “Free State of Jones County” with colonial militias. The underlying issues are the same. The American experiment is one of self determination and local rule versus subjugation by a distant elite. One of the most important things I have realized over the past 2 years is that from the far left to the far right Americans have far more in common with each other than we do with the political elites from either party. Left and right have the same values and goals we just express them in different ways. The phrase “my body, my choice” perfectly encapsulates this concept as it applies to reproductive freedom as well as medical freedom as a whole. We want the same things… to have the right to life, liberty, and to pursue happiness as we see fit… to be left alone, and to have a legitimate voice in how we are governed.
The political elites of today want the same thing as the monarchs of the 16th century wanted…. a population that is completely subjugate to the monarchs will. Our elites create fear and use that fear to divide us. When divided, we are no threat. This video and the documentary it features are propaganda designed to manipulate BOTH the political right and the left. It is designed to frighten the right into arming ourselves to protect our rights against the government and it frightens the left into self subjugation to the government in exchange for protection from the right. The ultimate goal of the elites is to get us to give up our ability to defend ourselves verbally or physically and become completely dependent on them. The elites use the exact same principle on issue after issue. Free speech/hate speech, abortion/pro life, lgbtq, etc. The elites do NOT want these issues to be put to rest. They want to use them over and over to divide us. I’m convinced that the abortion debate could EASILY be solved simply by passing a constitutional amendment that ensures medical freedom and confidentiality. Re the leaders of these groups -- How much are they just grasping for the authority and prestige they had (or saw others had) of being leaders in the military? I've experienced a sort of left-wing analog of this wherein (usually adjunct or assistant) professors start quasi-revolutionary discussion groups outside of their colleges. First of all, this documentary is a bit off balance and left-leanong. Historically, the KKK was NOT made up of veteran US soldiers, but ex-confederates who had fought AGAINST the US. Veterans of WWI and WWII held on to their patriotism. With a few exceptions (bonus March asssaults in 1932), those veterans were accepted back into society with open arms. Starting with Vietnam, returning veterans often faced abuse and discrimination. Although the worst of that is muted, if not eliminated, returning veterans often face frustration (such as dealing with the VA), indifference to their injuries, the feeling that the government doesn't care or is hostile to helping them. Reduce the frustrations, care for the veterans and their families, and stop trying to demonize them, and you will see a reduction of the tendencies. Most veterans simply DO NOT CARE about someone's race. We get angry at those who would use violence (on.eithet side).

I never seen the documentary but I am of the opinion that these veterans believe they are upholding the Constitution since it was originally written by white slaveholders. The Constitution is more of an economic document than a political document. The first draft stated that the US government would protect private property, of the wealthy, and look after the interests of wealthy landowners and slaveholders. This rankled many people and Shay's Rebellion broke out. The wealthy elites defeated this rebellion with their own private armies. The Bill of Rights was later introduced which pacified most people. However, the long fight for amendments to the Constitution has given ordinary people more rights and the wealthy elites are not very happy about it which is why we hear the cry of returning back to where the US was once was.
Fascism was introduced into the US in the early 20th century US by European immigrants. The doctrine was adopted by the KKK and other groups of similar minds. Fascism is the last ditch effort of capitalism to retain the wealthy elites political and economic power. After colonialism, imperialism came about with its exploitation of the Global South and has resorted to coups and assassinations to create puppet regimes. These regimes are very much fascist which we have already seen in Chile with Pinochet. I am of opinion that we are seeing imperialism turning inward since the capitalist class looks after their own interests. History has shown that the wealthy elites of the US had supported Hitler in building up Germany with its racist doctrine and controlling the workforce. That same doctrine is more overtly shown today in the US and Europe with their political policies and sound bites.
To make a long and complicated story short, we can see why we had tRump, Jan 6th and whatever is coming next. The fascist doctrine is evident in the Republican Party and Democrat Party. The Democrats have overturned a few Republican policies but the majority of them are still policy. Both political parties are Siamese twins.
