Sir I have a doubt as per your example 5:50 ramesh will have 1,02,859 rupees at the end. But suresh is having 10g gold jewellery. If we have to compare both ramesh should buy 10g gold jewellery by paying 15% making charges and 3% gst at 8858 per gram which amounts to 1,04,524.4 which is 1665.4 more than what he gained. So sgb is better only if we want cash at the end?
There is a catch.. in buying gold jewellery Suresh is spending Rs 65148.. if you buy SGB with that money, you ll get 11g.. which after 5 years will be 1.1L.. one can still put 1.04 L in jewels and have 6K more in hand.. anyway SGB is better..
