Hmm can’t agree my jackass for a friend told me that imperishable night was the best so after stage 4 I realised wasting my bombs on stage 3 and 5 was a no can do or stage 6 would shove bullets into me and cuz of the way IN works (you switch attack patterns when you hold shift cuz of this it alternated in attacking their (idk what it’s called but it’s a ball that makes other balls) so I have to hold shift all the time yukari attacks in a way that me dodging is near impossible same for Alice martigold remila can barely attack without very high movement so I’m stuck with yuyuko and youmu problem is that they are slow as duck (wow you read til here?) so every stage is pain.
Here's some Touhou tips for first-time players: * Focusing is a thing, and it can make you move slower for more precise movement. Use it. * Homing!Reimu is good for players who focus more on dodging than actually hitting the boss, while Needle!Reimu has a good damage/range balance. * Missile!Marisa is basically a stronger, faster, more precise Needle!Reimu, while Laser!Marisa has the most powerful bomb. * Other games also have different playable characters (typically, the last game's Stage 5 boss) with different shot types. * The difficulty is usually forgiving, but it spikes up starting from 4. * Stage 4 bosses tend to use different spellcards, or if the boss is a group (PCB, IN, DDC) they will have a different _character_ fight you. * Stage 5 bosses often have a gimmick to mess with you and make the fight even trickier. * Stage 6 bosses are _always_ immune to bombs on their final spellcard, but that shouldn't discourage you from deathbombing if you _really_ have to. * Using continues is fine, as it lets you learn how later stages will play out. Practice makes perfect!° * Many shots will, more often than not, be aimed at you. Dodging aimed bullets is as easy as inching to the side right before it hits you. * The playable characters have a very small hitbox, at 4 pixels for Reimu, and 5 pixels for everyone else. You can see your hitbox by focusing. * Grazing is important for getting points. You graze when a bullet touches your character, but not your hitbox. ° yes, I know that's a cheesy line, but it still applies.

If you want to start playing Touhou, I highly recommend playing Imperishable Night first. It's by far the easiest in the series. Some games to stay away from in the beginning, however. Touhou 15: Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, this game is infamous for it's difficulty, with the Stage 5 boss firing side-lasers and throwing moons, and final boss infamous for her simple-but-deadly attacks. Touhou 12: Undefined Fantastic Object, another game infamous for difficulty. If you play it like I do, then it's a game that basically gives out free lives, only to crush them all by late stage 4 and early stage 5. Also, curvy lasers. Touhou 11: Subterranean Animism, SA is infamous for having it's difficulty spike at Stage 3, meaning that the first two stages are relatively challenging for beginners (At least you get the wonderful theme known as Green-Eyed Jealousy out of it) only for you to be shit on by Yuugi.
Uhh Touhou 11, I can't stand with the stage 5, too hot.... It's fun when you play your first Touhou game with lunatic mode :D, just laughing when I get game over at stage 1.

I remember when I started playing Touhou around... uh... 5 or 4 months ago? I think so. I started with EoSD (like... everyone does?) I used to play this without focusing. 'Why did you do this?' Well... I always knew I could focus, but what I didn't know was that the *shift* button does that. Yes, I played this thing and I didn't know how to focus lol. After some time I realized that and I was like: "...oh you've gotta be kidding me." Since then, Touhou 6 became way... uh... less harder, and now I'm getting *really* close to beat Flandre (like... I lost with less than half of the Q.E.D. health bar remaining). ((quick edit: I DID IT AAAAAAAA--)) This video represents literally everyone in their first months of Touhou playing. (this comment is huge, sorry for that :v)
@@Glatier I am still fairly active, though it has been a while since I've last played EoSD specifically. This is what I can remember from the fight, so take it with a grain of salt- Something important to keep in mind is that the larger donut-shaped projectile's hitbox is actually a bit smaller than the sprite itself. The parts you should worry about the most are the colored and transparent areas towards the center -- the white borders should be safe. With that said, your main concern should be the kunai-shaped projectiles -- these can *really* catch you off-guard if you're not paying attention to them. Try sticking to the middle of the screen, as it filters the amount of projectiles you have to focus on. It also helps on dealing some extra damage. Maybe you can try staying a bit higher up vertically too, since it gives you some extra to work with, should you get walled (it also helps building confidence on your moves!)
" I've beaten sans before so this shouldn't be hard " Aha that what I said before playing this hellish nonstop shooting bullets too sir- *and I flip up at remilia normal mode*
Sometime it is OK to let the time runs out Because in this EoSD, in extra boss battle You going to fight with flandre scarlet, a vampire little sister from boss level 6
First time playing? These are my 5 problems at the first hour of touhou First problem: 660 FPS Second problem: i dont know how to start games Third problem: How tf I focus fire? Fourth problem: why isnt my char sucking scores and power even shes on the top? Fifth problem: which button let me use bombs?
I have no idea if this is real...if it is, you're pretty good. When I first played touhou, I didn't make it nearly as far as this. Love the onscreen cursor the entire time btw. It adds class and character. Lastly, I don't think people give Sans enough credit. Sure, touhou is harder, but I've beaten touhou on lunatic and not sans. Of course, sans is a very different genre of combat.
sans isn't a "2 million bullets being launched at you" and is brutal soul parkour and you dont get any master sparks or shenanigans like that so if you cant do parkour for 10 minutes straight you're dead
Moriya Shrine's pretty reputable, so it's likely some kind of computer glitch or DirectX problem. I'll do some fishing around and see if I can figure out the problem. OH and I forgot to say, cool video!
Thanks man, i appreciate it. Ive tried DirectX converter, it does work but still glitching sometime, at least it reduces a good amount of the glitches.
"I've beaten Sans before, so this shouldn't be that hard" Okay, one, bold words for someone within Danmaku distance, and two, if you thought Sans was difficult, then HOO BOY YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING YET.

I recommend Touhou 8. I know my comment is a bit late and a lot of other people have said the same thing, but it really is one of the better games to start with. For instance, you have a much larger window to use a bomb if you die than any other game (if I recall correctly). As a lunatic llayer, stay away from Touhou 15 and 11; they will destroy you. If Touhou 8 doesn't work out, try Touhou 10, Touhou 16, or any of the PC98 era games (1-5) besides Touhou 1, which plays differently than any of the other games. Hope this helps!
14:47 What background glitch? 3:15 Lasers as visuals are different from their hitboxes, so it's playing the animation even if the shot isn't firing, like what happened at 12:33

So your FIRST Touhou game was EoSD? That's one of the hardest games in the series! What can I say, you definitely had the guts to do that.
My first Touhou game was EoSD too, i also completed PCB on normal
"I have beaten sans so this should be that hard"
famous last words
meiling was my first favorite touhou character
"I've beaten Sans before this shouldn't be hard"
I've beaten several fangames (infamous for their ridiculous difficulty)
Touhou is still hard.
There are 8 years now since i play touhou
I remember when I started playing Touhou around... uh... 5 or 4 months ago? I think so. I started with EoSD (like... everyone does?)
I used to play this without focusing. 'Why did you do this?' Well... I always knew I could focus, but what I didn't know was that the *shift* button does that. Yes, I played this thing and I didn't know how to focus lol.
After some time I realized that and I was like: "...oh you've gotta be kidding me."
Since then, Touhou 6 became way... uh... less harder, and now I'm getting *really* close to beat Flandre (like... I lost with less than half of the Q.E.D. health bar remaining).
((quick edit: I DID IT AAAAAAAA--))
This video represents literally everyone in their first months of Touhou playing.
(this comment is huge, sorry for that :v)
Hopefully you're still active but do you have any tips on the Patchouli midboss?
@@Glatier I am still fairly active, though it has been a while since I've last played EoSD specifically. This is what I can remember from the fight, so take it with a grain of salt-
Something important to keep in mind is that the larger donut-shaped projectile's hitbox is actually a bit smaller than the sprite itself.
" I've beaten sans before so this shouldn't be hard "
Aha that what I said before playing this hellish nonstop shooting bullets too sir-
*and I flip up at remilia normal mode*
Round of applause for 9:15.
About time.... If it ends, it's good, becouse spellcard end, boss dies (if those spellcard was last) or midboss gone. That's not give a bonus.
“I’ll put it on normal”
You poor soul
Ahh... this was the scarlet mansion right ? The best characters of all Danmaku Girls.
Sometime it is OK to let the time runs out
Because in this EoSD, in extra boss battle
You going to fight with flandre scarlet, a vampire little sister from boss level 6
"THIS GAME IS HARDER THAN UNDERTALE!" Said everyone who played Undertale before TouHou..
"never give up"
*gives up and restarts*
Playing th6 on win10 be like: 1:53
You will slowly and surely get better as you play, I'm at the point where I can get to stage 5 without a continue
All because I kept trying
I actually never used bombs in touhou...
Even if they're life savers I'm a masochist lol
"I've should've press bomb."
-Eggcellent 2017
I cant Imagine what happened when he got the stage 5
Lol, I started EoSD yesterday and have yet to reach Patchouli because I refuse to use continues and I also use way fewer bombs than you do 😂😂
i dont think that's the first time you play touhou cos that was amazing outstanding move for starter
NOTE :i played touhou and now im lunatics i can judge people who the pro / beginner B)
the first timer usually can even pass stage 2 even after beating sans
First time playing?
These are my 5 problems at the first hour of touhou
First problem: 660 FPS
Second problem: i dont know how to start games
Third problem: How tf I focus fire?
Fourth problem: why isnt my char sucking scores and power even shes on the top?
Fifth problem: which button let me use bombs?
I have no idea if this is real...if it is, you're pretty good. When I first played touhou, I didn't make it nearly as far as this.
Love the onscreen cursor the entire time btw. It adds class and character.
Lastly, I don't think people give Sans enough credit. Sure, touhou is harder, but I've beaten touhou on lunatic and not sans. Of course, sans is a very different genre of combat.
True. Sans is hard, I’ve tried.
And I can’t even beat touhou on normal mode...
sans isn't a "2 million bullets being launched at you" and is brutal soul parkour
and you dont get any master sparks or shenanigans like that so if you cant do parkour for 10 minutes straight you're dead
EASY MODO
AHAHAHAHA
Maybe the background glitched because you have a bad or missing file? Where'd you download the game from?
Rachel Nelson I download it from moriyashrine.weebly.com
Moriya Shrine's pretty reputable, so it's likely some kind of computer glitch or DirectX problem. I'll do some fishing around and see if I can figure out the problem. OH and I forgot to say, cool video!
Thanks man, i appreciate it. Ive tried DirectX converter, it does work but still glitching sometime, at least it reduces a good amount of the glitches.
I think it "glitched" because you ran into Rumia so she killed you
Remember to not run into bosses next time ;3
QuagsireQuagQuag QuagQuag sure xD
sans, kidding me dude LOL
"I've beaten Sans before, so this shouldn't be that hard"
Okay, one, bold words for someone within Danmaku distance, and two, if you thought Sans was difficult, then HOO BOY YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING YET.
If your friend saying that Sans is the hardest boss ever, show him extra stage gameplay.
3:02: "IT'S HARD NOW"
hahaha...
*Just you wait.*
In the minds of all new Touhou players haha
"i've beaten sans before so this shouldn't be hard"
oh this video is THAT old
"looks at video.......laughs in extra stage"
One question remains...
Have you finally done the laundry yet?
Nah, first timers don't use shift
"Ive beaten sans before, this shouldnt be too hard"
Rumia: *laughs in stage 1 reset*
Cirno: *laughs in strongest*
Meiling: *laughs in chinese*
Sakuya: *laughs in time stop*
Remilia: *laughs in youtube*
Flandre: *laughs in best video*
"HAHAHAHHAHA HE CAN'T EVEN BEAT RUMIA! HAHAHAHHAH"
-Guy that dind't play touhou
I recommend Touhou 8. I know my comment is a bit late and a lot of other people have said the same thing, but it really is one of the better games to start with. For instance, you have a much larger window to use a bomb if you die than any other game (if I recall correctly). As a lunatic llayer, stay away from Touhou 15 and 11; they will destroy you. If Touhou 8 doesn't work out, try Touhou 10, Touhou 16, or any of the PC98 era games (1-5) besides Touhou 1, which plays differently than any of the other games.
Hope this helps!
check the controls before you play people
"Ive beaten Sans before so this shouldn't be that hard"
This is gonna be good. :)
14:47 What background glitch?
3:15 Lasers as visuals are different from their hitboxes, so it's playing the animation even if the shot isn't firing, like what happened at 12:33
14:47 the background is supposed to look different...
I can beat this game on hard now but after watching this video I felt like I want to go back to these days of being new to the game. I surely felt defeated for not passing Stage 5. But that gave me a sense of trying everytime. Nice harsh days they were.!
My first tawhoe game was SA, I regret my friends existence
I'm just glad you started with PCB instead of SA lmao
I remember my first touhou series
It was Subterranean Animism, damn you Oku.....
11:46 it's funny cause you died so it's "scary intense music" while in my head it's "scary fireball time music" =p
watching him get hit by that at the start be like
