I test drove the Cybertruck today. (Im an owner of a 2024 R1S Quad) Both vehicles are great, but I don’t think the Cybertruck is “better.” I actually think Rivian has better handling and has better UI. Definitely won’t be trading in my R1S for a Cybertruck. (Dont get me wrong, both a great vehicles.)
I honestly couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or serious about "going back in time". Physical gear shifters and blinkers are objectively better. There is no debate here. Also, feeling your wheels on the road through the steering wheel is simply required when doing offroad driving or anything related to performance.
I'm seeing more cybertrucks, but the more I see them, the less I like them. In contrast, the R1S looks classy and modern, and will take you camping ie sleep inside with room to spare.
lol if the squeak is bad my Tesla became a rattle can by 6 months. center console didn’t stay closed. I’ll get a EV again but it needs to feel premium and the premium brands don’t have any EVs I want to buy.
Wait until one of the wheels falls off your CT when you go over a speedbump too fast. CT was rushed and shipped unfinished, so build and engineering on the Rivian - especially the Gen 2s - are light years ahead. I'd rather have a physical control for something as safety critical as which direction the vehicle is going to move... haptics aren't "the past" - the more we learn, the more we realize, they were the right solution in the first place.
how do you justify multiple recalls of cyber truck? the fact that rivian feels more like a car where actual buttons matter. In a split second you may need to switch gears or do something that with tesla it takes a lot more time. I think putting your fanboy feels aside you would see more of the shortcomings of Tesla Cybertruck specially for that price point that fact you just got a screen in the middle and not even one in front of you and the disappointing range are just not worth it. I mean if future is in shape of a trash can I have no more words but if it is a different future cybertruck is not representing it.

I own both R1T and R1S, and test drove Cybertruck. I agree, CT rides smoother, rear wheel steering and steer by wire are game changers. CT is a better vehicle for 90% of consumers

Stuff like that can be fixed with software updates. But the hardware on the Cybertruck is what wows me.
