@@AhhSlickerz I think no one said anything because they thought they might feel bad for saying something. Gears of War 2 is objectively the worst in the trilogy and people turned a blind eye to it because the new players that were brought in enjoyed the larger scale of the game. Bigger does not mean better. Epic Games reduced the speed of the mechanics for Gears of War 2 such as the Lancer having a slower rate of fire, the Gnasher having a slower rate of fire in addition to them audibly sounding slower, weaker and messed up basic physics such as them making characters run at a slower pace than a character rolling. In addition to these things, the turning movement and walking speed were visibly slower than Gears of War 1 and the visual aesthetic to the realism was watered down like how realistic death animations and blood looked. Gnasher fights in multiplayer were butchered by adding hit scan as opposed to being able to properly lead your shots in favor of being noob friendly by allowing the gnasher rounds to almost automatically hit enemies if they were in your general direction as opposed to accurately aiming down your sight. The connection was the laggiest out of the trilogy.The soundtrack was bombastic and annoying almost all of the way through and the writing was worse as proven by the fact that Gears of War successfully introduced Raam as the main villain of the game where you actually kill him at the end, whereas Gears of War 2 made it seem like Skorge was the main villain and the fight was completely dictated by the plot where after you damage him enough in that cat and mouse style fight, he falls off of a reaver and dies instead of you actually killing him. I could go on about how bad Gears of War 2 was, but Gears of War 3 was better just by the speed and graphics in spite of how annoying the exploding imulsion enemies were.
I remember discovering the quick chainsaw, and the silent roadie run/chainsaw. I still argue the quick chainsaw was intentional. But the roadie running and jumping into an enemy to make them instantly explode definitely was not.
Idk how I came across this video but holy fuck the nostalgia I just experienced is out of this world. I can't begin to even imagine the hours of my life I gave this game and I'd do it all over again any day of the week. Games just don't feel like this anymore..
Best multiplayer experience of all time. I spent way too many hours of my teenage years playing this game. Im 30 now and i still play ultimate edition all the time but there's something special about this game that i dont think will ever be truly matched. So many good times and memories. Cant wait for E-day, hopefully they make it more similar to this game than gears 5.
But this game at least online is just about shootguns. Every damn video I see about this shotgun, shotgun, shotgun... I am the same as you but with The last of us Factions, best online ever. Not this shotgun simulator

I see people talking about gears 2 a lot and wonder what they are smoking.. gears 2 since launch you would constantly glitch around the map.. and it was never fixed.

If you're the best player and you're not on his team, he will kick you out of the game so that he can get a win. (And he still never wins) i've had it happen to me and several others. Don't join his game.

Sorry for the late response, I'm on xbox series x and there's only one version of gears 1 ( Apart from the pc version ) and that is the xbox 360 version. Gears of War 1 is apart of xbox's backwards compatible service which allows Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S to play a 360 game.
Are weekends the best for finding some packed games, I’ve been trying to get back into it and looking for some good players to play with, I do recognize a lot of the GT’s that I see you’re playing with!

Agreed. The studio needs to go back to the original 2006 sound effects. Gears 2 and forward ruined the lancer and gnasher's speed and sound.

This game is an Epic masterpiece. Just too good. Broken and glitchy but just has that classic dark feel to it.

This is the og gears of war 1, Not UE. UE usually only has players during 12:00pm to 8:00pm about.

Gears UE is definitely a little more populated, TDM only. But Gears Og is definitely way better. You can find games on Custom player match.
