Cornette is without a doubt the most amazing kind individuals I've ever encountered! I bought his Figure signed when they first came out and I took a picture with it which his amazing beautiful wife stacey saw it. At the time I was very poorly being fed through NJ tube coming out my nose and had been solely tube fed for over a year! The next thing I know I had a package arrive for me with about £400 worth of Jims shoot interview DVDs, some signed pictures, a hand written letter and £100 Nandos voucher to pay for mine and my wifes first meal once I could eat again finally! Thats the only time I have cried because of someones kindness! Jim's an amazing guy! I'm just a lad from Newcastle! I cant explain how much much that ment to me at that time!

Jim is a fan of punk & "alternative" music as his wife is a Goth. No kidding, black hair, lunch box and overweight(used as a descriptive manner only.) Skinny Puppy, Bauhaus and Jesus & Mary Chain. When I met his wife ; all she wanted to talk I about was music. Nice person.
I set here thinkin the same thing! 😂 I’d pay for mine and Jim’s ticket jus to see him watch and react to something like Manson, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, or god forbid GWAR...then mix it up and take Jim to see Miley Cyrus, Cardi B, Tyler Creator, Steve Aoki throwin cake in the crowd

The Headbangers are definitely one of the most underrated teams ever. I remember when I got WWF Attitude, they were the only two people I didn't recognise in the game, so it piqued my interest. Certainly following Raw from 1996-1997, they were one of the teams who freshened up the tag division after endless matches between the Smoking Gunns, Bodydonnas and Godwinns, and seemed to be over pretty much instantly. I was going to ask have you considered interviewing Ultimo Dragon? He's always been my fave wrestler, but doesn't seem to have ever done a full length interview in English. Most of what I know about Ultimo has been what Jericho talks about in his book.

As much as people say Cornette is too old school, New Jack, The Headbangers, and Tracy Smothers gimmicks were pretty cutting edge.
Good observation. I also remember a promo from the Dirty White Boy where he had a gun, during his feud with Tracy Smothers. The guy was a great heel.

I agree. But for purposes of being a tool. New Jack, the head bangers and Tracey smothers are all 25-30 year old gimmicks. It’s old school now.
He’s not out of date, he just doesn’t like wrestling being to over the top silly, there is definitely room for silliness but some guys now days jump the shark, the other thing is constant moves and high spots, he would just like to see more psychology in matches. And when AEW for example do slow things down and have guys work the was Corny likes, it ends up being some of their best stuff, like MJF vs Darby or Punk vs Kingston, no need for 20 thousand flips and a dozen false finishes like the Bucks do in every single match they ever do….ever, that’s boing to me. I would rather watch Bret Hart and Steve Austin in a serious match than 20 Mexican minis in an exploding ring of death barbwire horned bull, blindfolded lumberjack losers have a sex change match.
@@troystaunton254 yeah but even today people say Cornette just likes "southern rasslin" which all those gimmicks weren't that. Even Smothers wasn't the "normal" good ol' boy stereotype.

Headbangers were my favorite growing up. Wish WWF did more with them... I remember whenever a WWF game came out, first thing I would do is pick the Headbangers to wrestle with.

The headbangers were so OVER with everyone I knew, they should have been more competitive with top teams. I remember being upset when the headbangers would get destroyed by a team like the acolytes

I've found quite a few SMW shows on RUclips, it's a shame it wasn't more successful. It was so well booked, the storylines made sense and there was more of a focus on in ring action than on lengthy promos. It was "old school" but ahead of it's time at the same time.

I love ya brother, but they don’t have Cajun accents in Tennessee lol. I’m in Alabama and I’m sure a southern accent all sounds the same to people from Europe but Cajun is a Louisiana thing. Probably how Americans butcher British accents and can’t tell the difference in the different regions
I’m sure Cornette had described some of their fans Cajun when they went further south. SMW never ran Louisiana but maybe somebody knows where Cornette said that. Maybe it was a couple of girls who worked there or something.
@@WSI theres no telling. He worked the Midsouth area which ran all the Louisiana towns so he might’ve mixed the two together. Both areas were known for VERY country/southern fans (I’m from Alabama so I can’t make fun lol) with strong accents. I definitely wasn’t trying to be “Carl corrector” here. I understand southern accents aren’t that different to people outside of the south.

I loved when Mosh had a brief run as Chaz before the idiotic Beaver Cleavage run (I recall be wore some shorts that looked a bit like Boxers and he got squashed by Dan Severn)! He showed off some awesome innovative moves like a DVD with opponent facing up on his shoulders instead of the usual down!
An Inverted DVD like that is Kenta Kobashi's Burning hammer.

It’s mainly Louisiana. I’m in Alabama and what people here call “cajun” isn’t actually Cajun. It’s actually native tribes and mixed with native. My family gets called that all the time and it’s nowhere near a Louisiana accent. As close as we geographically it’s definitely different.

I’ve lived here my entire life, I still live here, aside from people moving here from Louisiana there isn’t a large population with “Cajun” accents. The mountain people, Tennessee/Kentucky/West Virginia aren’t Cajuns. It’s silly to even suggest that. He made a mistake in his commentary. Not a big deal.
