Personally I enjoy quilt and fabric both equally, I just don’t like how most mods that should be on fabric are on quilt instead, though, fabric x quilt is nice, if it lasts forever.
I don't really see what you mean by most mods that should be on fabric, quilt is meant to be the future of modding more so than fabric. It's better that mod developers migrate to quilt sooner than later due to it quite literally just being a better fork of fabric.
I don't really see a point to this loader. It just looks like they had personal disagreements with the Fabric team and made their own loader with nothing unique or better to offfer.
That's how I see it aswell. Quilt does nothing to Minecraft-modding except splitting the mod-community. It's already bad enough that not all my preferred mods are running on a single modloader, quilt is making it worse.
Hi Xhomie - yes I think you maybe thinking in the right direction. something like that probably did take place! yeah they are both the same. our problem as consumers is going to be when mods start choosing platforms and we can see it now with mods like OK Zoomer which is now a Quilt-only mod... and i think it started out as main Fabric mod.
For now Quilt is mostly compatible with fabric, but they already said that that will change :( I wonder how many people will be surprised when their fav mod suddenly stop working in Quilt. Not everyone is reading or watching about the tools they use, they just want to play the game.
@@gamerpotion OK Zoomer is the reason I actually decided to check up on Quilt. It used to be the go-to Fabric Zoom mod but I guess they have other plans
Hey thats a good question! From what I read on their website, it looks like users of Fabric were not happy with the structure so they branched off into a new team from the looks of it.
There should be a mod loader that lets both forge and fabric work together that would be awesome just like magma but instead of just plugins both forge and fabric
its very hard because these modloaders are the opposites: Fabric is lightweight but reqiures many libraries for mods to work, and forge is heavy and doesn't require many libraries, but it updates very slow. This will be impossible because modloaders are both built diffirent
question!! If I move over to Quilt, will I still be able to play with the fabric mods I use for fabric? I have a whole bunch of mode (around 100) and I wanted to get Effective and Illuminations too but it seems like the only way is if I install Quilt which is pretty annoying sadly
This video was very differently made, you should keep making these type of videos. Btw I get unstable fps in this mod loader even with sodium, can you plz explain why?
Idk man when I used fabric with mods that specifically improve performance ( yes I tweaked my pc as well ) I got only 163 fps avg on a rtx 2060 with intel 705 something. This is without shaders or anything just plain Minecraft at 8 chunks. I used quilt with atlauncher and got over 264 fps avg without a single performance mod with the chunks siting at 10. Note I was in a jungle biome and a big one at that. I changed nothing in the settings and here is the overall result of the tests I did: Fabric with all mods and pc tweaks: 157 avg. max at 193 With quilt and no mods or tweaks: 293 avg and max being at 627. Mostly when playing it was around 400. With quilt andmods it dident seem to change much all it did was improve stability and improve avg fps. The new avg being 374 and max being 716.
Hey! Lol been a very long time...anyways, what's up rick :) How are you man!? also I have been pretty dead in MC haha and congrats on hitting 6k subs!! :D
I hate their different mod loaders, I do not need more. Yes I love the idea devs are comfy but also I like to see every single mod in the same mod loader why ? cuz Now if mods spread around the loaders I have to choose carefully what type of loader I should use, that means either I have to miss some mods or play on an older version.
After 4-5 minutes I give up on this video since you've only talked about Quilt being more or less the same as Fabric and no indication that you'll mention any of the differences. Quilt must exist for a reason after all.
Hey, modrinth is sort of an alternative to curseforge.. its easier to use and see which mods are updated recently but curseforge still maintains the largest amount of mods ;)
hi, you have to download the quilt mods as shown in video you have to go to the modrinth website and filter them, then just put the mods into the mods folder of your minecraft directory. what launcher are you using?
Jesus i came here for a breif understanding of the hell is quilt loader not a dictionary summary i got bored half way through the vid as i hate people that just keep talking also i do admire that least you are putting the cards out there so i am least liking your vid
Come on man, pretend people don't know how to install mods for minecraft. 🤣 You are seriously all over the place. I've installed mods on other games, and I can't follow any of this
i really do not understand why Quilt got made, forge has been really bad for a long time, especially on more recent version, optifine is one of the mod that is built the worst yet it super popular, but now that Fabric exists, theres not much to tweak, fabric fixed all of the issues forge had (everything pretty much lol, lets be honest, forge existed only because it had a lot of mod and was the only option, by 2-3 years its gonna die due to it not fixing itself), Quilt doesn't have any reason to exist other than it being very open-source
Personally I enjoy quilt and fabric both equally, I just don’t like how most mods that should be on fabric are on quilt instead, though, fabric x quilt is nice, if it lasts forever.

@@hex697 makes sense.
@@hex697 Wdym it's "the future?" It's two different dev teams.
@thatguypete7149 Well I wouldn't say different. Some of the quilt team were fabric developers who left fabric due to the drama.

Quilt has some additional improvements for the developer.
Why actually it exist? Is fabric not enough? I dont understand purpose of that loader.
Hey thats a good question! From what I read on their website, it looks like users of Fabric were not happy with the structure so they branched off into a new team from the looks of it.
Yes i am also thinking about this
There's also LiteLoader, Rift and Risugami's ModLoader, so there weren't just 2 loaders :D
ah yeah 2 modern version ones*

It already exists. It's called Architectury.
Never saw that mod loader. Nice video ;)
Becouse its new, beta started week ago

most fabric mods are comptible with quilt
This video was very differently made, you should keep making these type of videos. Btw I get unstable fps in this mod loader even with sodium, can you plz explain why?
Hey thanks! :) hope you enjoyed it, I will try to do some fps testing with sodium and some other mods on all 3 loaders soon
The Modloader is currently in Beta and that will be fixed in the first Release I hope.

After 4-5 minutes I give up on this video since you've only talked about Quilt being more or less the same as Fabric and no indication that you'll mention any of the differences. Quilt must exist for a reason after all.
The reason is the toxicity of fabric. Also quilt has gotten some features that are not in fabric, which is nice to see.
It's a crime you are using light mode on Modrinth
Haha :D oh yeah for some reason on firefox it shows the light version, on chrome however its the dark mode ;)

What is the mod that shows you what block your looking at?
Hi, that is called WTHIT
when i open the quilt jar for minecraft launcher it just stays loading and i cant click install
same prob
Hey, whenever I try to install it, it just says "loading" in the mc & loader versions, any tips?
I used the .jar installer and it worked. I got the same issue with the windows installer.
I think its will be better mod loader
