This whole "I've never seen women get excited enough about women's sports" bit is really silly. Living in MPLS I've seen the Lynx routinely make the postseason and win more championships than the Twins, Timberwolves, and Wild put together. There's a whole sports bar here that just shows women's sports, and it's been a huge success in the short time it's been open. Even the Frost, the brand new women's hockey team, sells quite well here, and that league is in year two of existence! Let's not forget the long tradition of excellence in NCAA sports for women. There's decades of precedent there, too. People do support women's sports. Is it to the degree of men's sports? No. Will baseball get overshadowed by the WNBA? I don't see that happening, but will it compete for eyeballs? Oh yeah.
