Every time I hear this story about Peter and Paul it’s always amusing to me how while Paul was in the right in correcting Peter; his equal flaw in the interaction is overlooked. The man in my opinion obviously had his struggle with ego.
But therein lies the story of humanity. Two sinners trying to grow and help others grow in Christ. Anyone with understanding knows the way you approach a situation has to be with tact. Jesus did that constantly. Tact and context. Peter could have easily rebuked Paul for attempting to make himself the greater follower by trying to correct someone in front of a crowd vs approaching a brother on private to settle a dispute as instructed.
If anything actually what I get from this is Peter had obviously grown in Christ to where he could react humbly vs the ego centric approach Paul eagerly chooses.
