Boomerang was awesome!! It was such a big part of my childhood that I forgot about now as an adult. Watching Boomerang with my Uncle as a young elementary school kid and seeing the classic cartoons Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear, Tom & Jerry for the first time. Looking back it was definitely a pivotal moment for me in my life. Because now that I think back about that time. For me it kicked off my love of pop culture/entertainment. Certain films/TV shows from my childhood (Nick, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel). Certain books I would read in elementary school and beyond. (Diary Of A Wimpy Kid/Magic Treehouse/Freddie Fernortner/Garfield/Calvin & Hobbes/Certain music and artists I like. (Primarily Old School Hip-Hop & R&B). I grew up listening to Michael Jackson, 2Pac, The Beatles, Bob Marley as a kid. But anyway watching the Boomerang Channel and being introduced to all the classic cartoons of Hanna Barbera has truly shaped me into who I am. Of being inquisitive about things/always wanting to know more not just about classic cartoons/animation. But anything related to pop culture and beyond. Thank you William Hanna & Joseph Barbera for being a part of my childhood through the classic cartoons and shows you created.

Although I was born pretty late into the 2000's, I still remember watching Boomerang in it's prime. I remember watching Johnny Bravo and other shows, even including The Amazing World Of Gumball (As you mentioned). The old bumpers were in my opinion the best bumpers I ever seen for a TV Network (besides CN City), and I really wish that the old, retro style would come back. Now they hardly air classic shows, and when they do, it's mostly at night, when most kids are asleep. Boomerang has really taken a turn for the worst, but I think if they just changed some times of the older shows, then they could change, a little a least. It's all coming back to you...
I haven't watched Boomerang since 2009. Wow, I remember watching Wacky Racers every morning, getting ready for school. I don't know if I could sit down and watch those cartoons these days but it's nice to have the memories.
Boomerang today is just like Cartoon Network. It lacks variety. Sad to hear it's more focused on the app. Man the bumpers and songs were so good! It gave out more personality.

Watching Them Now Makes Me Miss It Now.
i am in the uk and i had a different boomerang logo to yours in 2004. and the bumpers and shows were amazing. it's pretty sad the old style went away in 2015.
I remember watching the old cartoons on boomerang all the time both my family member and I enjoyed our time together. Both of us used to enjoy watching Johnny Bravo who can’t forget the dance both her and I used to do it all the time because we liked it I still see my 8 year old self doing it in my mind with a smile and laughing at the same time while having fun.
omg yes The countless rebrands the international versions got proves it In fact we are stuck on an older branding package, and I wish we instead got the 2012 one. Plus it's suffering the same issues it had pre-rebrand... bumpers airing over and over again
Boomerang did start showing old(old for the time, this is like the 90s-2000s stuff) shows again but only at midnight, when anyone who could be exposed to it for the first time is well asleep. It kind of feels like they're hiding it under piles of scooby doo and looney tunes marathons
I remember the time when Regular Show aired on Boomerang a year after ending. It was a little hilarious seeing less-subtle adult jokes from season 1 on there.
I remember the Boomerang Channel. When I was either 5 or 6 years old, whenever I went to my dad's house on the weekends, I would watch The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, etc. on the Boomerang Channel. Even when I came home from school in 5th Grade, I would watch shows on Boomerang right after I got my homework done. Boomerang is still one of my favorite TV channels that I love watching today. I just wish they brought back the old cartoons, especially Popeye. I have to agree that the new boomerang is worse than it was before. It's terrible. The classic cartoons are much better. I also remember the old bumpers, too. The classic Boomerang Channel brings back so many memories. Now I'm feeling nostalgic. This channel was my childhood.

Luckily MeTV has acquired some of the old cartoons including two Hana Barbara shows (those being the Jetsons and the Flintstones) as well as the original loony tunes, Tom and jerry, and Popeye shorts and they also recently acquired the pink panther shorts as well as its multiple spin offs. They show them on every weekday on a 1 hour block called “Toon in With Me” at 7 am, and every Saturday morning with a three 1 hour blocks called “Saturday Morning Cartoons” from 7 o’clock to 10 o’clock am. They show the Jetsons and the Flintstones on every Sunday from 10 am to 11:30 am (3 episodes of the Flintstones and 1 episode of the Jetsons, probably because they made more episodes of the Flintstones than the Jetsons). The only catch is that MeTV is pretty much only on Spectrum cable.

@@medora2499 - Sometime after you uploaded this video, on September 7, 2020, four of Cartoon Network's retired shows have returned to the Boomerang channel. The shows that have returned are as follows: 1. Dexter's Laboratory 2. The Powerpuff Girls (1998) 3. Ed, Edd n Eddy 4. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends If you didn't know, Boomerang has the tendency to bring back certain shows on the channel after a few years without airing (whether if the shows are retired from Cartoon Network or not). So I guess you could say that Boomerang today has not only become "Cartoon Network Junior", but at the same time, remain as the "old-folks" home for Cartoon Network shows.
@Medora: While I respect your opinion on saying at 3:42 that Boomerang today has basically become an imagined “Cartoon Network Junior”, I personally think that the Boomerang channel (both past and present) acts ALMOST like an imagined “Cartoon Network 24/7” since the main Cartoon Network channel only showcases children’s programming during the daytime hours (being taken over by the adult-oriented “Adult Swim” block during the evening and graveyard hours) whereas Boomerang features children’s programming 24/7.
Yeah I remember boomerang when I was in 1st and first half of second grade after that , my parents couldn't afford cable so that were my qubo era began from 2 part of the second grade all the way to the end of 5th grade and then it was back to cable. I mean it still Air some classic it just a shame that most of the time it's looney toons or tom and jerry, I also remember that they aired some shows like megaman and sonic boom or some other cn shows that unfortunately didn't get pick up properly and they were other times that they aired early seasons of their popular modern shows like ttg and gumball.
As a Latin American, i had pretty bad experiences with Boomerang Because in 2006, the channel got Redesigned and they also divided their programming in different blocks The mornings was for Preschool Programs (and some canadian ones like Ruby Gloom) The afternoons are for some live-action shows (i can't remember which ones, but i was looking through their commercials and one of them is Beakman's World) And the nights were for classic boomerang cartoons like the usual Programming in the US But then with the time the channel got worse, the channel in Latin America tried to be more appealing for teenagers and they got rid of ALL THE ANIMATION SHOWS ON IT Anyone even remembers "Pretty Little Liars"? I guess not At least this new redesign revived the channel for a while, until it just became uhhhh... CN Lite And now it rebranded as "Cartoonito" which is... Let's not talk about Cartoonito
I try to watch Boomerang nowadays but it’s just a shell of its former self. I enjoyed it as a kid. All the classic bumpers really gave the channel a nostalgic feel. I heard that after a new exec took over that’s when all these changes came to the network. I also tried the Boomerang app an the only gripe I have against it is there isn’t a Live Tv function like other network apps. The classic shows really made the network an with so much to work with they could easily stretch out airings of the old an the new. Yet they make it all about newer old shows as opposed to shows from the 60s an 70s. I hope they get it right before it’s too late for the network. There is nothing wrong with airing those older cartoons. Cartoon Network is the same. It will show the same cartoons all day when the content is readily available to show different kinds all day.
IDK if its age but im disappointed how most kids show channels i watched as a kid tuned out nick jr: reminds you constantly its meant for a preschool demographic, and no fun characters, noggin did this but it was more subtle they didn't say the benefits of watching there shows, and they had moose and zee pbs kids: i dont like the new mascots they feel souless compared to the 2000s and new styling is to bright boomerag: isnt it obviose Disney jr: i didn't like them when they first came out only bc they discontinued countless shows i liked
I used to love watching Disney junior Uk on tv for me I’ve watched Little Einsteins Special agent Oso Jungle Junction Mickey Mouse clubhouse handy manny imagination movers Henry huggle monster art attack Animal Mechanicals Sofia the first Doc Mcstuffins curious George Jake and neverland pirates The Hive Zou sheriff calli Wild West Cars Toons Miles all from tommorrow land and there more just to long to list
And for Nick junior Uk for me I watched Dora explorer Go deigo Go The Backyardigans blues clues Ni-hão kai-lan max and ruby Little Bill wonder pets Super why Team umizoomi Bubble guppies Olive the ostrich Peppa pig Ben and holly little kingdom Wally Kazan Blaze and monster machines Tickety tic Zack and quack fresh beat band of spies Shimmer and shine and more just to long to list
When I was first born I never got the classic boomerang because I was paying attention to other networks such as Nickelodeon Nick Jr and Disney channel and Disney Junior
This was interesting to watch, however as I watched, I couldn't believe that the US channel was able to keep the retro theme for a large part of it's run. This probably has to do with me mostly knowing the way crazier history of the Latin America version of Boomerang. It originally launched in 2001, keeping the retro branding, and airing Hanna-Barbera cartoons that were no longer aired on CN. Then, in 2006, it was re-launched as a children's network, pushing the retro cartoons to the night and early morning hours. Then, in 2008, it was re-launched AGAIN and became a channel for teens, and all classic programing was put on Tooncast (a premium channel that focuses on retro programming). By 2011, it was the only Boomerang channel that didn't air cartoons. Then the 2014 re-launch happened, and it became a family channel just like all other versions of Boomerang. And finally, in December 2021, after 20 years on the air, it was re-launched for the last time as Cartoonito, having the same programming as the CN USA block. Why it was rebranded so much, i don't know. Apparently the 2014 rebrand caused a large growth in viewership compared to previous versions of the channel. Either way, the channel marked many childhoods in many different ways. Despite the constant changes, the channel will continue to be remembered by many. R.I.P Boomerang LA 2001-2021 Edit: the channel originated as a block in 1992 (1993?) like the other iterations of Boomerang. Also, apparently the 2006 rebrand happened because the channel failed to meet Turner's expectations.
Boomerang originally was to be what Cartoon network started to be, because Cartoon network establish more original and newer programs along with the HB stuff they already had out
i mean like the new boomerang rebrand but nowadays it airs newer shows instead classic cartoons including newer shows that are airing on cartoon network instead the cartoon cartoons

When I was a kid the old boomerang bumpers creeped me out
Why tho? They were so cool!
@@leemorrell when I was like 5 they creeped me out but They prove nostalgic for me now
I just realized that the announcer of the new boomerang was the voice of Lincoln Loud from Season 2 of the Loud House.
Is he?
Yes, siree!
No way THE GRIM ADVENTURE OF BILLY AND MANDY ARE BACK
1:01 That used to be my show, along with Ed Edd n Eddy
ME TOO. That show was awesome.
@@medora2499 - Sometime after you uploaded this video, on September 7, 2020, four of Cartoon Network's retired shows have returned to the Boomerang channel. The shows that have returned are as follows:
1. Dexter's Laboratory
2. The Powerpuff Girls (1998)
3. Ed, Edd n Eddy
4. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
If you didn't know, Boomerang has the tendency to bring back certain shows on the channel after a few years without airing (whether if the shows are retired from Cartoon Network or not). So I guess you could say that Boomerang today has not only become "Cartoon Network Junior", but at the same time, remain as the "old-folks" home for Cartoon Network shows.
@@RiveraMichael4567 Wow, that's good to know!
Ikr I forgot how funny and stupid it is
In my opinion, the Boomerang nowdays isn't that bad!
I been waiting for this!
I could see that.
I watched it in the 2010s when I was at the hospital with my mom and dad and my sister
Bring back the classics
In not too long “qubo hasn’t been here for too long.”
As a Latin American, i had pretty bad experiences with Boomerang
Because in 2006, the channel got Redesigned and they also divided their programming in different blocks
The mornings was for Preschool Programs (and some canadian ones like Ruby Gloom)
The afternoons are for some live-action shows (i can't remember which ones, but i was looking through their commercials and one of them is Beakman's World)
And the nights were for classic boomerang cartoons like the usual Programming in the US
But then with the time the channel got worse, the channel in Latin America tried to be more appealing for teenagers and they got rid of ALL THE ANIMATION SHOWS ON IT
Anyone even remembers "Pretty Little Liars"?
I guess not
At least this new redesign revived the channel for a while, until it just became uhhhh... CN Lite
And now it rebranded as "Cartoonito" which is...
Let's not talk about Cartoonito
TBH. I Know That Well. Retro Does NOT Sell. But My God. They Should've NEVER Rebranded Boomerang.
I fine with the boomerang today.
The new Tom and jerry show is there!
loved boomerang growing up at mamaw and papaws house with the Scobey yogi and top cat and so on best cartoons ever.
I’m pretty sure I caught an episode of the Old Smurfs show on this channel.
Are you making a discord server??
IDK if its age but im disappointed how most kids show channels i watched as a kid tuned out
nick jr: reminds you constantly its meant for a preschool demographic, and no fun characters, noggin did this but it was more subtle they didn't say the benefits of watching there shows, and they had moose and zee
pbs kids: i dont like the new mascots they feel souless compared to the 2000s and new styling is to bright
boomerag: isnt it obviose
Disney jr: i didn't like them when they first came out only bc they discontinued countless shows i liked
The adult swim people had to be in charge when classic boomerang was doing its weird surreal stuff
Can you do the history of YTV, please?
I remember watching some episodes of What's New Scooby Doo? on boomerang, when I was still in kindergarten
I loved those Josie & the pussycats bumpers
I loved boomerang it was my favorite thing to watch in 2010-2015 but I hate the rebrand.
When I was first born I never got the classic boomerang because I was paying attention to other networks such as Nickelodeon Nick Jr and Disney channel and Disney Junior
Those channels where amazing nick junior Disney channel and Disney junior they where really good back in the day can’t lie about that one
I actually liked Disney junior better then Nick junior
R.I.P Boomerang LA
2001-2021
Edit: the channel originated as a block in 1992 (1993?) like the other iterations of Boomerang. Also, apparently the 2006 rebrand happened because the channel failed to meet Turner's expectations.
Can you do a video about toon disney and disney channel
I really really miss cartoon cartoon fridays that was a huge staple as a kid wish they had them backed up and released them
Boomerang did not became Cartoon network Jr
Boomerang is also sometimes called the Cartoon Network graveyard
Boomerang is on the air still
My childhood got ruined because of the rebrand
Why Boomerang?! Why did you do this to me!
Boomerang originally was to be what Cartoon network started to be, because Cartoon network establish more original and newer programs along with the HB stuff they already had out
I hope you do NickMom it probably has interesting history btw I like the new boomerang bumpers
A Late-Night Block, That Aired On Nick Jr. it launched in 2012 of October 1st.
In 2015 The NickMom Block Was Discontinued.
When I went through the eleven pm twelve am and one pm time slots I saw code name kids next door chowder and camp lazo
I like this block but I only watch it at my lake house
Did Boomerang Aired Regular Show
I think the one thing that made boomerang unique for me was that there advertising was old Hanna-Barbera toys moving
Taiwo and I don't remember the Boomerang block on Cartoon Network in the 90s when we were born in 2000.
A Bomberang style Kingdom Heart type of game?
i mean like the new boomerang rebrand but nowadays it airs newer shows instead classic cartoons including newer shows that are airing on cartoon network instead the cartoon cartoons
I remember stayin up till like 1:00 just to watch stuff like fosters home or the grim adventures back in like 2012
@Randomness 86 you take the moon and you take the bun
@@Quorthon. TAKE THE SUN
