Great video. I swapped over to Milwaukee a few months ago but they still don’t have a bloody mower. So I brought a 21” SP ego mower with the 530 blower. The combo came with the 7.5ah battery and it’s a bloody tank! I’ve upgraded to the 580 blower as the 530 had some features I didn’t like. I would definitely love to see more Ego related videos 🤩
I have the snow blower ... it comes and uses 2 - 5.0 batteries.... I love it for the amount of snow in Maryland... while you can get a big massive snow blower at the price... I'm tired of the maintenance on them...
If you read the instructions, they say NOT to plug it into power strips. Plug it only into the actual wall power source. That is all I really learned from reading the manual.
Great Video as always ! I own a String trimmer blower and hedge trimmer ! Ego quality haa suprised me I started out with the trimmer and was impressed so added the blower fall three years ago ! I just bought the hedge trimmer and wow it makes trimming all my bushes a breeze 3 of my neighbors have jumped in the ego line after borrowing my toys ... LMAO .... My next purchase is going to be a snowblower as the reviews are impressive ! I'd love to see your honest opinion of the snowblower ! Wish EGO would send ya one to review !!
Thank you for the demo and show. What is the major difference between 2.5 ah and 5.0 ah? How long will each last on ST1521? For residential lawn care, shall I buy a trimmer with 2.5 ah or 5.0 ah battery with the price difference around $50? Thanks lot!
These batteries last 2-3 years after that they fail and new one is $150 for 2.5A or $350 for 7.5A. Either way these are about $50 less then just buying entire new tool with a battery and charger. EGO is not saving the environment by price gouging their customers on the battery and charger. I have returned my EGO trimmer to home depot and sold my line trimmer went back to gas tools.
I hate my new electric mower. I now have to cut the grass twice a week to try to keep the thatch down. It does not mulch it creates thatch, it leave long blades of grass to turn brown. Keep you gas mower as long as you can you will be much happier.
Depot had the blower/edger combo with a battery for $199. I got another 10% off plus 11% Menards price match for another $20 off. I use the blower to keep my job site clean, especially during framing.
I am probably getting the 56v mower with the 7.0amp/hr battery and also the snowblower later on, was wondering if I should get the snowblower as a "tool only" with no battery & charger and instead invest in this rapid charger. My only thought was would it cause the same battery to deteriorate faster over time? Decisions, decisions...
This guy knows what he's talking about! "280 amp hours of power"! It actually says 5Ah and 280Wh that's Watt hours. Plus if he has "an appointment at 5 o'clock I'm showing up at ten 'o' five". At least it sounds like that.
No, the manuals all say not to do what you are saying. Its dangerous. Do whatever you want to but please don't advise others to do dangerous stuff. Thanks.
Be curious about the fan no more! There are two fans in the charger, One at the bottom, one on the left side. The one on the bottom PULLS air through the battery vents, and exhausts that air out of the back, rather than pushing air into the battery like Makita does. The fan on the left, Just behind the massive green vent on the charger, is responsible for cooling the charger itself.
Just be careful I'm pretty sure I smoked one of my batteries because I used the rapid charger everytime I charged my batteries its better to slow charge them
Hey! I want to see Ego in action! I purchased an Ego chainsaw very recently. I almost prefer this chainsaw to gas powered. ALMOST! Only trouble I encountered is with the bar oiling. It would get so much debris packed in there after only a few minutes. I was spending more time with my saw apart then I was using it. Needless to say I got a different (brand) bar. Problem solved. Final conclusion: I'm convinced. Ego rocks, I'm prepared to invest! I want all of Ego's equipment. 1 of each, please. I am curious if others have had the same issue with Ego's bar. I enjoy your enthusiasm, my friend. Happy New Year!
@@wharrison7131 did the debris affect the performance of your chainsaw? For mine it acted like I needed to take the guides down also the bar would get hot (no oil) and the chain would get increasingly tighter on the bar. But like I said I put a different bar on and haven't had a problem with the chainsaw since.
Very much so. Bar got so tight, hot. After only a short time running it. No where near the life of a battery. Yes, exactly same issue. I ran the 14" bar, I think. Just ended up manually oiling it... Finally it got the hint and started oiling. But not before i warped the original bar.
@@shaneallison7259 14" bar that came with it. Probably played around with a Walmart bar n chain. But i think ultimately it was a Tractor Supply bar that worked best. Don't quote me on that. It was 2 years ago. Ive been working through 15+ saws since.
Does anyone know if it's ok to use the rapid charger with a (1000 Watt Car Power Inverter 12v DC to 110v AC Converter with Dual AC Outlet 2.4A USB, 12 Volt)? Just in case I have to use my small SUV to charge my EGO batteries.
I really appreciate the advice! Do you know anything about the replacement batteries? I've seen some on Amazon for half the price of an original EGO battery.
Hello, in that circuit, there is a component marked as C30 and another marked as Q16, and D22, you can provide me with its values, I have a charger like the one shown in your video, and it is damaged, and those components their values are not visible, since they were destroyed by an overload, you can provide me with that information, Ego PowerPlus/Power+ CH2100 battery charger
Just my opinion but I think people working these batteries to hard I think heat is the enemy I have some ego products trimmer and chainsaw and I never put a battery on charge right after use I let it cool for 30 minutes to an hour and I think these rapid chargers shorten battery life just saying if I got a lot of wood cutting I use my Stihl chainsaw the battery saw is no match under heavy use
Possibly, but there's is a fan that draws air through the battery. There's also research that shows controlled higher temp fast charging is actually better than room temperature, and Tesla for example gets the battery up to above 100F for supercharging and won't hit full output until that's reached.
I had a very good experience at first. Before the batteries failed in less than 3 years. But the warranty replacement batteries lasted less than a year. I had 2 since I purchased 2 tools and the batteries failed at about the same time. One of the replacement batteries lasted less than 8 months, the other lasted about 10 months. Just enough time to get past the warranty period. New batteries are over $150 each. I could buy new tools cheaper. Probably gas tools this time because they are clearly better for the environment since they last longer and don't require toxic Lithium to be mined with fossil fuels and then left in a landfill. It is my opinion that these tools are both a poor choice for performance and longevity but also a poor choice for "going green". I would strongly advice someone to avoid these products.
I bought a few Ego products in the past and I have to say that I've been only someone impressed. Everything is great until the battery dies and Ego refuses to replace them even during the warranty. I do not recommend buying Ego products.
Is it best to completely charge or to charge to 85% capacity. I had been fully charging but ive switched to charging completely then using the 150 watt EGO Escape inverter and an electronic device to reduce the batteries to 85%. They will usually sit on the shelf for a couple days between charges and use. Id love to know whats best
If you're going to be reducing the battery charge to 85%, you may as well just charge to 85% and not put the extra load on the battery to charge and then drain it.
You're just burning away life by discharging the battery to 85%. The battery is well managed on its own, it charges to around 4.1v to 4.15v, as opposed to the actual 100% charge of 4.2v per cell. It's already doing what's needed to preserve the battery lifespan. Not only that, but a resting battery that sits for over a month will discharge to 30% for storage, just make sure you keep your batteries in use if they're not actually going into seasonal storage or you're wasting battery life.
Unless you had a xbox360 that flashed the red ring of death . It was not awesome or fun . It was frustrating that you had to wait for Microsoft to send you a package to pack your malfunctioning xbox360 up and ship to them to fix while waiting in agony for them to ship your xbox360 back to you .lol
