A very enjoyable reaction, as always. Dimash's rendition of Lionel Richie’s "Hello" was a guest performance on "I am a Singer 2018"; he was not competing that year. At the end of the second verse, Dimash sang "I love you" in Mandarin ("Wo ai ni") to the Chinese audience, and again in the third verse, adding "I love you" in Kazakh, before whispering "Thank you" in Mandarin at the end. Dimash beautifully incorporates Middle Eastern (Armenian, Turkish, Arabic, Azerbaijanian, Kazakh) runs in the song. His friend (Erlan Bekchurin) does many of his arrangements and also arranged this performance. This is my favorite rendition of the song; even better than the original in my humble opinion. You would certainly enjoy his vocalise rendition of the song "Know". It is different, but he performs the entire song without lyrics.

Of course, phonetically for Mandarin also includes a number of tonal quavers to get the meanings of the words right - while singing notes! He sang the first verse of Confessa in Mandarin instead of the standard Italian. Coming back for this 2018 non-competition performance, he had learned enough Mandarin to give a proper thank you at the end of this song. And he translated some of the lyrics of this American (Lionel Richie) song to Mandarin so the audience could feel it better. He does not forget a favor.
