Imagine being pulled over and trying to explain that to a South African police officer, Like just imagine he's face. That would be pure gold.
Knowing them they would find a reason to take it away and keep it for themselves...
Lmao the fuck? Get outta here with that racist shit
@@McKennaCochrane uh huh hes racist...you fucking idgit
@@hungryhunter7158 “knowing them they’d try to take it and keep it for themselves” y’a okay, my bad apparently it’s not racist to assume that a South African referred to as *them* in this comment is matched with the assumption that they will take something and keep it for themselves. Maybe I read it wrong, maybe I don’t know what racism is, maybe I’m racist, who the fuck knows at this point lmao
If you guys crashed, and the airbags deployed, you would have gotten a nice HMD (Head Mounted Display)
How does this not have more likes? This is hilarious lol 2:30AM and I almost woke my girlfriend laughing!
Had the inverter been connected straight to the battery and not the in car circuit, you could draw a lot more amps.
LoL, this was epic, could be a good entertainment center for the kids on a long drive, very well done :)
amd has improved SO much😎#teamred
100%
and sucks intel rocks
You're crazy, man! This is awesome!
You're awesome!
NOT AMD CAR
QQ. Rekt.
This is fucking awesome.
Right back at you friend!
Next: A new form factor, car pc case. rofl
Clearly power connection is the only mystery for most of us. I can't believe this wasn't addressed.
Just wondering why not go the extra mile and remove the inverter from the equation. The PSU is for AC, and the computer runs on DC, all you really need is the right headers, and you can simply voltage regulate all the lower voltages from 12v. I'm sure it's more involved than that, but it can't be by much.
Eh, you should do this when go out camping!
Get a doublecab bakkie, install the PC under your back seat. Couple it to any 600 watt modified inverter and the you have PC when go out camping!
A couple of things to note:
1. Don't use mechanical drives, bumpy roads will destroy them. An SSD will work perfectly.
2. Use minimal fans and if using fans, put filters on. There will be a lot of dust.
3. Try getting the slim cases, which an ITX board will fit in.
4. Get a screen which has a separate power supply (new Dell screen have them). Give you a longer cord and make it possible to setup your system outside on a table.
5. Get long cables, you going to need them!
Then happy camping and playing PC, or whatever you do!
wow this is a genius idea for a proof of concept and just a good video idea, good job for stepping out of the box unlike most tech channels
You guys need to get at least a decent 4guage Amp wire kit with included fuse-box straight from the battery to feed that inverter, maybe pop a ups in there too just to make sure everything runs smooth and there's no imminent power dips when starting the car. But yeah, you can get serious current in a car if you do it in a long term sense like laying out cables properly, maybe a bit bigger or secondary battery etc.
+mr. ///THEO\\\ Dedicated wiring is the best idea. Point of the video was a bit more amateur hour though. Thanks for the suggestion.
Yeah it was a kickass idea making that 1400km trip a bit more interesting xD and understand that it was just a test, but you guys sparked ideas in some of these guys watching this vid so it's just a heads up for them folks who wants to game on their way to their destination or in the camping trip lol. But yeah great vid guys, hope you had a gatskop trip. You should of hooked up the sound to the car stereo aux, Byron won't be sleepy after that xD
cool vid, would love to see one using a gaming laptop, could be a fun comparison
What kind of inverter did you use I'm trying to recreate this my self on my trip to Bloemfontein for Cape Town and back XD
I have a r9 390 and a i54460
Now seriously! You should address to West Coast Customs, they can manage that PC in right way.
+dea gt Brilliant idea. I prefer things to be a bit more layman though. I'm a simple man. :D
Man I love your channel💚
Hahahhahaha....can't stop laughing! Can you put it on Space Shuttle?
+dea gt Space Shuttle?
I'ma drop some knowledge rq... You set this up wrong.. I think I'm the only person alive setting it up right, your right on the inverter, but you should of got a 400w capacity... But the real trick is... You take a car stereo amp.... And run your inverter threw the amp.... This will allow you to jack all settings and game on turbo mode with out blowing any fuses or killing your battery.. I do this to call my cars.. it's worked very well Everytime.
Id get like a tv roof mount and mount it to the car so you dont have to sit with the monitor on your lap
I am trying to figure out how he is powering his computer in the car. I have a adapter that plugs into the car and the power to the computer just flickers
damnn this is like the mighty car mods of pc, wish mcm would do a collab with you
U need to use something like a PicoPSU of HDplex which is a DC to DC power supply instead of AC to DC which needs to be inverted.
Will you ever be doing a budget bare bones gaming pc anytime soon using ONLY new parts? Alot of my friends including me are asking whats the best budget combo. Thx dude
+Kryptk_ ZA I'll look into it!
Suggestion for v2: a small capacity UPS.
+Ujiltrom M Thanks for the suggestion, but a UPS would have violated the spirit of the project IMO. I had a UPS, but chose not to use it. Would make it easier to play when stopping for gas though.
That's fair.
Also now I wonder: won't a UPS recharging after a cut-off draw more power and blow the fuse?
I use an air compressor and inverter in my car and one day i found out the wiring is only 16-18 gauge yet has a 20 amp fuse on that circuit so be weary of that
if you used like a 1080ti and a i5/i7 you could have probably not have had to change any fuses but i know that you was trying to run as much as you can
hmmm, taking DC 12v inverting it to 220v AC, just to have it rectified back to 12V DC..... super efficient setup brah
Awesome video. Glad it worked out.
Did they say the size of the DC inverter? I need to build a behind-dash PC chassis and do a tesla
Yo, cool video! This reminds me of when I was younger and first started driving, I got this 7-inch 480p cheap screen and plugged my N64 into it with a power converter plugged into the Cigarette adapter and was having friends in the car play that, or I'd let them drive & I'd get to play it, it was sweet, but your set-up is wayyy better! #pcmasterrace lol
dayum thats kickass
60fps on the load screen... Truly remarkable.
the new middle earth game haha :D. although i probably chose that not because it's in a car but because it looks sick as :D
car pcs have been around for a very long time
8 core 16 thread car PC's though?
UFDisciple negative, but I ran a media PC using a cyrix CPU in a Ford Ranger. I'm thinking it was around 1999-2003.
U should try Pico PSU or HDPLEX. It requires 12V DC input, so it will be way more power efficient than inverter + ATX PSU. I am running i3 4330 + GTX 660 + two 3,5" HDDs on a fake Pico PSU (from Aliexpress) and it works just fine.
+7martinsk7 _ Thanks for the suggestion.
Didn't MSI have any laptops to sponsor
I would of did it differently a computer uses 12v 5v and 3.3v I would use voltage regulators for all 3 voltages instead of a power supply I would hardwire it to the car. 12v is Yellow, -12v is blue Red is 5 volt white is -5V, Orange is 3.3v Black is ground for all the power It would be simple to hardwire a PC to a car.
Why use a power inverter?? Use a dc to dc atx converter you can get 400w one for 90$ use a 20$ boost converter and set the voltage to 19v and it will have no problems running it is very efficient 96% at best!! You can game and do anything!! you can even run a 19v monitor!!
why didnt you get rid of power supply and run direct 12v ?
A laptop would be easyer
Hey how to make good sound with no noise from pc to car audio? Normally not with bluetooth😊
take that CONSOE PLAYERS!!!! I LOVE U MAN
LOVE IT!!!!
love the vids from our local bra
Awesome video guys!
@UFDisciple Glad to see I'm not the only one to power my pc with a screwdriver xD #JustSouthAfricanThings
#testbenchlife
Wondering why so many of your sponsors are from SA? You don't have the accent for it
is that a figo ?
open aftereffect if u dear xD jk its realy cool mate
Hey man I love your content. Fellow South African here. I just wanted to ask your opinion on what would be a good value for money build here in South Africa. My budget is between R10k-R15k. Hope you keep up the great work and get a chance to reply to this :)
I guess this is the situation where a 3k usd gaming laptop is a better idea than a desktop
+Владимир Харченко What gaming laptop has 8 cores though? This isn't just a gaming PC, but a full production workhorse too.
you look angry and I like it
Locally stream the entire game the entire time? With what data O.O?
I know it. I just didn't answer it.
3 years and your uuuuh 2nd here.

Pcar Master Race
are you going to start to push daily vids?......it'll be AWESOME
How are you powering the inverter? I hope to dear God you're not powering it from the cigarette lighter slot. If you are run it directly from the battery
Directly from the 12V slot, not from the battery.
You wouldn't have any fuse problems running it from the battery, also you'd be able to run a higher wattage inverter that way. Your 300w inverter can pull up to 25 amps and more, while your 12v slot can only supply 20 fused, maxing at only 240w. Running straight from the battery you can easily pull 600w and more allowing for higher specs on your pc. I suggest at minimal you just run the inverter straight from the battery to prevent blowing fuses and to increase the stability of the PC
To add on, running your games in desktop mode can reduce performance as well, so it's not the number one option
Thanks for the input, but the point of the video was to run it from the 12v plug. A completely intentional move to see how stable and usable it would be. Obviously having a dedicated battery is the most useful, but we went the route of least resistance.
Are you the kid who was left "HOME ALONE"?
That was going to be my plan, once I got an ITX motherboard, how dare you steal it....
Though, my version requires a 120 watt limit.
Screw it, gonna do it anyway.
Bruh imagine just building this into your car permanently (or buying a Tesla xD)
So 450W is the maximum?
im going to be testing an r5 2600 and rtx 2080 super using a car in a few days ahahahah
How did it go?
@@jakeflorian3334 you need a really good inverter i fried a lower end pc trying it because of power surging
Cool video
Ok so a 400w psu should do just fine for RX 480 and RX 470
Parsa Strife you should get at least 500w if you want to OC
That's all well and good... but will it play CRYSIS?!!!!!!????!!!!
How does he have internet?
+Florian Kloek wut?
hmm maybe a ups would help out with the issues you where having
+Simonarne Myklebust Yeah, but also would have hurt the experience IMO. Wanted to run it completely off the car without an intermediary.
sure. whoever makes a car gaming setup that they use more than once should think about it tough
+Simonarne Myklebust 100%
Add a PSU for the rev 2.0
no motion sickness ???
+TheBututGamerZ None. Doesn't really ever happen to me.
How good is a B350, is it comparable to an X370 in terms of overclocking and what kind of ram speeds is it capable of.
+Donovan O'Leary B350 is good enough for many users. Not directly the same, but sufficient. Memory speeds are touchy depending on what board, BIOS, and type of memory you're using.
i love the idea Good Jop
AUX the sound to car stereo and if u had subs would be mean!!
PCMR 4 LIFE
Really admire to your enthusiasm, honestly, you are genius with big G but this is so stupid! ;-))
+dea gt Bruh, it ain't stupid if it works. :P. I'd rather do a stupid project like this than just stare at the Karoo when driving to Cape Town, that's Byron's job.
OK, great idea but lack of realization.Anyway you are making history in some way and we are witnessing that!Good job, like your videos.Maybe you should patented your invention at Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse? ;-)) Post Scriptum Couldn't resist, sorry man, no hard feelings...
I mean using your computer in the car
I bet that can't beat my Nokia 3310 #Nokiamasterrace
this is dumb "hmm, how can i convert direct current to alternating current to power an ac power supply that supplys dc current to the components inside." u guys are a whole different kinda smart. great idea. terrible execution.
did you turn on amd chill?
+Simonarne Myklebust Nope.
well that would throttle the power of the gpu to where it uses only whats needed to run the game above thescreens refresh rate and doesnt go to like 500 in the menus and stuff
really nice video..awesome ...
Thank you!
Hmm, it would be interesting to power the computer directly with DC power coming from the car. Not sure how much power you could pull through but eh, it's not impossible.
It's a pretty nice idea but it looks very uncomfortable :D
+SeRIaL_GhosT It actually wasn't. Definitely impractical. The long car ride was the most uncomfortable part.
6:34 6000fps
lol awesome video loved it )
But my switch is cheaper
hahaha calling out the Switch
fuck the switch

oh my fucking god what am I doing here?! I cant understand anything he said. lol XD
in-car amd pc --> car on fire
It can play Netflix... right? XD
If I had interwebs, yep.
Uhm?? Gaming Laptop??? But cool project!
+Grant Hampson Ain't no 8 core 16 thread gaming laptops on the market my friend.
Oh yes, for streaming and gaming... Definite cool project :-)
I'd play Starcraft 2 just because it's the best game :)
#fucktheswitch
+LuGGaZ ™ Woah nelly.
GTAV!
report drunk drivers
Just buy a laptop and mount it end of the story........
nice idea , a car pc . if you want to be safe when it comes to power. make sure you have a 2nd alternator ! if the battery dies , the car stops :D
jerome vet second alternator?... What..
A gaming console that doesn't play Netflix? WTF Switch is that trash tier? lol. Xbox 360 slim had Netflix and that was 2010 release... but Switch much more powerful and WAY more sales and no Netflix? (Keep in mind I'm going on what the guy in the video said maybe it does but he said it doesn't) lol no Netflix!
