I'll be damned if this doesn't taste legitimately like a liquid brownie. 10/10.

Just tried this and if you have a smaller blender like me (600ml capacity) you should half the ingredients listed it will still taste amazing and is still a good source of protein 👌🏽 I rarely try stuff like this but this one is certainly a game changer

@@epicmintleaves I made the chicken pea one today. Really smooth. I’m training hard & hope this will be adequate as I’m not using animal protein. Awesome channel. You have a friend in the island 🏝️
Blessings
I don't know why it's never occurred to me to make bean shakes, until just now. You just opened pandoras box, black beans, chickpeas, pinto beans, butter beans, everything is about to be turned into a protein shake.
Awesome! Enjoy the bean smoothies!
Fantastic recipe, greetings from the Netherlands❤❤❤❤
I'm so glad you like the recipe, Ibtissem! Thank you! Greetings to the beautiful Netherlands!
This is absolutely delicious. It truly tastes like a peanut butter brownie.
😊 Thank you sooo much for your feedback! Enjoy the smoothie! 💪
Thank you so much for this recipe. I’m starting my workout journey and my stomach just doesn’t agree with powder protein shakes. This is so delicious!❤ that’s coming from a picky picky eater
😊 You're SOOO welcome! Thank YOU so much for your great feedback! Wishing you all the best on your workout journey-stay strong and enjoy the process! You've got this! 💪
I just want to say, this taste unbelievable. Im one of those people that are skeptical with vegan recipes that are supposed to taste like something or replace something, but I would not believe it if someone told me there are black beans in here. I took the bananas out the recipe and it taste literally like a liquid brownie.
I know people in the comments exaggerate all the time about how good a recipe is, but I’m serious this is almost too good to be true.
That's fantastic to hear! Thank you so much for sharing your experience!! Happy cooking!
Really good! I skipped the peanut butter, still tasted great
Awesome! Thank you so much for your feedback, Lianna!
very tasty but what is the CARB content please
This is so rich! I can‘t believe you used black beans. I love the high protein content!
It is! Thank you, Jane! Enjoy!
This looks amazing. But Im wondering if you used regular peanut butter like Skippy or was it raw peanut butter? Thanks!
Thank you! I always use whole foods. It's made with 100% peanuts (no added sugars, no added oils,...). Enjoy!
Love this
Can you use another bean ? Like kidney, chickpea or white bean?
Thank you, Tania! Black beans help to create a brownie-like taste, but chickpeas or white beans should work too. Enjoy!
Great shake
Thanks! Enjoy!
Create more of these please !!
Sure, stay tuned for more!
tried this, it was very good! sadly my old blender isnt very powerful so still had to chew through some bean skins lol
Try processing just a part at a time, like one third or one fourth.
I froze the beans and bananas made in blender then froze in the freezer made black bean nice cream! Tasty after I microwave it for 30 seconds!
Awesome! Sounds delicious!
Thanks for the content. Wondering how many servings this is as well as how many calories.
Thanks for your comment! It's about 2 servings. All ingredients are in the description. Enjoy!
Yummmmm
Thanks!! Enjoy!
My brother, could I use soy or some other chickpea or something to this shake? Also thank you
God bless you
Thank you, you too!
You sounds trustful with your german accent. I will try the shake
Thanks for the video. The bananas should be frozen or normal room temperature?
You're welcome! It works both ways. Enjoy!
Can I make this without the peanut butter? If yes, how would it affect the protein content?
I used cashew butter instead it still taste good and still healthy
is this for one person?
How about cooking the beans in bulk and refrigerate them for a week worth of smoothie ? I'm also concerned about consuming those regularly because of the high lectins they contains
lectins are eliminated in the cooking process. As long as you don't eat raw or undercooked beans you are fine
Will u taste the beans?
Just made this with (accidently) black lentils instead of beans, but it was great nevertheless!
Oh cool, that's interesting! Thank you so much for your feedback!!
Wonder how this would taste if I run it through my Ninja Creami?
i’m not sure whether to do this or not?
that's impressive.
Thank you! Enjoy the protein smoothie!
Would this work with Kidney Beans? Or are they too different?
This works best with black beans, but you can try. Enjoy!
you eat a whole can of black beans in the morning?
Nice ... *but how much protein do you get?*
Yum. Im going to try this but with PB2 fit for the nut butter as it's a quarter of the calories
Thanks, Coco! That sounds good, enjoy!
did u try it?
@@Lauren-vd4qe yes I did & it was delish
@@cocoscott1898Yay!! Im going to try it that way as well since I’m on a shred phase at the moment 🙌🏼
Will make it, I need an alternative to protein powder
That's fantastic! Enjoy the protein smoothie! 💪
Can i use rolled oats for subtitute and i remove dates?
You can replace the dates with your preferred kind of sweetener. Enjoy!
OK, since I'm now addicted to this smoothie and throwing back at least two a week, with rotating fruits like black cherries, black berries, etc., dare I ask the calorie content? I know PBWH vegans aren't supposed to worry about that, but hold habits die hard. Any ideas since all the other ingredients are defined so wonderfully? ? ?
It's great to hear that you like this smoothie!
Like you said: On a whole-food plant-based diet, our body knows what it needs.
210 (cooked black beans) + 425 (peanut butter) + 180 (Medjool dates) + 210 (bananas) + 60 (cocoa powder) + 240 (soy milk) = 1,325 calories
Having this instead of protein shake now!
Awesome!! Enjoy! 💪
Is this one serving?
what can i use instead of peanut butter if i dont have any?
Just use any other nut or seed butter you like. Enjoy!
Could you freeze as Popsicle?
I haven't tried to freeze it yet, but it could work. Enjoy!
do i take it after the workout or before?
After
Very nice, full marks for taste 🤤 but just wondering if this really 80gm of protein 🙂
Thanks! It's 62.33 g of protein. All based on official USDA data (details in the description). Enjoy!
I have been greatly benefited by this recipe, but in order to replace protein powder I need more protein. Please tell me which item to increase if I want this shake to have more protein 🙏🏼
Can we add normal milk ? Because soy milk is hard to find and not available here
yes
May i use lentil or chickpeas instead of black beans?
This smoothie tastes best with black beans. You can find other smoothies with chickpeas on my channel. Enjoy!
Will it still taste good without the cocoa powder?
You could try, but this tastes best with cocoa powder. You can find other plant-based high protein smoothies without cocoa powder on my channel. Enjoy!
No bananas in the house. Any ideas?
Does the canned beans come pre-cooked?
yes, enjoy!
hi, i just wanted to know how many calories this has?
I searched for all the ingredients in their respective quantities, apparently there are 1506 calories in the whole smoothie.
is there any substitute for black beans?
This recipe works best with black beans. Check out my other protein smoothies for other kind of beans. Enjoy!
The beans alone get you a thumbs up
Thanks! Enjoy the smoothie!
Can I skip the dates if I dont have any?
sure, just replace them with the sweetener of your choice. Enjoy!
How did you calculate 60grams of protein with this? Im only counting 30
even 62.33 g! Check the details in the description of the video (I just put it on there). All based on official USDA data. Make sure to enter drained chickpeas. Enjoy!
Ahh. I was using almond milk instead of soy. And must have undercounted somewhere as well. Thanks
Hi there, can't seem to find these black beans where 240g equals 21g protein. The closest I found was Organic Black Beans canned where 240g equals to 18.96g protein. I did find black turtle beans with a higher protein count, are they same thing?
There're quite a few black bean cans with even higher protein values than I calculated. I just used the official USDA values ("Beans, black, mature seeds, cooked, boiled, without salt"). We wanna work with the drained values, too. On many cans you find the nutrition facts for the whole thing including the liquid. Remove that water and you end up with higher protein values. Enjoy!
@epicmintleaves Thanks a ton, love the content! Going to give this a try this weekend 👌👌
how many calories is it?
I searched for all the ingredients in their respective quantities, apparently there are 1506 calories in the whole smoothie.
Macros please??
Are these all the steps? Or am I dumb and black beans need to be boiled or smth I don’t know shit about cooking I’m sorry and I would love to follow this recipe I just subscribed to the cannel
Canned beans are already cooked, ready to eat. Enjoy!
Your "I don't know shit about cooking" made me laugh: so huge thank you for cheering me up! So refreshing and honest. You sound like a great person.
How much gram is a 1/4 cup❤
Here 1/4 cup of peanut butter is about 75 grams. You can find all ingredients in the description of the video. Enjoy!

You can eat beans raw?
Canned beans are always pre-cooked and ready to enjoy!
How much gram of black beans you use in this video please tell !!!!!!
240 g! Check the description under the video and you can find all ingredients (also in g). Enjoy!
@@epicmintleaves thanksssss
Thank you so much! If the flavor of the beans is perceived or not doesn't matter to me: I'm Mexican
You're so welcome! Great! Enjoy the recipe!
Can u taste these beans? I can’t have beans due to GERD makes me vomit
You taste a delicious and rich chocolate smoothie. Enjoy!
If you have GERD, it's not the flavor of the beans that can make you nauseous, it's the beans themselves (most beans anyway.) I have to take digestive enzymes beforehand, any time I eat beans. If you have IBS, beans are a terrible idea in general. I'm going to try this and only drink part of it at a time.
Bro i though that was chocolate at first
but why the beans?
Healthy protein source
Can someone teach me the maths on how he got 60 grams of protein
Check the description of the reel. All values are based on the official USDA food database. Enjoy!
that intro hurt my brain.
Your voice makes me feel like I’m watching propaganda. And guess what? It worked! Just made it, and damn it tastes good.
