I love the little details, like how it not completely like real life plan fighting since its in space, and how when the plane was rolling instead of achieving this using flaps you went down the realistic route and added little thrusters to the bottom and top ends of the wings. These little details go a long way in making this seem like it would be a part of the game if the devs wanted it.
Hold on now.... Not all of his ideas are amazing . I do NOT want to try a mission with the 'contested orbital' debuff he showed off. And of all of them, arrowhead would probably grab that one first
@@kuhljager2429 See I want it cuz one it looks cool, but also you can have have it play into objectives. This is fantastic, really liking your designs and the UI design is top notch, really feels like the actual game UI! Now if only we got a space fighter game like this *especially* if there was some form of crossplay where you can drop in on the missions of other people to dispense some managed democracy
Nevermind the fantastic work on the Eagle, look at that UI! I love how it functions as an aim reticle in addition to showing the orientation of the fighters wings.
For a second I thought someone actually created a space combat game that understood the concept of frame-of-reference :) Absolutely friggin amazing work!
If i'm seeing it correctly I love how you incorporated some of the physics at play in space for this scene. It's cool to see space fighters not just moving around like atmospheric crafts would (star wars style) and instead taking advantage of the fact they can just rotate 180 degrees while flying at insanse speeds to unload freedom and democracy onto pursuing fighters. Also love how the fighter 'drifts' when turning as the smaller thrusters try to re-orientate it. Be interesting to see how much of this could actually be utilised in an accesible way in a space combat game (or if it would just make the player vomit lol). Hopefully this is all what you intended and i'm not just seeing things lol
All as intended, more or less! I was mainly trying to imitate the way 2000s Battlestar Galactica portrays the vipers. Still planes in space, but with some fancy physics maneuvering in there.
When I created my missile cutter fan design, I added big soviet-style AShM tubes on the deck. So when it comes to the carrier, it only made sense to incorporate some distinctly soviet elements like the ramps as well. As for an in-universe reason, any sort of technical peculiarity might do. Something like "those ramps contain the intertia reversal coils necessary to safely transition the starfighter from the ship's artificial-gravity field to zero G. Without them, the electromagnetic catapult would collapse the field and cause intense structural damage". There ya go.
The game have the clear potential to become ALSO a ship battle type of game... both on land and in the air with the stratagems being tied to your ship assisting you... that would be orgasmic to have! Please, i hope that the game will go in that direction!
*[EAGLE 1 IS IN TROUBLE!]* Eagle 1: hey helldiver! Im gonna need you to help me here! I need you to pilot the Kestral Its a fighter So its gonna be tricky to fly
@@martechi4236 Way to do your part as a member of Super Earth! Keep that morale high, and stay the course in encouraging the youth of today in following the path of Managed Democracy!
i can see something like this coming to the game in a not so close future, generally different types of missions with specialized gameplay, like imagine missions that have sort of a vehicle based gameplay, like longer maps where you need to escort cargo transports and you do so with apc s or tanks, or even large vehicle centered battles against the automatons, maybe stealth missions inside large automaton bases with special systems to ease stealth and feeling kinda like in star wars 4 while guerrilla fighting and sneaking in the death star
I keep saying this should be the next step (after ground vehicles) for Helldivers 2, Bomber/Flight/ex-fil piloting would make this sooooo much more awesome!
Imagine we have space combat as an event mission to defend the airspace and intercept mission to interrupt the enemy that coming to a planet. Arrowhead should start to recruit some fans
Wings are great for making the craft capable of operating in atmospheres, radiating excess heat, and mounting additional armament and equipment. They also create more leverage for the RCS thrusters necessary to maneuver in space. Making the wings articulated allows those thrusters additional flexibility and allows the craft to fold up neatly to save space (the Eagle in-game has the same wing articulation for that reason). A big flat-top deck allows a few dozen fighters to take-off at the same time if they're using Zero G to their advantage - far more efficient than funneling them through the bottle-neck of a hangar bay. If you#re just launching a few fighters at the time, electromagnetic catapults running the length of the runway can give fighters a massive head-start for extra speed and preserving fuel. And, if it comes to the worst, having a big open flight deck allows emergency landings far more safely and securely than a much shorter deck or open bay. How about that?
I'm glad! I tried going for something akin to the reimagined battlestar galactica: It's still planes in space, but with some fancy zero G maneuvers to spice things up.
@@martechi4236 BSG reboot ruined me for in space combat because it's just so GOOD. I'm happy that you used that for inspiration. I'm also a huge fan of how the Expanse handles ship to ship combat.
make it so control over the skies is control over the battlefield and could have effects like if we don't control the sky then we get less stratagems and there a ton more enemies since we have less control over the planet. and other debuff's on the ground until the skies get more under super earth control.
It would be cool if you could play bombing missions, like you had to fulfill different payload drops while in low orbit, and have to accompany eagle 1 on its way to reload and re enter the battlefield

Sweet looks like a Viper and a F-302 had a Super Baby. Just so much to love.
Those two were always meant for each other!
Inertial maneuvering, fuck yeah!
I like how it maneuvers by shifting its center of mass via wings movement
your videos are becoming better and better everytime :D The things I didn't yet know I needed :D
Always trying to add something new!
Nevermind the fantastic work on the Eagle, look at that UI!
I love how it functions as an aim reticle in addition to showing the orientation of the fighters wings.
It's my first time really fiddling with UI in blender, so I'm extra glad it came out alright!
Palaven? Well it seems like the war has now reached the Mass Effect universe! :D
I'm shocked at the Mass Effect reference 😂😂
I never find the time to replay the games, so I do easter-eggs instead!
I really do like how the physics are not like atmospheric flying, you can see on the edges of the wings additional thruster to actually maneuver.
I'm glad they're being noticed!
This was really impressive!
I love how the flight characteristics don't have air resistance, you can just turn around and shoot behind yourself!
No air resistance in a vacuum bro
@Kill6ixBillionDemons yep! It's nice to see an animation be accurate in this way!
This should be how we defend a planet before ground invasion happens
you made me want Arrowhead to "DLC Ace Combat Eagle-1"
Really driving home the desire for a Helldivers spin off game where you play as the naval component of SEAF
Oh how much I wish that'd be true!
For a second I thought someone actually created a space combat game that understood the concept of frame-of-reference :) Absolutely friggin amazing work!
I love the little details on the wings with the little thrusters to stabilize it.
I thought eagle-1 as an atmospheric only fighter/bomber, hence going offline when the destroyer leaves LEO
Absolutely, that's why there's no Eagle in this one!
While very cool, there is something my brain refuses to let go of... Why does a space carrier have a ski-jump?
When I created my missile cutter fan design, I added big soviet-style AShM tubes on the deck. So when it comes to the carrier, it only made sense to incorporate some distinctly soviet elements like the ramps as well.
As for an in-universe reason, any sort of technical peculiarity might do. Something like "those ramps contain the intertia reversal coils necessary to safely transition the starfighter from the ship's artificial-gravity field to zero G. Without them, the electromagnetic catapult would collapse the field and cause intense structural damage". There ya go.
Oh my GAAHH, I love this. Bro is making the concepts of our DREAMS. May you flourish as a 3D artist, for Super Earth
Spacebourne 2, Space Engeneers, Star Citizen... all this games have exactly this, buddy... if this is what you are looking for...
The game have the clear potential to become ALSO a ship battle type of game... both on land and in the air with the stratagems being tied to your ship assisting you... that would be orgasmic to have! Please, i hope that the game will go in that direction!
Holy fuck could you imagine doing missions like this??? Oooo thatd be AWESOME
Some Warframe style missions right there!
Oh god, this just makes me want a space segment. Imagine instead of 4 player squad, you've got a fifth player in the eagle helping out
*[EAGLE 1 IS IN TROUBLE!]*
Eagle 1: hey helldiver! Im gonna need you to help me here! I need you to pilot the Kestral
Its a fighter So its gonna be tricky to fly
Was 100% expecting the ending shot to have the fighter hitting a Super Destroyer at Mach Jesus.
That portion of the video has been dutifully removed by the Ministry of Truth!
@@martechi4236 Way to do your part as a member of Super Earth! Keep that morale high, and stay the course in encouraging the youth of today in following the path of Managed Democracy!
We need to be able to board asteroids filled with Terminid nests, and huge blocks of automaton ships to wreck them
That's the dream!
Palaven... Hail to Turian Hierarchy!
Took me a concerning amount of time to find the first Mass Effect comment.
I'm glad someone else caught on. Not many people has played ME anymore!
Remember Shanxi! For Super Earth, turn Palaven to glass!
@@John-qv5ux Were it so easy ?
@@Mr.Massenko turians: wait? I thought we are friends now? You sobs!
hold on wait, this is such a good idea, i want a space combat mode of the game immediately.
When I first watched your videos, I thought it was in the game!
i fucking died, battle for palaven in HD2. This will be one if super earth were in Mass Effect and thry fightin the reapers lol
I would pay so much money for helldivers air combat
palaven's moon must be protected, bring the krogans!
Krogans would be a good way of dealing with those pesky Automaton Hulks!
I see rouge squadron vibe in this one. Love the video, hope to see more soon
SES Harbinger of Destruction here. God dammit Eagle one, you stole my destroyer kill. Good missile though, eagle-1 really never miss huh
Lol you named yours the Harbinger of Destruction too huh? Thought I was the only 1
It's actually maneuvering like it's in space. Very nice touch.
Eagle! Bring the 500k.g bomb now! The big fat hulk is on me!
Launch scene had serious “Gundam: 0083” vibes. God this would be a cool mode
I knew I should've paid more attention to spaceships from gundam!
@@martechi4236 Excellent vids, man. Really adds color to the HD universe. Feels like they’re actually game scenes. Keep up the good work!
I would love to see Arrowhead make a space sim set in the helldivers universe that would share the same galactic conquest map as the main game
new Helldivers 2 DLC looks insane amazing!
Next up: submarine warfare against the bug menace!
Honestly though, space combat like this in helldivers would be sick
It would be cool if they add such game mechanics like war in space.
i can see something like this coming to the game in a not so close future, generally different types of missions with specialized gameplay, like imagine missions that have sort of a vehicle based gameplay, like longer maps where you need to escort cargo transports and you do so with apc s or tanks, or even large vehicle centered battles against the automatons, maybe stealth missions inside large automaton bases with special systems to ease stealth and feeling kinda like in star wars 4 while guerrilla fighting and sneaking in the death star
I would pay good money for what would essentially be Ace Combat in either Helldivers 2, or just the Helldivers universe
We don't get enough battle-focused space sims out there. It'd be so great to see!
PALAVEN
YOU CALLED IT PALAVEN
let's go extract the Primarch
I hear there's some intense fighting on some of those moons!
i would pay to be able to play the game like this
sweet liberty this was beyond amazing. if i was an Arrowhead exect I'd throw so much money at you to make this real.
Palaven? I didn't know we would be fighting alongside the Turians again.
Makes me miss playing Mass Effect
I will be so happy if they add something like this
Seems like the Turians need out help xD
Don't worry about those dang Xenos and get to killing some clankers!
I love these fanmade space ship scenes and segments!
Looks amazing and incredible as always!
I imagine they've got their hands plenty full with trying to keep the game running as is. But we can dream!
@@martechi4236 so that’s why the devs should have their reinforcements as well. More manpower to increase more managed democracy.
Imagine riding this ship in the home world only to get attacked by giant worms on floating rocks and flying bugs in space 😂
One day, I#ll get to a proper bioship!
Realtalk u got quiet some real nice ideas i hope Arrowhead studios sees ur videos and taking some(many) notes
Man, i would pay an extra 40 euro to have a helldivers space war module :p
For a fan animation this captures the actual game's aesthetic just right, mind blown.
Let's hope the game's engine can withstand this lol
Game's engine: *tortured screaming*
Why would you need articulated wings and a runway in space?
I loved the relatavistic physics.
I'm also a huge fan of how the Expanse handles ship to ship combat.
this is exactly what i was pitching to my friends earlier, it would add such a deep layer to the war.
make it so control over the skies is control over the battlefield and could have effects like if we don't control the sky then we get less stratagems and there a ton more enemies since we have less control over the planet. and other debuff's on the ground until the skies get more under super earth control.
Great, now I want this in the game, but I know the devs will never give it to us.
The best way to ruin your day!
I wish we could play as eagle, or the tactician officer inside the ship for a true combined arms experience
THIS!!!! I WANT THIS!!!! i been talking with my helldiver mates for a while already about how awesome space battles could be!!!
Ace combat style gameplay with strategems mechanic?
me:(insert helldiver slamming super credit)
It's gonna add some challenge to the flying!
We must not forget the heroism of the fleet!!
They flatten a lot of ground for the Helldivers to conquer!
This video was so good I legitimately thought this was real
It would be cool if you could play bombing missions, like you had to fulfill different payload drops while in low orbit, and have to accompany eagle 1 on its way to reload and re enter the battlefield
