    Finally someone who knows what they are talking about (I'm not referring to Original Dobo). Thanks for your vids! If you could do a post flight full workflow video that would be incredible. When just starting out shooting and uploading to RUclips, preparing versions for clients, etc there are so many choices one has to make. How many hours does it take for your longer 4k vids to upload to RUclips? Thanks so much.

    • @CaliforniaPhantom
      @CaliforniaPhantom  2 года назад +1

      I appreciate you man. It takes about 40 Min for a 10-12min RUclips video to upload. I do have Xfinity gigabit speed, so I'm sure that helps. For 4K 30fps I set the Average bitrate when rendering to 105000kbps. RUclips loves 95000, so I bump it above that slightly to a sweet spot between the drones original bitrate and my Canon R5 bitrate which is higher.

    Yes, exactly this is the meaning: put your drone in refrigerator if outside you have over 7 Celsius degrees :)
    1. Compass does not matter, will be made at the end, as is made OUTSIDE
    2. Drone needs to be cold....really cold, as IMU sensor needs to be cold.
    3. You need to put your drone on table, but put the table close to a wall and use the drone foot against wall to be sure is 100% properly adjusted.
    Cheers.

    Learning to calibrate your quadcopter is a huge deal.
    With as many wireless devices I have I would need to do this outdoors for sure!
    How often should you do your IMU calibration?
    How do you like the Autel Lite +?

    • @CaliforniaPhantom
      @CaliforniaPhantom  2 года назад +2

      Great questions. You don’t need to really do IMU unless system tells you, you take it a great distance OR if your seeing instability in flight. Because it could help with horizon line, it’s not a bad idea if you got horizon line issues to do this as well. I haven’t seen anyone mention the improvement of a cold IMU versus a room temp or warmer IMU, so that was my motivation to make this video. I’m loving the Lite+; it’s a perfect companion/trip drone. It’s also great for a RUclipsr or someone who makes content for small format for social media. More than capable for those things.

      @@CaliforniaPhantom I figured it would work for relator and even some inspection work as well.
      Sigh I guess I am going to have to really buckle down and save to get myself one. It seems to be the winner out of the gate for Autel. The Nano seems to have some issues that need to be corrected, and some design changes I hope to see in a new version.
      Being in the central valley, by the wind mills, I am not temped to get a nano because of the known high winds. A bigger airframe would suit me well.

    In your opinion, is the Mavic 3 worth the $1200ish premium over the Evo Lite +?? (With the assumptions that DJI will improve the satellite issue, and Autel adds active track soon, 2 current issues with each drone).

    • @CaliforniaPhantom
      @CaliforniaPhantom  2 года назад +3

      Honestly, that’s a difficult question to answer. It depends what the intended purpose is for. Lite+ is a lot of drone for the money, but if money is no object; I see the Mavic 3 as being the better of the 2 platforms in the future after the firmware(s) dust has settled. Is geofencing a big issue for you? All factors in the decision making. I see the Mavic 3 as more of a workhorse. I see the Lite+ as more of a perfect travel drone. A perfect social media content creation drone. That’s probably the best way to describe the differences between the two. Hope this answers your question well enough.

    I'm definitely considering this as a second drone and your videos are helping me with that decision. Could you recommend a Micro SD card for this? Hey Phantom- how relevant is the Autel Evo 2 6k, 8k for real estate work in 2022?

    • @CaliforniaPhantom
      @CaliforniaPhantom  2 года назад +1

      Excellent question and honestly still an absolute beast. Lite+ strictly for real estate is a contender too if you consider the Evo 2 Pro because cameras are nearly identical, with the Lite+ you got better low light video with the on board denoising night modes baked in. But then again Lite+ = no 360 obstacle avoidance if that’s important to you.

    Wouldn't condensation come in to play from the outside cold to a warm inside environment? I have always waited until all my electronics have reached room temp before turning on. Or vice-versa when outdoors. Just basic electronic knowledge unless this issue has been rectified?

    • @CaliforniaPhantom
      @CaliforniaPhantom  2 года назад

      100% don’t go from a really warm to a really cold because condensation can build on that camera and internals. I took my already cold drone and took it in my garage which was in the low 30’s and left it there for a couple hours before doing that IMU calibration. If you saw the sample footage from the same video even with a sliver of horizon line; the line remains really strait and the drone rock solid. So moral of the story is get your drone as physically cold as you can (within reason) before the IMU calibration for the most accurate calibration possible.

    • @CaliforniaPhantom
      @CaliforniaPhantom  2 года назад

      Well said. I felt compelled to mention this based on the number of people having issues on the Autel forum with this drone. Some people have forgotten the basics to this drones, and thought it was a good video to produce. I didn't want to over emphasis on placing the drone in an actual refrigerator because I didn't want anyone to damage their camera leaving it in the refrigerator too long. Thankfully I live in cold enough environment where I can get away with leaving it in the garage for a while early in the morning. Definitely can put it in the refrigerator itself if you don't have access to cold enough temps for at least 10-15 minutes without damaging anything. I'm sure you know this, but I want to leave this here for anyone wondering the comment section.

      I use to think the same way. The whole it looks like a lifeguard buoy thing. The Lite has a ton of work needed as it’s missing some key things, but it’s brand new. Evo 2 is tunable; could tune it to my exact liking and really is an exceptional drone. Especially for the value. Then there’s the enterprise which is an even better savings. Autel has grown on me and using it for commercial - I almost exclusively use Autel now for commercial work.
