While latency is important, my biggest issue with digital on whoops (particularly WS) is that the kit is all super fragile. I've gone thru so many VTX Lite boards and MIP cables. Not even crashes (well some crashes) but even landing in some dewy grass will short out a WS board.

All went away when I switched to digital specifically DJI fpv goggles. Ive flown in places where there are so many concrete and never had issues. I think analog will suffer in those places. I fly DJI and analog both on 5 inch mostly. Everything smaller than 5 inch i only fly analog. At this point i don't like analog, ive used it for too long and i'm bored. But i still have some old analog goggles to use on my 3''. But im putting the 03 in my analog quad!!!
ive been flying analog since ive sgtarted flying about 2 years ago. maybe i like the oldschool grainy chs kinda look. however Ive been running basic eachines box goggles, def just buying some analog gogs is the way to go. however i like my minimal latency of analog, but i completely appreciate hd and digital platforms. got to look through a a buddies goggeles , lmao its amazing seing the bird crap ontop of parking lot lights. hahaa i love all flying, however im at home in analog flying, i like to pull all of my ir filters out of my quads to help the low light situations. I def get scared around trees in winter, in the summer its not to scary. thank you for you work you put into this video homie 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@TyDoesTech def you got a subscriber outa me, its funny, the only thing i flew that was digital was a 7 inch quad for a minute or so, i can say for shure coming from the oposite spectrum of vtx systems it was super fun and different, there was a delay but it was a very early system of dji though. ill def keep an eye our for your vids 🤘
Yeah, I wouldn't have tried analog if I didn't have HDZero goggles. Basically, it's a waste of time on any other platform. Also, you should have just used your existing 5.8 antennas for the module. But now you have a sweet set of analog goggles. Go fly long range now!!
So I fly analog, dji, and walksnail weekly if not daily. I have action cameras but only really use them for drone work or the random flying location. If i need image quality I fly DJI. Although DJI is video quality king, a good analog system is just way more fun in my opinion. The weight is lower, the latency is lower, the cost of repairs is lower, and they go farther...with the right setup. I like walksnail and am pretty heavily invested in it as well, however I've been having a range of issues with different Caddx products lately and have gone back to flying more analog. I love my digital, but the more you fly analog, the more you start to enjoy flying it and appreciate it's qualities. IMO. Really good video though and I understand your point of view
I may just need to fly it more with different drones. Analog being cheaper is definitely an upside I can appreciate for sure and it’s crazy responsive. Thank you for watching!
@@TyDoesTech get yourself a 5inch with a ratel2 cam and tx800 vtx ;) the combo costs less then 50bucks and you will get a nice setup. a digital cam vtx combo costs the triple.
I have the Avata 2 and all my other stuff is analog running on FarShark HD3. I really like the clarity of the dji, but I'm not really interested in building a dji drone. I like the light weight of analog and i don't feel like I can blame branch crashes on my video. I'd probably hit it either way. Lol. Might try Walksnail sometime in the future, but i like my low cost/low stress analog for now. Mainly flying whoops outside btw
I wonder why the video feed looks so bad. It's almost as if there was a ton of RF interference going on. I've gotten better picture out of 12 year plus old analogue gear. Your set up should be getting better feed than that TBH. But yeah, Digital is the way. I fly walksnail in my large quads and HD Zero in the micros and whoops now.
I guess if you started flying with HD goggles then analog would be a horrible experience, I personally love flying analog, I have DJI v2 goggles but I've only ever set one quad up with a Vista, I enjoy digital but flying analog is still what I prefer.
Analog or hdzero 90 fps makes freestyle and racing easier. The better latency and no freezing or black screen with bad singal. Hd is only good for wings imo
to be fair the goggles integra are cheaper than most accaptable quality analog goggles. It's mostly the price of the vtx in your drone that saves your money
@@Nik_FPV621 They aren't cheaper than goggles I already own, I bought my analog goggles 4 or 5 years and they are still going strong. I have flown a avata and I know digital won't make me a better pilot. If I go digital it will be HDZ though not DJI.
Been flying analog for 6 years now and still never tried digital, I use cheap $100 goggles and VTXs. Just don't know if I have it in me to spend that much money, especially on an O3 air unit just to crash it into a lake or something.
Going from digital to analog is crazy backwards long live analog. digital for professional work analog for play 22 analog quad 1 DJI air unit for professional work
Still flying analog, cant afford to go full on digital yet. And still nervous about putting that kind of cash into something that may wind up in a tree, like my last th2.
so many racers still use analog, analog has its place, the big problem is hdzero is to expensive for what you get if the price and availability was better yes time to totally switch but thats not here yet but open ipc might be the solution in the future
All my quads are analog included the nazgul but yeah... the insane amount of money that go for a pair of analog goggles is simply STUPID. It's analog, there's no point charging this much. Other than that, I do enjoy flying analog tinywhoops as they're actually a fun thing to do.
Good for you big spender, not all of us can justify the expense. This is like someone who owns a Lamborghini stating, "Ugh, could never drive a Cadillac!"
You need to try an analog Discus lol or hdzero or o3 It's all I fly but Analog is just on rails it's all about premium analog. see too many ppl get crap analog but to me premium analog kills digital cause it's locked in and can be bashed to crap without worrying about a 300$ vts cam system
When you fly normal RC you see and hear your airplane or helicopter and it's awesome. When you fly FPV you normally don't have hearing as in 99% of the times they only transmit video and not sound so as soon as you fly away from yourself you only have video. So a 100% of your fpv enjoyment is video ... but if you can't see shit ... then how can you enjoy anything? I fly analog untill I accidenly cut the wire of a kite that was in the air with my 5 inch. I looked at the DVR footage and at no point could I see the kite, the wire or even the little kid on the ground flying it. I boug that poor kid a new kite and that was the last time I flew analog. Even for racing, hdzero offers lower latency then the best analog camera system. These cameras are still digital and they do have latency. So then what is left for analog? Only tinywhoops. Analog systems are simply lighter and when flying a tinywhoop every gram matter. A 20g tinywhoop and you can shave of 2 grams? That's 10% that's a HUGE weight safe.
Analog has damn good video if you have good components. But, if you are not racing, there is really no point of going with analog. I love my HDZero quad, don't get me wrong, but full sending a analog quad is easier on the wallet then a HD quad.
I don't know what you do wrong but that's definitely not my probleme 😂, I run digital and analog and sorry bit if you don't know what you know you're gonna get what you have like what I see here 😅
Turn the goggles on and everything just works. Loool thats not how dji works. I tried to switch to dji and because of "log in here and here and there.... And by the way we spy on u for the government" i went with walksnail which has its place but u cant beat a 20€ cam and 20€ vtx setup. Also not every analog goggle costs 600 bucks. U can get really good goggles from eachine and skyzone for around 200 or some used fatshark hd's for around 150... that issue is non existant in my opinion. I fly HDz, walksnail and analog and each system has its place with walksnail being the alround king with the new low latency mode on the nano vtx; hdz being the latency king for racers and the new whoop boards are awesome and good old analog as the price/performance king.
I like Birthday Cake better than Mushrooms, (But I can't afford Digital anyways. Plus I want to respond to now rather than few ms later)( this review has a disoriented perspective not from experienced objectivity)
Analogue is great for a beginner.. It’s far cheaper than digital so great if wanting to try FPV & not wanting to spend a fortune or on a budget.. Your just being a snob as from a digital background… I suppose it’s a downgrade.. You’re not being an impartial reviewer… I have DJI but still love ripping with my FatSharks & Emax Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle 😀👍 .. Also regarding the screen DVR .. that’s really only for recording if wanting to keep your stats or find your drone if crashes .. Most put a quality camera for recording footage .. my TinyHawk is small but can still carry a Insta Go or Runcam Thumb camera
when I look at the 1080hd feeds, I feel I want even better than that, somethin more like vr. So, needless to say, when I see this shit it just remind me of watching 5 channels on my grandpas box tv with foil antennas lol. hell nah
You need to get used to it before a comparison like this. I feel like you have to have a much better idea of your surroundings to be comfortable with analogue, definitely not for everyone!
Analog is able to record and the vtx you choose has everything to do with clear image. Mine looks better then hdzero. But I have fat shark goggles and I keep my quad in perfect condition. Zeus vtx 800mw. Long range is clear. Get your facts straight before you make a bold statement like you are
I bought the $110 HGLRC Draknight, that is basically a copy of the Lightning but with a led and a buzzer, and also $100 analog goggles (EV800D) and my DVR looks way better than yours :-)
Imma be honest, your analog video looks ass. I exclusively fly analog and trust me, you can get it to be a lot better than this. First off, you saved money on the module, and i hate to say it but a better module makes a hell of a difference. The only two that actually look good in my mind are the TBS one and the Rapid Fire, the Speedy Bee one does not look as clean in my experience. Secondly, im not shure what vtx that pre-built you flew uses, but using a decent vtx also significantly increases the clarity of the video. I like to run a Rush VTX, but on smaller quads i use the TBS nano, and it gets pretty clean video. But i have another observation, your video seemed to be very bad on throttle punches, does this build have a caparcitor? If not, that would definetly clean the video up a bit, or even adding an aditional bec or filter for the vtx to give it cleaner power could be a solution. I honestly understand why you hated your video feed, it looks horrible. But i can promise you, analog can get way better than that. it just takes a bit of tinkering and sometimes expensive gear. I have tried walksnail and dji before, i will probably at some point upgrade to walksnail, but analog just has a charme to it. To me it feels nostalgic, and especially when flying whoops through the house, i just prefer the feel of analog (also low wright).
Yea I’m sure there was a lot I could’ve done to get better video in my end. I might play with it a bit more. It definitely has a nostalgic feel to it for sure…kind of heart warming tbh
I don't know why those modern analog drone cameras show so crappy video, and some other bloggers still say like it's the best cams. I saw some 10 years old FPV analog videos from airplanes with much much nicer quality and more clear picture. Sure analog can be much better than what modern quads show. Old days of FPV are golden, my 100 dollars stuff in 2013 was showing better picture haha.
this look really bad, just get a better cam and a better vtx and as soon your setup isn’t trash just you could save 2 dollars, you will have a really good experience
analog for lyfe
It’s “life” and it sucks to be you. My gosh people are getting dumber
yes OFC!

Btw. I like your calm style, also that you tell your opinion in the beginning and the why later, the subdivisions in the video, etc. Thanks!
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words!
I just sold my Analog goggles yesterday, i had the skyzone sky02o's and i sold them for the DJI v2 goggles super exited to use the 03 unit! At this point i don't like analog, ive used it for too long and i'm bored. But i still have some old analog goggles to use on my 3''. But im putting the 03 in my analog quad!!!
Digital was a game changer but analog with whoops is the best
ive been flying analog since ive sgtarted flying about 2 years ago. maybe i like the oldschool grainy chs kinda look. however Ive been running basic eachines box goggles, def just buying some analog gogs is the way to go. however i like my minimal latency of analog, but i completely appreciate hd and digital platforms. got to look through a a buddies goggeles , lmao its amazing seing the bird crap ontop of parking lot lights. hahaa i love all flying, however im at home in analog flying, i like to pull all of my ir filters out of my quads to help the low light situations. I def get scared around trees in winter, in the summer its not to scary. thank you for you work you put into this video homie 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Lol seeing birds dump through digital is hilarious. Thank you for watching and sharing your experience!
Thank you for subscribing!
I have a 65 mm walksnail whoop and love it
you really need the crossfire module and better antenna's you can get much reception than you got with what you bought
Yea the rapid fire was the first thing I looked at before the speedy be module. The rapid fire is a little pricey
Analog and HDZero!
I prefer analog for tiny whoops and long range, for freestyle its gotta be digital!
I guess if you started flying with HD goggles then analog would be a horrible experience, I personally love flying analog, I have DJI v2 goggles but I've only ever set one quad up with a Vista, I enjoy digital but flying analog is still what I prefer.
i mean, for whoops racer analog is the only answer ( maybe hdzero with the new AIO, but still hevy )
Analog or hdzero 90 fps makes freestyle and racing easier. The better latency and no freezing or black screen with bad singal. Hd is only good for wings imo
I still rip analog, digital is too expensive
to be fair the goggles integra are cheaper than most accaptable quality analog goggles.
@@minimaistor that’s an argument yes, analog hardware won’t be outdated as quickly
@@Nik_FPV621because it’s already 65 year old tech. 😂
@@APS-yo8oy 😂
Didnt realise that the O4O is cheap 😅. Nice video tho
Been flying analog for 6 years now and still never tried digital, I use cheap $100 goggles and VTXs. Just don't know if I have it in me to spend that much money, especially on an O3 air unit just to crash it into a lake or something.
Going from digital to analog is crazy backwards long live analog. digital for professional work analog for play 22 analog quad 1 DJI air unit for professional work
Cool video bro 👍.. but I started flying with analog and still fly analog it works for me..
The goggles 3 are 300$ rn on amazon, just that this had been said...
Still flying analog, cant afford to go full on digital yet.
And still nervous about putting that kind of cash into something that may wind up in a tree, like my last th2.
I completely understand
when you have the right setup and equipment, you don't get static.
I believe they gave you a bunch of battery straps, not goggle straps
ya analog is great for small cheap drones
Analog is all I know I want to try digital I only been flying 1 year
Analog is great for racing , for everything else, just use your fancy walksnail…
other than whoops, i plan to never fly analog again. It was great while it was the best, but now its just to many compromises.
Whoops and racing drones for me.
so many racers still use analog, analog has its place, the big problem is hdzero is to expensive for what you get if the price and availability was better yes time to totally switch but thats not here yet but open ipc might be the solution in the future
The cheaper digital gets the harder it’s going to be for Analog to compete. Analog will always have its place though it seems
digital = Expensive, Easy, Insane image, Decent lag. Analog = cheaper, more complex, badish image, cheaper repairs, low ms, good for racing
Everything is about saving and budgeting!
You need to try an analog Discus lol or hdzero or o3 It's all I fly but Analog is just on rails it's all about premium analog. see too many ppl get crap analog but to me premium analog kills digital cause it's locked in and can be bashed to crap without worrying about a 300$ vts cam system
Analog Rules
03 life no hd cams = lighter quads
It's actually cheaper also!
Analog has damn good video if you have good components. But, if you are not racing, there is really no point of going with analog. I love my HDZero quad, don't get me wrong, but full sending a analog quad is easier on the wallet then a HD quad.
This is very very very true. I think walksnail/HDzero is going to be my happy medium
analog will be king for a while, digital still isn't there yet to beat it.
I agree, for the price of entry. Digital is getting cheaper though!
Going from digital to analog would be a very bad experience.
Digital but s/o to analog I just can't do it lol
Long live analog!
I respect it!
when I look at the 1080hd feeds, I feel I want even better than that, somethin more like vr.
Get your facts straight before you make a bold statement like you are
You cannot record Analog DVR on the Goggles X. You need an external DVR module…
Bro is super rich he spent 374 usd for analog googles that too got pro version and here I am satisfied with 100 usd googles 😂
It’s just budgeting and saving man. you’ll know I’m rich when I start flying $2000 RC planes lol
I bought the $110 HGLRC Draknight, that is basically a copy of the Lightning but with a led and a buzzer, and also $100 analog goggles (EV800D) and my DVR looks way better than yours :-)
Awesome!
Come on, of course if it was the same price people would buy digital, but anallog for tinywhoop
Anolog
You tried to use analog cause it was cheaper... So... 🤷🏻
lol analog can do things the other systems cant
You are correct!
this look really bad, just get a better cam and a better vtx and as soon your setup isn’t trash just you could save 2 dollars, you will have a really good experience
Analog for Freestyle, Digital for Professional work.
