SISSE with the TABERNACLE CHOIR

I watched this concert live in Salt Lake City. I was blown away
This piece wasn't meant to feature the choir. It was meant to be a solo, singular, quiet and still, with melodic support so soft that it would hardly be noticed. You can hear her sing with full choir support in several of her other renditions with the Tabernacle Choir. Also, just to point out the incredible control it takes to sing such a piece at such a low volume is something that very few singers can do. She is incredible.
The choir did sing "with her" rather than support, in other parts of this concert (July 2019). e.g. How Great Thou Art. She has been invited to be guest soloist 3 times at the Tabernacle. And this is a local historical event. There had never been a standing ovation here mid-concert before. The conductor had to climb down twice from his podium to allow her to take the applause of 18000+
Thank you for reacting to Sissel. She is the national treasure of Norway and a superstar in Scandinavia. Her voice is very powerful and she has been performing for decades. Try also react to her stunning performances of "Pie Jesu" and "O Holy Night".
❤
Harri!!!! This Is Greatness!! And From My Home Town In Beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah!! I'm Also A 46 Year Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints-- Thank You, For Sharing!!!
First time I have heard her. Flawless
That song was amazing. The choir let Sissel take over on that song she was filled with the spirit of God. Some of the other songs during the concert the choir joins in better.
Funny I stumbled upon this video, because my dad actually sings in the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square to this day.
Having a dad in this choir for over 8 years has been a massive blessing for me. I’ve been to the choir’s Christmas concerts (which are always LEGENDARY), the weekly Music and the Spoken Word concerts, Easter concerts, and all other concerts.
I don’t mean for you to review these songs, unless you want to, but I think you’d really, REALLY like them based off your reactions to Slow Down:
•Art Thou With Me
•A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief
•Slow Down (especially good for calming one down during stressful times)
•How Great Thou Art
•Come, Come Ye Saints
•Praise to the Man
•Joseph Smith’s First Prayer
These are all songs by the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square which I have grown to love! Of course, there are still many others which are just as good. I hope you’ll like these if you try them!❤️
This is such a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it. 💞
Her voice is a big hug, just when you need one.
This song was part of a whole program, and there is probably more of the choir in other songs. I am so glad you were able to hear Sissel's performance here. She is the only person ever to receive a standing ovation from the audience sitting in that building, over 18,000 folks! You are absolutely right -- she was born to perform in this type of genre ; however, excluding her from any other genre would be a mistake. I urge you to seek out more of her performances, as well as those of the choir!😊
I've been to a few of the Christmas concerts in the Conference Center and they ALL finish with standing ovations.
She brings us Into His Presence ... Yeshua the Prince of Peace!
Her talent, training and skill are an inter-dimensional transport to spiritual understanding. God Bless Sissel!
Wow! Absolutely beautiful!
She is Norweigen. What a beautiful voice and physically lovely. She sings a beautiful version of "Pie Jesu" from "Requiem". She has performed for years and has not lost a note.
One of my all time favorite performances for many years. ❤
What a beautiful way to start my day!!!
Oh man, that was... beautiful
Those strings.. 😍 Such perfect timing and harmony when the choir comes in at 4:12 and you hardly notice.. just beautiful! ❤
❤
Thank you so much for your great reaction to this amazing performance 🙏🤩 If you want to listen to the choir sing with her, please react to "O store Gud" (How great Thou art ") from the same concert. She sings the first verse in swedish (the composer of this song is from Sweden). Here is a link :

Her voice is absolutely perfect its heavenly,
Sissel transforms me when she sings that song. So moving. SUPERB
I think the audience is still applauding to this day.
I was there and am still applauding in 2024. This is the most powerful music in my 70:years.
Very beautiful. She reminds me of Barbara Streisand with her lovely voice
being courted by the violins. And the accompanying orchestra, just heavenly.
Like you Harri I was expecting a full choir backing. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Agnete. Beautiful.Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
❤
Streisand was an idol of the child Sissel. She imitated her when in her early teens. But there is blue water between their voices and even singing styles. La Streisand is a dramatic soprano where Kyrkjebo is a lyric one.
Thank you Harri for a great reaction ❤ Sorry that you did not get your massive choir 😊 I have heard this song, time and time again, she always brings water to my eyes. I’m not very religios, but I do believe in listening to your Inner voice 😇🥰 and one Can Call it God 😇😊
Sissel was the humming voice along side Celine Dione in Titanic ❤😢 She sings many different stiles of Music
Have been singing with José Careras (operah) and Neil Sedaka and more.... You have reacted to her before in Going Home, I Think it was called ❤ I Think that she has reached a maturety that transends ❤❤❤
Quite beautiful, Harri. A bit of a change from Kashmir, no? With neither lacking for wonder. 😮
Such a beautiful voice and song. Agnete, thank you for this contribution. Harri, your review was spot-on.
Wow!! Great!!
Wonderful reaction Harri but you also reacted to the Dvorak tune Going Home by Sissel a while back
Hi Harri! Suggesting Wilhelmenia Wiggins Fernandez singing La Wally from the film Diva. So beautiful.
Happy Holidays!
A very beautiful song, Agnete and her voice. Wow.❤
Thank you ❤
THANK YOU! My SOUL is at rest tonight.
Love your comments about her. great job!
I was fortunate to be at the concert when this was recorded. It was an amazing experience to be in a hall of 20,000 people where everyone could hear this amazing hush. I have been going to concerts for way over 50 years but this one song was totally unique in all that experience. When she finished there was a ovation of silence before the audience went wild with tears and smiles. Sissel is a favorite in Tab Choir land and this song cemented her reputation for all time.
I had the chance to meet her when I did a signing with her. She is truly a lovely and kind woman.
That's called the spirit and it is from God.
Hermosa presentación! ❤
Absolutely beautiful!!!
I love your channel!
I agree - it would have been double orgasmic if the choir had been singing along with lyrics.
The choir really wanted to showcase her!
Love her!
Perhaps Harri, You Could Please 🙏 React To: Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square: "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing" (2020) Version
