There is definitely a stink to the 2nd story. Vague mentions of voting against Issac's rights, The immediate jump to threating the cops and saying they feel unsafe over some passive aggressive feels overdramatic. Like Issac's being a major dick to be sure but nothing indicated any physical danger he's just an annoying douchebag. If it was just the family against him then maybe it could just be Issac's the golden child but the fact that none of OP's friends are explicitly on his side either feels really ehhhh.

    January- Jan for a girl
February- yeah good luck with that one, I'm Turkish so Ebru is a normal name to me for a girl, but not so much in anglophone countries
March- bit of a stretch but drop the M and you get Arch/ Archie?
April- Works fine for a girl
May- Works fine for a girl
June- Works fine for a girl
July- Julie, Jules or the months namesake Julius, if ya fancy
August- Works fine and gender neutral
September- Ember is becoming a pretty popular girl's name and it sounds cool as hell
    October - Toby
November- Probably ember again, Nova exists but it's a pretty new name
December- Dec's the best contraction of that name for a guy, refer to the last three months if it's a girl.

Upload had too much Thanksgiving food, was in a food coma until later
Will say on the first story, something that the guys didn’t clue into but I think was interesting was the note that the girlfriend didn’t ask the boyfriend to go no contact with his mother, even though his mother also voted the same way as the father. This feels like a relationship that needs conversation and probably therapy, because it’s clear there’s possibly some issues here that need to be worked out where the question of “is me not wanting to cut my family out completely because even if I disagree with them I still want them to be in my life going to become a tension point” needs to be resolved. And I think this is something that will probably need a few weeks of tension de-escalation before resolution because the stresses are really high. I think Reddit often goes fast to “yes cut people out of your life go no contact” so fast that it really does kinda overshadow how hard it can be to have that especially in cases like this.

relying on labour imports and international trade that doesnt recirculate is a game of chicken developed countries will almost always lose. The only way to increase your wealth individually is for your economic circle to produce that wealth, since money gained from international trade gains its value from LABOUR, not the wealth produced by it.
cheap labour from foreign workers is great till you realise you are just diluting your production capacity to bolster your international trade power. Yes it frees up your citizens to work on more valuable stuff but how much of that actually goes to them, to the people the cheaper labour pushes off? the profits literally just get funelled into companies that reinvest it: where is it being reinvested? the places production is increasing with cheaper labour value which is always not your country since you only have economic migrants of this sort (cheap labour replacement) BECAUSE you have higher labour costs

  • @RockmanX47
    @RockmanX47 28 дней назад +3

So the second story had a lot more angles to explore that just didn't because while they assumed Isaac was gay, they didn't really put together the idea that banning him from Thanksgiving could just be taken by Isaac as disowning him. You already threatened the cops on him and he could not show up being as heated as he is, but not extending the invitation gives a bad message that makes things worse regardless of the gf's feelings.
Also I love how it smells of "creative writing".
That said, the fuck you mean you named dudes July and August? You literally have Julius, Augustus, and Julian as options right there. Those months were literally named after dudes!

People vote for political candidates for a lot of reasons. It's not okay to break contact with someone because of who they voted for... BUT, it is perfectly okay to cut contact with someone if their values are radically different than yours, and you often learn peoples' values based on who they voted for and why. And a lot of trump voters do have truly abhorrent values.

Republicans call Mexicans rapist n murders in stages, refute to Puerto Rico as trash island, wanna destroy naturalized citizenship (but only ever refer to in in the case of black/brown/POC peoples and not the fact that WHITE PEOPLE are all naturalized; anyone except Native Americans are) and want people inspecting your kids genitals while they read the Bible in public schools. How are you meant to be amicable with people who would vote for this level of myopia and hatefulness, unless your left leaning beliefs are for show and can be massaged away for a nice meal or a reoccurring presence in your life. Readers, it’s not wrong to cut people out if they voted against your livelihood or autonomy, if they care/did care, they’ll put in the work to be better going forward or would’ve done the barest amount of research before hand. Stop writing them cheques they can’t clear; stop thinking it’s okay that they don’t mean it to X or Y person personally so that makes it okay that they vote against X or Y’s autonomy; take your position, stand on that bitch, and do what you hafta do to maintain your safety and mindfulness. The people who care will make the changes, will do the work, will see your POV. And if they don’t, they aren’t worth the seat at the table, not sorry. It’ll be hard, but it’ll be best for you.
