There is definitely a stink to the 2nd story. This feels like a relationship that needs conversation and probably therapy, because it’s clear there’s possibly some issues here that need to be worked out where the question of “is me not wanting to cut my family out completely because even if I disagree with them I still want them to be in my life going to become a tension point” needs to be resolved. And I think this is something that will probably need a few weeks of tension de-escalation before resolution because the stresses are really high. I think Reddit often goes fast to “yes cut people out of your life go no contact” so fast that it really does kinda overshadow how hard it can be to have that especially in cases like this.
I feel the difference is the personalities. You can be a Trump voter or Liberal yet don't make it part of your personality. So we can assume she does not make a deal out of it in the dining table unlike daddy.
The 2nd story having the gf overreacting by crying and saying l don't feel safe when man is being misogynist is 1 she's such a child, and 2 hilarious because she didn't have that reaction to the guy being actually misogynistic, but did to the bit.
relying on labour imports and international trade that doesnt recirculate is a game of chicken developed countries will almost always lose. The only way to increase your wealth individually is for your economic circle to produce that wealth, since money gained from international trade gains its value from LABOUR, not the wealth produced by it. cheap labour from foreign workers is great till you realise you are just diluting your production capacity to bolster your international trade power. Yes it frees up your citizens to work on more valuable stuff but how much of that actually goes to them, to the people the cheaper labour pushes off? the profits literally just get funelled into companies that reinvest it: where is it being reinvested? the places production is increasing with cheaper labour value which is always not your country since you only have economic migrants of this sort (cheap labour replacement) BECAUSE you have higher labour costs
So the second story had a lot more angles to explore that just didn't because while they assumed Isaac was gay, they didn't really put together the idea that banning him from Thanksgiving could just be taken by Isaac as disowning him. You already threatened the cops on him and he could not show up being as heated as he is, but not extending the invitation gives a bad message that makes things worse regardless of the gf's feelings. Also I love how it smells of "creative writing". That said, the fuck you mean you named dudes July and August? You literally have Julius, Augustus, and Julian as options right there. Those months were literally named after dudes!
I completely agree that this story smells of creative writing. I feel like they were, "how can I write a story where a trump supporter is a reason good guy in this story?" I also agree that Issac being banned does feel like him being disowned. I feel like it's a bit of an overreaction that can be solved by, say it with me, talking to each other.
The naming tradition is hilarious because it sounds so cool in theory but if you think about it for a few seconds you realize it means theres like a 60% chance your child has a name that doesnt sound like a name, 90% if it's a boy 😂
I could make a Matt Eberflus timing joke, but he's already fired, and I don't know how many people in the MBT, Danny, and Peeps circle care to understand any amount of American football.

Fuck em both. I wouldn't have spoken in that way but why just her? They're a team and he doesnt give a shit.
Very cool how they talk about why wishing bad things would happen to Latines and other minorities that voted for trump is a flawed way of thinking and ultimately causes harm and estranges you from people and some people in the comments section are immediately clamoring to say "erm actually you're being too soft on trump voters and they deserve everything bad that happens to them" like. i can see why they uploaded this episode late on youtube specifically lol
Yeah trump voters suck and are idiots. A lot of liberals are idiots too, what's your point? Of course most of us understand nuance and know that "not all x are bad" but that's completely missing the point. It's not black and white, nothing is. But if you voted for trump you are fucked in certain ways that are... different from most other people who voted otherwise.
One thing that I've learned after interacting with politics for long enough is that the vast, vast majority of people are actually completely OK with atrocities being committed, as long as it happens to the "right" people. Seriously, I feel like I've been going crazy over this past month trying to explain to liberals that openly cheering about Latinos getting deported isn't cool even if they voted for Trump. Like, not having the capacity for maximum empathy is one thing, I completely understand that, but actively cheering for it is absolutely disgusting.
@@sushiroll3795idk that sounds like liberal civility politics, atm it seems like that would be an over reaction with the trump cabinet backing off the more extreme promises of the campaign, but it was the full deportation camps, elimination of political rivals, revoking of human rights then the last thing im gonna be is civil, maybe im off idk
This episode showed my how soft they were when treating Trump voters. They made their bed and they have to lie in it. I won't have tolerance for Trump voters and if certain demographics ( i.e. women, Hispanic / Latino citizens, etc. ) voted for him and their best interests, why should I feel bad if they are treated harshly. If they voted for him after the campaign he ran, then good luck to them and trying to survive. My compassion and empathy for them is tapped out and my tolerance does not extend to them.
Yeah, like, people suffering is bad and I would want everyone to be better but also like... you cant help but feel the schadenfreude. If someone who constantly yells about not vaccinating gets sick, we dont go "do not laugh at this heartbreaking tragedy, you are a monster if you are mean to them". Because come on... it do be funny.
I mean, on one hand, I 100% get where the shaudenfreude comes from and indulge in it myself from time to time. On the other hand, it can very easily cross a line into supporting bigotry and atrocities just because they're targeted at the "right" people. Like, for example, there's a big difference between "Welp, those stupid Latino Trump voters are gonna get exactly what they voted for" and "I can't wait to watch those stupid Latino Trump voters get deported!" Some people are getting a little TOO excited to watch the leopards eat people's faces, y'know?
"How are you still here" Idk I like hearing what everyone thinks even if I disagree with them and I like you guys. I miss the world where people could disagree about things tbh.
I appreciate the open mindedness and I agree that we can disagree on a lot of policies, like how much money to invest in the military compared to other sectors, changing taxation, how to tackle a possible demographic crisis and other things. But when it's about putting the life of other people at risk, spreading discriminatory rethoric that harms people I care about I have to draw the line there. The right to live and to personal freedom are just not things that I can compromise on. Lastly while I wouldn't want people with certain beliefs in my personal life, I still think that it's important to keep an open channel for discussion, to try and see if we can find a way to make people I don't agree with understand my point of view.
I miss the world where folks like you had principles and didn't align with the far right for political advantage. Perhaps the better question is, how can you possibly be an out conservative in America in good conscience?
@@ccjl9160 This is a really boolean conception of this situation. I'm not far right. Im pretty sure I have feelings that would upset either party and don't fully align with either. I used to be an avid Trump supporter because it was a break in the pattern that seemed hopeful. I don't really follow social media or news that much at all and don't really like the dynamic at all these days though. If I voted it would have been for Kamala because that's what my friends wanted. But I've been accused of being a libtard and far right and etc. I just have feelings and I don't want to participate really in the way others do at least. Not really sure how to put it concisely but I think you get the idea.
“My parents committed a crime that they knew the consequences for and aren’t even being faced with them yet, am I allowed to hate people who want to enforce the laws that every developed country enforces because I subjectively think all illegal immigrants deserve to stay wherever they wish undocumented?” Just asinine. The left loves to point to Europe when talking about social doctrine and legislation and refuse to accept that undocumented immigration is an actual problem. The argument is never “documentation should be easier” it’s always “just let us illegally stay” and get mad at any opposition and call them the devil. Demonizing people for their beliefs literally lost the left a slam dunk election and they still DONT GET IT. Centrists leaned right because they were made to feel like the devil for not holding each and every belief the left has

Like, for example, there's a big difference between "Welp, those stupid Latino Trump voters are gonna get exactly what they voted for" and "I can't wait to watch those stupid Latino Trump voters get deported!" Some people are getting a little TOO excited to watch the leopards eat people's faces, y'know?
sadisticly enjoying rightists when their party screws them over is peak liberalism
"How are you still here"
Idk I like hearing what everyone thinks even if I disagree with them and I like you guys. I miss the world where people could disagree about things tbh.
Well, try to either not judge things extremely superficially or acknowledge that you are and don't spread that like it's constructive criticism.
@Amber-b2n if that's where you're at, you're not the type of person they were talking about there
“My parents committed a crime that they knew the consequences for and aren’t even being faced with them yet, am I allowed to hate people who want to enforce the laws that every developed country enforces because I subjectively think all illegal immigrants deserve to stay wherever they wish undocumented?” Just asinine. Centrists leaned right because they were made to feel like the devil for not holding each and every belief the left has
Why are you here? No one likes or agrees with you
not reading all that i love my illegal immigrant homies
@ “we shouldn’t enforce laws against people I like” the liberal mind cannot comprehend consequences for their actions
@@ErosIRL nah i just fw them they can stay
