Great video. I'm looking to start investing in the stock market and other asset classes with $60k this quarter. Should I focus on index funds or individual stocks? Preferably want the route with the best return in investment. Thanks!
Index funds are a safer bet to start. They offer good diversification. But individual stocks could make you a fortune if you know how to go about it. Some people make upper six figures yearly from investing alone. But it's always a good idea to work with a financial advisor. It raises your chance of profit by a lot.

A very wise and realistic assessment of the future of the company. Looks like JIO FIN will become number one company of NSE with hghest market cap in coming years.

I respect your opinion but in fin sector most use matrics is PB, currently Jio fin is trading at 1.54 PB also they have secured permission to stake sale upto 49% and easily can raise money upto 65 K Cr mean PB of around 1, yes they don't have proper bussiness but if a company have networth is equal to it's market cap, and belongs to a good family, I don't think it is a bad deal. If i mistaken in my analysis, welcome you to corrct me.😊

This is just my speculations but you should remember that Mota Bhai's younger brother also carries the family name and his business didn't did well for the share holders.
Peeps dont know she already has a video on this stock in Stock of the month series So basically, I could have got this info for free😅. Or say she created 1 more video without doing anything😅
Question/clarity needed. The way you calculated PE ratio of jio financial services that 43% of 136 = 59. That means remaining PE is of Reliance industries 136-59= 77. However, if we check reliance industries PE it is 29 only. Why aren't the numbers matching? I definitely feel that jio financial services is overvalued but it must be having a higher PE than 59.
The company has on its books 6.1% shares of Reliance and that value is based on 6.1% market cap of Reliance Industries (which is at the PE that Reliance Industries trades). Using an example - if you are buying a house and in this there is a safe which has jewelry worth 10L and that comes with it. So your house value should be seen as price minus 10L of jewelry. How jewelry (Reliance Industries) is valued at 10L is a separate process and should not be equated with house valuation. So Jio Fin (house) valuation is different and Reliance Ind (Jewelry) valuation is different.
Your analysis can be applied if RIL is planning to sell their stake in Jio, to understand what is the Jio PE. The analysis is not an apple to apple comparison.
Earnings only includes the dividends paid for the share it holds (6.1%). This is like if you hold money in bank and it pays you interest - it is shown as earnings by way of interest.
Good analysis. Also entity is headed by KV Kamath. Can u please provide some light on L &T fin and idfc first bank. Investors can also throw some ideas here.
Reliance shares does not need any analysis, sirf naam hi kaafi hai. Since you have reduced the share price to just standalone operating business of Financial services, have you reduced the dividend income from RiL to arrive at core operating income and then calculate the P/E?
Good observation. It is not a perfect model - it is simply a quick alternate way of looking at things. The dividends makes for slightly less than 15% of their 2024 earnings (217 Cr of 1585 Cr) - however the book value is sizably influenced by the overall value they hold (56%+ as per her workings). Effectively if you reduce the share price by 56% but reduce the earnings by only 15% - you will be left with a book value of

They are sitting on huge cash pile of 134,000 crores. They also have got an approval to raise foreign investment upto 49% which would drive the cash pile to 200,000 crores. If you take the best NBFC Bajaj also which has only 76,000 crores of reserves. I think Jio will go with a Blitzkrieg strategy as it did in the past. The cost of capital for JFS is close 0%.They could disrupt the market even if they sacrifice 0.5% of NIM considering India a very price sensitive market

Thanks for the information but I feel there are some gaps in information like jio hold stake in reliance and while valuing this you haven't considered a haircut bcz jio intention is not to liquidate the reliance stake in near future. Further 2nd point is JIO is in financial space where price to book ratio is important and your focus was on PE... Totally strange 🤔
