    Tangella nailed it! But first....
This is actually a pretty decent movie. Aside from the made-for-TV problems that can't be helped, it scared the living waffles out of me when I saw it as a kid. That ending, super creepy. It totally makes up for the aforementioned problems. Great show, love you guys! And YES Tangella. I was 13 and my parents had recently purchased a COLOR TV set. It used an antenna on the roof, that we could turn for tuning in different channels with a control. You always had some level of electronic snow, or static on screen. Cable was not in our area.

Yes, this movie is just like John Carpenter's The Thing, only with no subtext or paranoia or atmosphere or tension or great pacing or great set design or awesome special effects or interesting dialogue or good picture quality. The soundtrack is typical of TV horror movies of that era, by which I mean it gives the sensation of chewing broken glass. At least it has that wonderful 1970s color palette of white, black, tan, beige and brown, sometimes spiced up with a splash of battleship gray.

I didn't buy Robert Culp sleeping without a shirt, under a flimsy sheet. Not when it's freezing cold out. Also, he tells Eli Wallach that the window was open, snow was blowing in and melting on the floor. They can't afford to keep those bases fully heated. I get the feeling that the writer didn't do a lot of research...
