If they ever do a live version of The Simpsons you definitely should be hired as the casting director! You nailed it!
You definitely have the right guy to cast as Moe and Mr Burns that mostly the late Chris Farley might have been good as Barney and also William h Macy as Ned Flanders.
Dude! If Chris Farley was still with us, he’d be a perfect Barney!!
William H Macy!
Totally agree with Chris Farley, He would've nailed it!
YES! William H Macy as Ned Flanders would be awesome!
Macy would be great but he's 72 now.
Seeing the guy Moe was based on was striking. It was like, "woah, that's him..."
Yup Hank Azaria(voice of Moe) said he based his Moe's voice of Rich's comedy stand up voice and the artist used Rich's facial features...and the best thing is Rich loves Moe and actually cosplays as him
And he based his comic book guy voice on his college roommate who in his words "knew every comic book down to the date they were put on the shelf"
Gawd…. I wish I wouldn’t have watched this video because now I really want this to happen but know it never will. I can’t “unsee” what could be 😭
I'd love a Couch gag with this cast.
You nailed Mow and Barney. I envisioned Byron Allen as Carl Carlson.
German politician Friedrich Merz (leader of the Christian Democrats) would be a perfect Mr Burns
It’s not about lookalikes. Acting is important.
Lol the brow and nose are pretty good on that guy
Klasse! Merz wäre wirklich die beste Wahl. 😁
No, lord Rothschild, whose Mr Burns is based on ☺️
@@jpetersgoyanks yeah, Merz absolutely fits the bill. Once a homeless man brought him back a laptop he lost. He gave the man nothing to thank him other than a letter and a copy of his own book about investing in the stock market to get rich. True story.
Moe was famously based on comedian Rich Hall, by Matt Groening. Likeness, and acerbic nature. Rich Hall is very funny, and extremely popular in the UK. His humour is very similar to the dark, angry, sarcastic, and self-deprecating humour that runs in the veins of most people in the UK - a place where you show how much you like your best friend, by being tremendously rude to them. It's a way of life.
My introduction was Not Necessarily The News with Rich Hall doing Sniglets
I'm a brit, we do like him but I wasn't aware he was the base character, I thought it was just a similaritie
@@cowetascore8476 same here. Not Necessarily the News and later SNL are my earliest memories of Rich Hall.
Great casting, Bryan. I hope you cast Bart and Lisa’s friends and teachers from their school including Principal Skinner, Nelson, and the other bullies.
This would be a fun tree house of horrors episode. We've never had a live action take!
This would be so clever!!!!
Good idea.
Been rewatching a few of your older videos lately. Always really enjoyable, well thought out and so relaxed with their presentation. Rich Hall is perfect, we're quite familiar with him in the UK too.
Don’t get me wrong.
I love Mr Burns.
I love Charles Dance.
But seeing them as the same person?… ehhhh
See unlike Moe I could imagine Willem Dafoe more as Mr Burns.
Fair point, it's hard to picture Charles Dance saying, "Place of birth - Pangea." Or do the part where Mr Burns is walking around glowing and looking like an alien. That is more in Willem Dafoe's wheelhouse if you choose between the two.
Rich Hall as Moe is bang-on, he even made a joke about this in one of his stand ups
I think Bryan Cranston is the Ned Flanders
Bill as Barney is genius
You should do a cast of a live action Red Dead Redemption or other video games.
that's a cool idea
I’d love to see a live action casting for Owl House.
Xochitl Gomez would* be a perfect live-action Luz, change my mind.
*Like, they were born the same year and everything.
I love Rich Hall... just saying. He's one of the few American comedians who has spent time making his name known in Britain - can you believe that until a few years ago I had no idea who Bill Burr was? But yeah, Rich Hall - AKA Otis Lee Crenshaw - great choice for Moe.
Recast The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
I'm looking forward to you casting the school characters; Skinner, Chalmers, Willie, Krapabble, Doris, Hoover, etc.
Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney would be interesting to see too
These are two are really obvious ones but Steve Buscemi as Herman and Gary Oldman as Ned (pretty sure they suggest that casting in the Simpsons itself). Also for some reason I can't shake Tom Hiddleston as Sideshow Mel. And I personally feel Larry David would have been a perfect Mr Burns, especially if they went the more goofy route with him
Larry David is too Jewish to play such an obviously WASPy character like Burns.
Hiddleston makes an excellent Mr. Burns if you want an age-blind casting.
Gary Olman for Ned is spot on!
Gary Oldman as Ned? No! Even though Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors ever! And yes, Larry David!
I knew you’d be spot on when you chose Rich Hall for Mo but Barney should’ve been Artie Lange.
I think your casting for Mr.Burns was a miss. Charles Dance is way too dignified and charismatic, even in comedy. I think Alan Alda could have fun with that role.
I was thinking Christopher Lloyd, he can play scary and evil perfectly. One of the kids in Dennis the Menace was actually scared of him because of how well he played his role.
@@MonkeyButtMovies1 Christopher Lloyd is a good shout aswell.
Jacob Rothschild is mr Burns end of story
These candidates are too tall. Ian McDiarmid sits in Palpatine's throne just like Burn's wing back chair.
Thank you! I was thinking the same. Mr. Burns has always reminded me of Alan Alda.
I love these Simpsons casts so much man, like
I’d watch a full on two hour cast of each and every single character that’s ever been in the series !
If he had not passed away in '94 he would have been too old, but John Candy would have made a great Barney.
Still; overall pretty good choices. 👍
Can you do a Live Action Fancasting for Adventure Time please.
I'd love to see you cast Sailor Moon. It's my favorite anime and I'd love to see someone tackle it.
David Harbour would make a good Barney
Rich Hall IS Moe, and now next time I see him it won't bug me trying to think who he reminds me of! 🤣😅
Absolutely almost perfect. You was close for Smithers with Eugene Levy and instead his son Dan Levy would fit Smithers
Michael Urie would be good
William H Macy as Ned Flanders. Been saying it since Fargo
I actually can see Eugene as Smithers to be honest, or Neil Patrick Harris.
You got to do Ned Flanders and his family next. Also Moleman.
Funny thing is about Rich Hall is that i remember in one of his stand up routines he outright achknowledges he does look like Moe. He was telling a story about how he was going to visit the Queen with a bunch of other celebrities with some guy at the palace introducing her late Majesty to each one and calling out their profession. (So for example he would say "Actor" or someting).
Rich Hall was worried because he realized in his own words "Holy shit the Queen watches TV!" so he went on a for a bit before making a joke saying "I was expecting him to go up to the Queen and go "Your majesty, here's Moe the Bartender from the Simpsons."" and that REALLY got a laugh out of me, because after he made that joke I was like "Holy crap...he does look like Moe!" so he is aware XD
My choice for Mr. Burns has always been John Malkovich.
Not for Mr Burns, but he'd be great as Abe or Jasper.
William H. Macy as Ned Flanders!
Recast Narnia.
Honestly surprised he's casting a live action Simpsons that's never going to happen as opposed to a Narnia series, that's been rumoured to be in the works by Netflix for ages.
Rick and Morty, Family Guy, Futurama, One piece, Archer, maybe even... Princess Mananoki
We still need the supporting family characters: Patty and Selma, Grandpa Abe Simpson, and Grandma Bouvier. As well as Ned, Maude and the boys. And yes, I want to see who would play Duffman
Please make Kevin Smith the Comic Book Guy, that would be epic!!!! :-D
With Mr Burns I'd cast Willem Fefoe. He's a great actor and can do old and evil. Don't forget he played Dracula in the fictionalized making of Nosferatu.'[sorry, I can't recall the title].
I know that he doesn't really fit the Age, but i can really see Giancarlo Esposito portray Mr. Burns in live action. I totally see him say "Excellent".
Also can you do Family Guy and Futurama next ?
Surely the wrong race as well, right?
All of the Simpsons are fucking yellow besides the black people. Nobody on the Simpsons is white you jackass. It's a fuckin cartoon you dickmunch
@@mikespearwood3914 Mr burns race isn't a big part of his character, and it wouldn't be done because of inclusivity so I don't see the problem
John Turturro would make a better Mo. He's already got a gruff voice. He's a bit tall and cool, but he could pull it off ace. And after seeing him in Anger Management we know he'd be great for Barts crank calls.
A younger John Goodman would have made a great Barney......mostly because he's an amazing actor.
Out of all the random Springfield citizens I'd love to see how you'd cast Herman Hermann
Michael Patrick Jann
@@ruxleec Was he in Reno 911? I based it on his performance in The State.
Mr. Burns is Bob Newhart or Teller. Smithers is Jim Parsons. Comic book guy is Brian Posehn.
All were spot on except for Smithers... Smithers should be more creepy, strange and gay!
No to Charles Dance.HYou need someone more frail...but still evil. Charles Dance is too manly.
I'd like to see you do a live action naruto cast.
I think the guy "cool rick" from the show patriot would make a more convincing barney
German comedian Atze Schörder just looks and is real life Disco Stu
LOVE your choices, especially Rich Hall; the PERFECT Moe Szyslak!
FROM left field here. but what about considering BRIAN REGAN as Barney?
... and AS you previously mentioned, Steve Buscemi, BUT as MR. BURNS? 🤩🤩
Rosie O'Donnell can play Homer Simpson Biden can play Mr Burns
David Hyde Pierce or Neil Patrick Harris as Smithers.
Do a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Fan-Casting please.
Hey Bryan, maybe you could do a cast of the Simpsons school characters, so Milhouse, Nelson, Skinner, Chalmers, Dolph, Jimbo, and Kerney, Mrs Krabappel (RIP), Mrs Hoover... really, there are so many options , it could be 2 parts entirely
The actor would plays sheldon,s father in young sheldon could play homer
I think Jeff Goldbloom would be a good Smithers.
Blake Masters of AZ (ran for US Senate in 2022) for Mr. Burns.
Theres only the first season of TMNT2012 you forgot to mention that.
For your last choice, I'm surprised that you didn't choose Dan Levy, but have him imitate his father (to a degree)
Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) as Ned Flanders in PERFECT casting
Love your choices for a Live Version of The Simpsons.
I think Ian McDiarmid (aka emperor Palpatine from Star Wars) would make a perfect Mr. Burns
That's if the actor desires a clear note of 'Yorik' in composing his epitaph. The impression they leave behind is their life's work after all.
Your choices are excellent. I think for Smithers that Dave Foley would be a better choice. Just my opinion
A friend of mine read about Moe being based on Rich Hall. He asked me if I could guess who Moe was based on. I thought fir a moment and remembered that in one episode someone called him "An ugly hate filled little man" and instantly thought of Rich Hall.
That earned me a "Nobody likes a smart@r$e" from my friend.
Would love to see a live action recast of family guy and south park
What abt Jerry Jones as Mr burns would be better
Enjoying these casting videos. Some good choices there.
Fun fact: mr burns was based off of a teacher that used to teach at the school I go too, the same school Matt groening went to
Jason Sudeikis as Ned Flanders
OMG DO SHREK YOU WOULD ACE IT
I can't imagine how terrible a live action simpsons would be, but I've still enjoyed these videos.
I'd love to see Steve Buscemi as Moe
Sir Ian McKellen as Mr. Burns.
Bill Gates is a real life Mr. Burns.
John lithgow as Mr Burns
The simsons characters all
my picks
Drew Scheid - Nelson
I could see Joel David Moore pulling off Frink, in the glasses and lab coat.
Spot On Picks. :)
Re-cast Teen titans but all the characters have to not be sauce
You should cast a live action Red Dead Redemption movie
Orlando Jones as Carl...
Ned...William H Macy
Moe (your choice fits more looks-wise)...Norm McDonald (RIP)
Principal Skinner...Vince McMachon
Milhouse (grown up)...Geoffrey Zakarian
An actor I always felt was born to play Chief Wiggum was the late Kenneth McMillan, who famously played the Baron Harkonnen in the 1984 Dune but who played cops a couple of times in the likes of the 1974 ‘the taking of Pelham 123’ & the 1979 ‘Salem’s Lot’ he would’ve been spot on.👌
Eugene Levi’s son could be a great Smithers, i mean he’s already gay and he could play like he want to be straight, i can find that so hilarious i thought
I always got the strong feeling that Moe, and the bar patrons of his bar were a parody of Ted Danson, and the cast of Cheers. The Simpsons premiered when Cheers was still on the air after all.
Just because Disney owns Simpsons now is no reason to encourage them in this idiotic surge of live action remakes of animated classics.
Mate Gday from down under. Youve got this squared away for sure. The actors youve picked are going to work extremely well.
However (yep you get notes LOL), 1. Make up will be everything. 2. Some of these actors are Hollywood heavy hitters, so youd have to make sure they can dial it down and work with the writers in creating the cartoon character like they stepped out of the cartoon itself.
Mate if i had a lazy 100 million laying around id fund a live action Simpsons fof sure
My only problem with your casting is I feel you should take into consideration money and If the actors would have the schedule
Rich Hall is perfect as Moe, I think Tim Blake Nelson would be a great Lenny, and Philip Seymour Hoffmans character from Big Lebowski would have been a perfect Smithers.
Norm MacDonald (RIP) as Moe
Jack Black as Barney
Don Cheadle as Carl
Paul Rudd as Lenny
Robert Duvall as Mr Burns
Andy Dick as Smithers
???
I am not agree hundred per cent about your choose, but all they are nice. ( The better part was I saw in a bus stop an old gentlemen that looks exactly as Mr. Burns... man, that was fantastic... but unfortunatelly I can't stop and said - Hey you mister, I want to film you ´cause you look like an american cartoon!!!- He never understood it... and with no zoom action cam I am a very suspicious guy... every one say to me I have an image of a low-brow burglar... sad)
Charles Dance was cool in "The Golden Child" My DEAR brother Numsbe had a great trenchcoat!
But Steve Buscemi might be a good pick for Mr. Burns as well.
Charles Tyner IS Mr. Burns. If you've seen him in Hamburger the motion picture in a white suit giving a speech you'd swear you were looking at Mr. Burns. The voice, movement and look is Burns all the way.
Gotta disagree about Dance for Mr burns. He has way too much presence and gravitas. Scary and evil, yep in aces, but I can't see him as inept and basically helpless, which is what makes burns work.
Love rich hall for moe though.
Ah this is perfect watching for a Sunday evening after a roast chicken dinner with a glass of red wine. Nice easy watching 👍
Smithers always gave me biracial vibes for some reason. Maybe the haircut 🤔. I’m also mixed, and gay. so maybe I was projecting myself onto a cartoon character? I’ll see myself out.
One person I may want to see as Mr.Burns is Michael Keaton. As Batman, he played an eccentric billionaire convincingly, and on a variety of films and shows he played a lot of characters that have Mr.Burns’s villainous and creepy side. I think Keaton would be perfect for the part.
Duff man could be John Cana or Chris hemensworth ( I can’t spell)
