    Hi, I love this video! I want to use a course that I have created to publish a devotional. Does that sound like something I can do through Lulu?

      Hi @gigipace6399! Thank you for tuning in! You can absolutely publish a devotional on Lulu. That sounds like a great way to support your course. Our pricing calculator is a good place to start: www.lulu.com/pricing

      You won't be sorry you did! Always a good idea to take the time and review a proof copy before making your books available for sale. Best of luck!

    I'm seriously considering using Lulu to publish a novel I've already written (and getting nowhere with normal Agent/ Publisher routes, and don't want to get into all the time-consuming hassle of building my own social media and following for self-publishing) . But I've just turned 70 so I'm not looking to start a new career as an Author - but I do have several ideas for other books. I've completed the work in Word A5 single-spaced format (with pdf generated). I'm also something of a graphic artist and have completed a cover design for the book. Do I have to to split my book into interior and cover files? Will I have to use the Cover Designer to upload my cover design? In general, what's the best way for me to go about making the best of Lulu with aproduct I have already completed (but not published anywhere yet)?

    • @luludotcom
      @luludotcom  4 месяца назад

      Hi @timconstable7348! Thanks for tuning in! Yes, to publish on Lulu you will need two PDF files - one for your interior and one for your cover. If you create your cover outside of Lulu, you can just drag and drop it into the publishing platform just like your interior file.
      When it comes to distribution, you can sell through the Lulu Bookstore, Global Distribution (this will list your project on Amazon, Ingram, Barnes & Noble, etc) or through your own website using Lulu Direct.
      I would start by uploading your project and ordering a proof copy to make sure everything looks perfect. From there, you can decide how to distribute.

    When you say global distribution, does that mean online only or does it mean online and in physical stores?

    • @luludotcom
      @luludotcom  7 месяцев назад

      Hi @christinawhisler! Thank you for tuning in! We distribute to Ingram, meaning the book is available for bookstores to order. If you would like a specific bookstore to carry your book, we recommend reaching out to them directly to ask about their requirements. This video has a bit more info on getting your book into bookstores: ruclips.net/video/Rrw1LQgRty0/видео.html

    HI, thanks for the video. I have a book formatted and cover design finished. How will Lu Lu promote my book in the global market? Thanks

      Hi @shimonandmeghan2563! Thank you for tuning in! Lulu can help you publish the book, but we don't offer any promotional packages at this time. We do, however, have several free resources on our blog, podcast and youtube channel about marketing to help you sell more books and reach new readers.
      You can find out blog here: blog.lulu.com/

    Wasn't "publish, print and prosper" a line from Star Trek (or at least it should be!) 😀🖖 #BeingCheeky
    Actually considering Lulu for my next book, so this video was actually helpful. I just need to check if I already have a Lulu account (created one in 2013 but did nothing with it so not sure if it still exists!)! 😀

    Hi, when using the pricing calculator, does the number of pages refer to how many pages in a standard 8.5x11 Word doc, or how many pages in the Word doc once it's formatted to the desired book size (6x9, for example)?

    • @luludotcom
      @luludotcom  7 месяцев назад

      Hi @jeffg.3250! Thank you for tuning in! The number of pages refers to the final number of pages in the trim size that you choose. If you are working in an 8.5x11 Word Doc but would like to ultimately publish a 6x9 trim size, we would recommend selecting that trim size and entering in a page size you think will be close to your final page count. That way our pricing calculator can provide interior and cover file templates you can use to format your files and upload your project successfully.

      @@luludotcom Thank you. My only other question, which I posted in your other video, is that when I paste my manuscript into your template, it overrides your settings for margins, etc. I may just have to format my own original manuscript instead of using your template. Also, the template for your 6x9 sized book has the paper size set to 6.25x9.25. Not sure if that's a mistake or it's supposed to be that way.

    • @luludotcom
      @luludotcom  7 месяцев назад

      Hi @jeffg.3250! If you are using MS Word, here's a link to our guide on how to set your margins without using our templates. The papersize in the templates is sized to account for bleed, and we would recomment you do the same if setting your own margins.

      @@luludotcom Hi, yes I've seen that link before but it says nothing about margins, gutter, indents, headers, footers, etc. It only mentions paper size (mine is non-bleed so I'd go with 6x9). The Lulu Book Creation Guide does address gutters, but it's still not clear. Think what I'll do is use another tutorial to help format Word docs for book printing, and then manually adjust the margins, gutter, and page settings to what you have them set as in your template. It'd be easier to copy and paste but it's just not working. Thanks.
