    Mom used to wash all her cuts and hydrogen peroxide before putting on bandages. There was methylate but that hurt too much. My grandfather used to water it down and use it as mouthwash

      ​@@Tatusiek_1My experience has been the opposite. My dad had a cut on his thumb that was taking forever to heal, like weeks. But I recommended cleaning it with Hydrogen Peroxide and it worked and healed up within a couple days.

Hydrogen peroxide also kills normal cells within the wound - including healthy skin cells and immune cells - and slows blood vessel formation, all of which are important for wound healing

      @@Tatusiek_1 that’s kind of true but kind of not true. You use peroxide at the initial point of contamination. Then add the bandage. If you keep using peroxide then yes it can delay the healing process because it can damage the new cells that are repairing the cut. But it’s perfectly fine and definitely recommended to use peroxide to clean wounds on initial contact before bandaging.

    I'd like to see videos where germs from swabbing household surfaces are grown in Petri dishes then shown under a microscope before and after adding bleach, peroxide, vinegar, etc. I would also like to see mold grown in a Petri dish and displayed before and after adding bleach, etc. It would be really helpful to determine whether or not internet claims of certain products actually kill those bacteria or not.

    I use 50/50 water and hydrogen peroxide to clean my aquarium plants when they come in the mail to get rid of bacteria and parasites...just let it sit for 20 minutes, rinse with tap water and plant it in your tank. It also kills any snail eggs which often come with aquarium plants

    My boyfriend/daughters dad , his dad is a chemist and he said that hydrogen kills germs really well when the pandemic was going on and alcohol was so hard to find… they use these steamer type things with hydrogen peroxide in it to decontaminate rooms of certain things.

    Yeah, hydrogen peroxide is H2O2. Although in the bottles you get at the pharmacy it's 3% H2O2 and 97% water. The oxidation reaction looks something like 2H2O2 + oxidant -> 2H2O + O2

      @@meatballman9745 I use it on my hands as I have eczema and my hands breakout which results in dry skin that become dead skin, and your hands are covered in more germs than anywhere else on your body. I use it to evenly remove the dead skin before rinsing and applying moisturizer. It definitely helps.
