could you set up some led strip lighting around the roof. don't forget to put in your emergency kit, especially your radios and extra cables for your devices.
you have a great environment for snakes in that trailer, but the current weather you're enduring simply means that the ground is too wet and their looking for a safe dry place. the snakes need only enough space to fit its head. so, any gap even in flooring means it could get in. best thing to do around the henhouse is to use qtr. inch mesh buried into the ground the perimeter of the house, and for the moveable put it down as flooring.
you'll need to erect a shelter for the vehicles and machinery. if you put up a tin roof strengthen it with some ply underneath and then run a second sheet as a ceiling. this will help to reduce any breakthrough of larger stones.
congrats to Hayden on getting her permit.

Storage container for ALL VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS. Don't forget your purse/wallet with all those docs either just in case the roof gets blown off of house and gets scattered out of house and on your land. Think anything extremely important to save. When we lived in trailer for 15 years over Texas, OK, my dad taught us to open all windows in cars and ALL in the house, including front/back doors to let the pressure of the tornado flow through. Just think if the house top blew off then WHAT in your house SHOULD YOU HAVE SAVED.

You are dealing with what I was a few weeks ago. FOUR of those big black snakes in my garage and yes they were breeding. 😮
I live in the woods too. 😬

Just hang a string of clear Christmas lights around the shelter and they won't pull much power from the generator but give you and the girls plenty of light.

Our magnetic poles are in the process of reversing. As I understand it, things are progressing a smig faster than expected. So, apparently, buckle up for the next few years. Pray it takes a long time to happen because a quick reversal would make a tornado a fond memory.

Born in Wisconsin & living in Green Bay, Wi for most of my life. This is the worst year for severe storms/tornadoes. You can keep those dang snakes - yikes! I’d spray their tails to make sure they’re not repeat
visitors. I think you need to release them further from your property.

This farm has many pets…2 PIGS … 2 PONIES …. 2 German shepherds … 1 tiny doggy … 1 guard dog … 1-2 cats… a peacock … ducks …., but among this menagerie the CHICKENS are the the only item to provide food by laying eggs.. but not for meatconsuming. No formal garden, just a few containers with veggies. But they own a creek property that demands the man of the family time and care. I’m so glad the house they’ve built is about finished. Dutch keeps the equipment all serviced too. A lot going on with this site. 😅

This weather is not normal for Texas either and many other states. These are the weirdest moving storm also. We get tornados also but that and the winds too.

We had a similar thing happen to us, when giving away eggs… the kids missed a few eggs a broody hen had been sitting on and later collected them not knowing, our friend cracked a rotten egg into her frying pan. She declined all future offers of eggs, can’t say I blame her!

With Racer Snakes that is what your black snakes are, they will be back your property has too many areas of good eating finds. It is a solitary snake except during breeding/ hatching a clutch of eggs. It is recommended that they be relocated at least 10 miles away. Also note that they can move up to 3.5 mph when trying to get away from danger/ humans. They will strike if threatened and it will not feel good. It hurts a lot and the biggest concern would be infection from the bite, also the possibility that some of the teeth stay under your skin. Racers are most active during daylight/hot weather and yes they are known to eat copper heads but not as often nor will they keep a large area free of copper head snakes. Stay smart and alert for snakes, wether in the trees or on the ground. ✌🕯💗

if you want to know if the same snakes are coming back after relocating them, get a spray can of livestock marking paint or marking stick. It won't hurt them and you will know if the same ones keep coming back. The white duck is a indian runner duck, that is normal to stand upright. There is a vineyard in Italy I think that use them, they have a video on RUclips.
