I just picked up the core rulebook a few months back. I was really struck by the quality, beauty and difference. I imagine I’ll be getting several of these supplements.

When I returned to RPGs a little more than two years ago after a gap of about 25yrs, I had hoped that this time around, I would be able to get into Glorantha. I've invested a lot in that time (for my budget), with all the books up to now, but while I don't doubt the quality and content, the decision to make this one important component of the game a 10 book product, occupying two years of the publication schedule, and clocking in at more than £300, has led me to sadly draw a line. The message I get is that Glorantha is still a game for those with deeper pockets than me.
I wish them the best with this, I really do--Chaosium is a company that has returned to greatness and has a special place in many hearts, and Glorantha is an extraordinary creation, but I'll continue to support them with purchases for Call of Cthulhu. I have my piggy bank full and ready for the release of Gaslight.

I totally get it. No one has unlimited funds. This will no doubt appeal most to players playing within a single specific pantheon, GMs limiting their games to specific cults, or to hard core collectors with funds. I sure as heck don't have unlimited funds! Thanks for posting about your priorities. Gaslight is at the tippy top of my list as well!

I don't think that most playing groups will need more than 2-3 of these. Parties tend to cluster around 1 or 2 pantheons

As I am will have no spot for it till 2nd half next year, I look forward to just get all Gods Books together hehe.
Didnt remember that Lodril was the father of Ernalda. Why does it say "none" for Babeester Gor?
btw the Grain example is so good and interesting, makes me hungry for the Aldrya one. (one can only imagine the new art depictions of the elves once we get to that book at one point)

I think because Babeester Gor is one of those Goddesses that just sprung out of somewhere?❓

When Ernalda was killed/asleep in the Gods War, Babeester Gor sprang from her corpse. She has no father, her only parent is Ernalda.

Part of me wants to pick up everything for RuneQuest. The other part of me looks at my dusty wallet and my empty gaming table...

I feel you fam. I definitely have my priorities! This means that there are basically some companies and lines that I have to just ignore. A common "problem!" ;P

Just get the core rules, plus the pantheon book for your party/character. Then Guide to Glorantha
