20$ is a price they spend per meal on there country in my opinion its like showing other tourist even on this SL its easy to survive with few dollars
To survive and that is it. To have a good meal (I mean not even organic, and something except rice), just oats, pasta, fruites, meat, vegetables like tomato, cucumber are more expensive in Sri Lanka than in the nearest asian counties or even Europe countries
Nice video. As a local I can list the average cost for a single traveller in December 2022 in Sri Lanka:
Breakfast 300/-
Transport: 800/-
Lunch: 700/-
Entry tickets etc. for a local: 1,500/-
Snacks: 500/-
Dinner: 1,000/-
Total: Approx. 5,000/-
This is not a tight budget at all. But of course not an expensive end either.

used to be cheaper. those prices are almost doubled as if before
@@neminezz fr it was wayyy more cheaper before. After the crisis the prices went up but it’s slowly reducing though so maybe after like 4-10 months the prices will go down even more than the prices were before the crisis
As a sri Lankan it might be cheap for foreigners but for us it is expensive as we were not used to having the prices being doubled and life was so better before 2020

Arugumbay, Nuwaraeliya also is beautiful places to visit in SL

Yes Arugumbay, Nilawelly, and Pasikudah are very beautiful beaches..... And in Nuwaraeliya you can have the feeling of that you are in England.... Have the experience of different climate conditions of this tiny island.
Nice gesture at the end. If you want the Christmas feeling anywhere in SL, Colombo would be the place especially with the high number of churches. Negombo with a high Catholic population would be next, but it seems you guys are heading south for Xmas.

Here's an Idea for a short food review video:
Buy different kinds of buns from 2 or 3 takeaway outlets. Check them based on the filling comparing the outer shape.
For example:
Circular: Non filled bun
2 corners: Vegetable bun
3 corners: Fish bun
4 corners: Chicken bun
Etc.
I can't recommend throwing away leftovers at this economic situation. So if you do such video, perhaps you can feed leftovers to a stray animal (or a bird) after the video.

BTW, it’s good to be careful when you are in places like Hikkaduwa (down south) and Colombo, unlike the rural SriLankan folks, who are very honest and genuine, you often bump on to not so honest people.

Hi Luke and Naomi Ari Lanka is in debt to the tune of $60 billion and has no foreign reserves to pay back debt due to mismanagement and other reasons They had go to IMF for a loan The condition for the loan was devalue the rupee which is very bad for the local people great for tourists I was born in Sri Lanka and living in the US and have Irish Roots from colonial times Sri lanka is still a beautiful country which is not overdeveloped I am glad you are visiting and making a economic contribution and having a good time Cheers mates

This is what our political leaders has done for us (Locals) 😪😪 i mean dollars is going high means if you earning from dollars you can spend money here as a king but other site of this local rupees going down means if earning from rupees even not enough this days earning to spend normal day to day expenses too

You missed the first Rio place in Jaffna( Nallur). Rio is owned by a Jaffna guy who had some mobile ice cream vehicles at the start and eventually became the owner of the Ice cream shops on the island. However, you made it!
Yes! We wanted to go there in Jaffna but unfortunately didn’t find the time ❤️ this Rio ice cream was amazing though ❤️

We landed at BIA 😇. Flight delayed, the usual thing UL 607 Usually Late, ha-ha. Bought a SIM 50GB Rs 2200, Taxi cab (big van from Airport authority managed taxi counter) to Colombo suburb Rajagiriya for Rs 9500.00, gave the nice driver a tip of 500.00, Toll way fee Rs 250.
About the lodge, in a leafy garden, large air con room (bedding for 3-4) attached bath, large sitting lounge and kitchen, common but all for ourselves these days, ha-ha. Free wifi common washing machine, fridge, kettle, gas cooker and utensils, all for Rs 7000 per day. A real bargain.
