Thank you, Nigel you are very kind. I am pleased you are enjoying the videos and I promise you will see at lest 2 videos a week from me. If you have any suggestions of what I should do next, particularly for Christmas, I would be indebted to you. All I ask is for everyone who likes the channel to share a video with 2 friends and I will be at the magic 1000 subscribers much sooner.

Thank you ever so much, Annabel. I feel exceptionally humbled by your kind comment in that I put so much effort into each video - my ADHD prevents me from doing less I fear - and I am so so pleased you enjoyed the videos. If you like Parkin, you might enjoy my next video as soon as it completes rendering - it looks like it might take 4 hours to complete! I think I need a new PC but that has to wait until I either win the lottery or get about 5000 subscribers, both of which are wildly unlikely. I have been trying out some new features of Davinci Resolve and one can never be totally sure that they will work in the finished video.

Thank you Nikki! I look forward to the Parkin video; being a southerner, i’ve not yet had the fortune of trying it but I as a fan of ginger cake I think I would love it! Perfect for bonfire night 🔥

Consider investing in the Rotisserie attachment for your Hysappiena .
    Rotisserie chicken 😋
'Backyard Chef' did rotisserie stuffed pork. Nice!

I got into buying a HYSapientia after watching Rik on his channel and I have not looked back except one of the bulbs has blown after only about a month. The dual oven model I have came with the rotisserie attachment and I did a video on it here: ruclips.net/video/i6mCCgn0j8U/видео.html. In fact, I got the HYSa for that one feature really since as a kid I enjoyed standing looking through butchers' windows at the chickens being cooked on them. Needless to say, my mum would never buy one citing the cost compared to cooking a chicken from scratch.
Rik does some great things with his HYSa - well, he does some great things with anything he is given in the kitchen tbh - he is a star. I was wondering about doing a pork loin on the rotisserie a few weeks ago and I recall seeing Rik do the stuffed pork and it has given me come confidence to try it. So who knows, I might end up doing that myself soon for when my daughter comes over for Sunday lunch. You can imagine though, she would prefer me not filming the cooking but time and ingredients cost money and I cannot cook stuff only to throw it away - the acquired Yorkshireness of being in York for 52 years forbids it hahaha.
I saw HYSa also do a rotating basket - you put your frozen or home-prepared uncooked chips in it and it rumbles them around. I couldn't afford the £20 that they wanted for it and I saw the identical one on AliExpress (my addiction replacement for chocolate lol) for only £6 delivered, so I ordered one and I have to say, the chips/fries come out wonderfully from the 'rumbler'.

Looks lovely, and good luck to Smoke Bros. Good review Nikki. I would definitely try them on the back of this review as a one off. I say one off as unfortunately I have to agree with you, it's a tad pricey in my opinion. £18.00 for a main course I want to sit down. Thanks for sharing Nikki, once again enjoyable vid 😆

The pulled pork fries looked delicious. The burger for me would have to leave off the blue cheese 🤢. I would add tomato, onion and lettuce to the burger to go along with the pumpkin relish. Great job on the review.

Great idea!! I think you are right. The burger and bun were both very good sizes and the blue cheese and the pumpkin were delicious. The lettuce, tomato and onion would have taken it one step further. I have been following Smoke Bros on Facebook since we both are based in York and I have to say, their menu has grown greatly in terms of range and choice of fillings recently and their new meals are looking incredible so I reckon I shall have to go back there in the New Year.

@ I live in a fairly small town, Marble Falls, Texas, population 8,395. I wish we could get some decent eateries here in town. I refuse to drive an hour into Austin just to eat. Anyway prices for eating out have gotten too high. Now that I have my Ninja Woodfire grill Pro XL, I will be cooking more food and saving money.

@@DLBass-op2ib I confess to having just had a quick look on Google Maps Street view of Marble Falls and you guys have a lot of lovely countryside around you and massive open space and parks around the Colorado river (?), I wandered down some of the smaller roads out of town in street view and the vegetation reminds me a lot of parts of France. I have never been to the USA but with google street view you can always see places so long as there is a road and Google's vehicles have been down there.
Do I take it that tourism is important where you live? Don't the big hotels have decent restaurants then?

There is no doubt that Dane is producing an excellent burger offer and it is early days for him and he will eventually find his feet within the next 6 months and he will certainly change his business model to his and our benefit. He deserves to succeed and I will be going back in about 6 months to see how his menu has changed. I expect great things from Dane and Smoke Bros in the future !

When I know I am going to have to spend a bit more on buying a takeaway to film on the channel, I tend to hold back on eating much that day, so when it comes round to actually eating the food purchased, generally I am ravenously hungry.
Indeed, that meal I got 7 days ago and apart from 2 apples, I hadn't eaten all day. So you can imagine my overly large tummy was crying out "Feed me, Feed me".
I cannot imagine ever doing a video strand like "Beard meets Food" these days though.

Interestingly, in 1974 when I was at Uni I did student television and we had this crazy idea to run a KFC eating competition and even managed to get the local KFC outlet to provide all the chicken. There were, I think 8 contestants, one for each of the 6 colleges, one representing graduates and me representing the Student Union - I was Ents Chair at the time.
The pieces were all enormous - clearly 50% bigger than normal pieces - and I managed to eat 11 of them in I think an hour. I came 3rd. The winner was an American guy on a uni exchange who managed 21 pieces !!!!
The prize of course was a free 10 piece bucket of KFC and when asked what he was going to do next, Jim said he was off to KFC for his 10 piece bucket.
It made great student television and our compere was another York undergrad, Colin Gilbert who went on to head up the great comedies of the late 70s onwards coming out of Scotland including A Kick Up the 80s, Naked Video and Rab C Nesbitt to name 3.
