The players for the Everett AquaSox (Class A short-season for the Mariners) said Robbie Cano was super nice to them while he was rehabbing there getting ready to come back from his 80 game suspension. Bought them great food and was willing to help anybody. And hit a grand slam to dead centerfield.

Most of major league players I encountered were cool. I tried to leave them alone because they have their program they need to work on, but I don't recall any being a jerk.
The mind boggles as to why the food has to be bad in the minors. Minor league ballparks are full of kitchens making food. You'd think they'd have an allowance for the players and could have the concessions whip out some reasonably nutritious chow for the guys before they close up shop for the night. Doesn't even have to be individual orders but it could. At least in Akron (AA), they have so many options that you could accommodate pretty much any diet. You'd think the big club could set aside an allowance and feed both teams as long as the other team reciprocates.
Have you ever been to a minor league park? I can assure you they are most definitely NOT “full of kitchens” lmfaooo what a weird and misinformed thing to say 😂😂😂
Kept his two fingers tight up against each other, and had a way for the ball to just slide out from the side that maintained enough velocity to somehow remain a fastball without becoming a slider or a curve. Somehow, for one magical day, I managed to figure it out in highs school. And I wasn't even a pitcher. I was an infielder.who switched from 2nd to 1st. Just playing catch with the catcher, and somehow I started throwing nasty two-seamers. It was weird how well it clicked. I knew exactly how to grip and release the ball, and it was so effortless. Never was able to do it again after that day. All I know, is that I had my index and middle fingers touching and kinda flicked it out from the side of my index finger. I think I "rolled" my fingers around it out of a tight grip as I released it. But for the life of me, I never could figure out exactly what I was doing that day. My team mate, the catcher, thought I was working on trying to convert into a pitcher my junior year. Lol. Same thing happened when I was playing volleyball for a volleyball club in college. Yeah, a club. Not a team. I had figured out how to serve properly, and it was a deadly serve. Perfectly coordinated and timed, buzzing above the net by like an inch. Lasted for a few days. After that, I never was able to properly serve a volleyball again. And I was irritated because I thought I had developed a new skill that I could bring to the beach that year and show off. Haha.
So who decides when you're ready to come back up after an injury? Or just in general? It seems like the AAA coach would say to the MLB coach "no, this guy's terrible" to keep his team strong. Who's watching? I know sometimes the stats will be a guide, but sometimes it's only like 2-3 games, so if you're hitting 1 for 3 one game...you're great? ready to move up? just ok? lucky???
I saw Jamie Garcia on a rehab once with the Cardinals low A team the Peoria Chiefs. My buddy and I could tell that the catcher was not ready for a big league pitcher. Jamie even had to give him a pep talk. So many balls at the backstop. It’s also crazy to see the night and day difference between the minor league guys and major league/guys who will make the majors.
How do you feel about loyalties to a team in or a team to a player in free agency? How do players choose their team or why do they pick a certain team?
I feel like talent is big but big league clubs also look for good men who will fit in their clubhouse culture. There is a reason guys aren't jerks when they're rehabbing, I'd assume most of them are pretty good people.

ThaKidd PaulieB that wasn’t the problem. Outside of when they messed up his stance, Matt went 11-37 which is .305 (outside of the 0-21 skid) he just had a bad hitting coach. He changed his stance after that hit and there was nothing he could do about it

Hahaha I grew up watching colon pitch for the Angels. He became my favorite halo pitcher. His 2 seamers were freaking nasty, especially left handed batters. Always froze them up for the K!!!!! Hahahahaha that’s so freaking awesome Matt! Thanks for sharing that dope ass story man.
He was disgusting with Cleveland when I was growing up. He would throw his normal fastball in the upper 90s until he got up around 100 pitches and then he'd just start wailing the ball at 101-102. It was unreal. The speed on the gun isn't always perfect I know, but to gain 4mph when you're 6-7 innings deep is unbelievable. Plus he was just a goofy guy. They bought him a pink banana seat bike to ride around spring training one year to help him lose weight. Also, he just signed to pitch for a team in Mexico this year at 46. He's for sure in my hall of fame. Julio Franco too.
Hey what’s up matt! In the movie Bull Durham the catcher tells the hitter what’s coming because he doesn’t like the pitcher. Does that really happen? Like if an infielder has beef with a pitcher will they mess up on purpose when getting a ball hit to them?
Hey matt, can you give us a viedo on the MLB non salary cap disparity. Really like a players inside view. Being a A's fan. Watching the Yankees buy players every year frustrating. But would like an inside view

I had one of those brief case things my last year of pro ball in the California league. As a pro ball player and a gamer, it was a God send
Colon had that running fastball on right-handers that made him effective even up to age 45. I always wondered how he did that.
Kept his two fingers tight up against each other, and had a way for the ball to just slide out from the side that maintained enough velocity to somehow remain a fastball without becoming a slider or a curve.
