Bro, you may not be a HOFer, but your stories are the best. Captivating.
His personality comes off as a huge jock, but the stories are still riveting. I don't WANT to come back watching, but here I am. He's got some great stories, indeed. I love 'em. I don't want to, but here I am. I just wish he contributed to my Yankees! lol Cheers, mate! and Cheers, Matt!
Sean Balogh you want to be here and you know it.
Dude, I could listen to this guy all day. 20 minute videos go by like it's nothing.
Absolutely. He should definitely write a book; or two.
He is hall of famer in my book
Part of me suspects Nike had something to do with this...
I too have been a victim of glove theft. It hurts more than being hit with a pitch.
The Island Division I hate Nike
Stealing someone’s glove is a crime against humanity.
Especially a glove you used for years and spent so much time breaking it in perfectly 😔
So, Matt Bush's glove made it's MLB debut before he did!
Yes it did!! lol. Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
hhahahahahhahahgahahahahhhaa
swiped your homerun ball. now your gloves. some disliked you in the clubhouse.
Mark Liter
Also messed with his swing right after 1st ab hit off of A Great.
@@CSDonohue11 very shrewd observation.
Have a good weekend.
Aaron Anderson 👍 Thank you Sir.
Likewise.
He lost his HR ball???
Reliablethreat yeah they took it to get it inscribed and never gave it back to Matt. Pretty infuriating.
Don’t touch my glove or my wife. In that order. Don’t tell my wife.
100k! Big time buddy. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Congrats on 100k. Such a great channel you deserve it
Matt, I just found your channel about a week ago and have been binge watching it. You have a great self-effacing personality and are an excellent story teller. I just love hearing you talk. I don't remember you being a Yankee (sorry) but I probably cheered for you at a game.
You’re channel is so cool I wish more Former or even current MLB players did this like you do
Your
He does have a pretty cool Channel with interesting music but the problem I have is that he was only in the major league for 28 days. A lot of his videos are on his so-called experience in the major leagues which just wasn't very much
@@shoesmostwanted Sometimes he says that. But if somebody didn't check out his background, they would think that he was this established major leaguer.
Mark who cares? Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Also he played in a ton of mlb spring training games. He’s not lying, he played in the majors. Idk if it’s a ridiculous amount of jealousy or a need to feel right, but you come off as a petty bitter asshole when you comment stuff like this.
Mark Dobkin He has more experience than 99.99 percent of people who have played baseball in their lifetimes. Also, AAA is pretty much the majors as far as talent goes.
Just started watching your channel the other day, and I am absolutely hooked. This is probably my 100th video. Great content, truly unique and amazingly insightful. Thanks for doing this.
Thanks so much!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Happy to be a subscriber. Thank you for your work Matt!
By the way go Phillies
Thanks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Love to see someone man up and get your glove back to you. Thnx for the story Matt..
I like the personal stories, this one is up there, below the Reggie Jackson, but up there...GREAT content!! Gratz on 100K💪🏾🔥💪🏾🔥
Haha thanks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Antonelli, I love the game of baseball. Therefore I dig your vids because they respect the game and inform us fans. You are an ambassador for the sport, and a good influence on the kids learning play from you.
Thanks!!!! Thank you for watching our stuff and commenting!
you honestly have the best stories, so interesting to hear
Aww man, he is still hoping he might get it back some day.
Yeah its pretty sad to watch
Let's do it, internet! Let's find Matt Antonelli's Matt Bush original Rawlings glove!
Casey Michel I know
Sean Balogh bat boy probably took it more then likely
Well, Matt, the good news is the Padres won the game you played with your backup glove 10-3, so that's great. Unfortunately you went 0-3, but at least y'all won. I can't find if you made any plays in the field, but I'm sure you helped contribute to the win! Love the great work, keep it up! If you ever make it to MA, hit me up and we'll go to a Cape Cod Baseball League game and see the stars of tomorrow, man! Love it.
Thanks so much!!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Glad to hear ya mention kouz in a video. That man can straight out rake. I remember when he was in AA Akron and he was hitting around .400 for the season. Not to mention he is also a hell of a nice guy.
No doubt!!! Thank you for watching our stuff and commenting!
I remember seeing your blank glove in Arizona at the spring training facility. It is still my favorite glove I have ever seen. I thought it was so cool that Rawlings took off all their branding for you.
Same hitting coach took it that wanted to mess with your swing right after getting a BH off Maddux.
YEESH!
Btw I’m catching another Padres game June 2nd Vs Miami.
Meeting my Grandparents there in SD for the Game.
Awesome have fun!!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I feel your pain, Matt. I was 13, tall and gangly, left handed and had a weak arm. Most coaches would stick me in right field and all of us hope the ball never got hit to me, but I'd be bored in right, get distracted and then misplay anything that did come out there until one day I got home and on the stairs was a new glove like I had never seen before and I took it over to my dad and said, "what's this" and he pointed at me and said, "Craig, you're gonna be a first baseman". Impossible I was scared to play infield too, but once I actually got that first base mit on my hand it was like I was a Marvel superhero. I could scoop and pick it like crazy! My confidence even spread to my hitting and I made the Pony League All Star team. Played with that glove all through high school and one night after we'd won district for the very first time ever--I put it on the roof of my car as we were celebrating in the parking lot...and I drove off without remembering it was up there. It was a Rawlings too.
I love the videos Matt. Keep it up!
Thanks!!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I love how your logo is either the Vandy logo with an A or the old Astros logo sideways
Congratulations on 100k subscribers Matt!
Thank you!!!!
Congrats on 100k!!!!
Thanks Joseph!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Really a bummer your best friend (glove) grew legs. I think I can relate to you the way a ground ball just kind of finds the glove and just sticks rite in that sweet spot so you know exactly where it is every time. Thanks Matt.
I've got an old Ken Griffey model Rawlings that was my glove through my little league days, and then while in the Air Force I got a Mizuno glove for intramurals ball and have loved it ever since! (I can catch up to 3 balls in this 14 inch glove at once, comes in handy coaching kids in little league...) I totally understand falling in love with a piece of equipment that helps that much.
Absolutely!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I have a question. I am a catcher and I’m finding that the sometimes when I catch it bends my thumb and it’s hurts. Am I doing something wrong with receiving or what?
Imagine right after watching this video you see his glove up for sale on eBay.
Haha! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
CONGRATZ On 100k!
Thanks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I don’t think I’ve watched as many videos on a single channel as this one. Amazing stuff
Thanks Spencer!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Matt, you got to show your man cave. Those jerseys look cool
Will do!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Idea for a video: When players are called up or traded, what is the deal on their housing/accommodations in the new city? Does the team have own a team condo/house or does the team put them in a hotel for a certain amount of time? Is there an assistant with the team who helps find a place for the new player to eventually rent or purchase?
I do have a video that covers that. I can’t remember what it’s called though. Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Such a sad story. Gratz on 100k. Next video retell mlb homerun ball story?
Thanks!!! And I’m not sure of the exact model of the glove.
I forgot my large black Wilson glove at the field. It worked good for softball and baseball. I miss it
That stinks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
congrats on 100k Matt!
Thanks!!!!
Congrats on the 100k.
Thanks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Congrats on 100k!
Thanks!!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I used the same Rawlings glove that my brother had used for four years prior from my age 8 year coach pitch to high school. Replaces laces I think just once. Great glove!
Congrats for your 100k suscribers.
Ur story videos are really awesome
Thank you!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Awesome channel been watching it a bunch the past week since finding it. I watched an earlier video about scuffing baseballs and the last game I went to, Tigers vs White Sox, I noticed something that was really weird that I hadn't noticed at a pro game. I don't know if I just never paid attention before or if it was special. The majority of the time when a pitcher for detroit would get a fly out, the ball gets thrown in and thrown around and ends up back to the pitcher, not a new ball. Umps didn't seem to mind at all, It was pretty cold that night, I just figured if the ball had any contact to it, dirt/bat/otherwise, it would have got replaced. Thanks for the time.
Thank you and thanks for sharing!! Thank you for watching our stuff and commenting!
Here's something to add to one of your lists...i started playing as a catcher and since day one if someone called a glove a "Mitt" it was like nails on a chalkboard to me 😖
Congrats man
Thanks!!! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Hey Matt, is that the Matt Bush glove you're using in your wikipedia pic?
This story gave me a good cry. So sad. We should put pictures of lost gloves on milk cartons.
Haha! Thank you for watching our stuff and commenting!
Let’s goooo!!!! 100k!!!!
Let’s gooooo! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I heard once, Bill Buckner didn't have his regular glove when he made "the error" in the 86 world series. I remember reading or hearing that but I can't find any indication of that now. The glove was too flexible and it folded in when he didn't expect it too. The rest is history.
The day you hit your only HR is the saddest day of your baseball career. LOL!
I’ve had the same recurring dream where I made it to the big leagues but can’t seem to find my glove..this reminded me of them lol
Haha that’s a nightmare!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Wilson and Rawlings will still make custom blank gloves. My blank Wilson A2492 from 2005 has completely flaked to base leather. I refuse to replace it until my kid busts the net.
That’s interesting!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
This guy has such a nice personality.
Congrats on 100k
Thank you!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I think Nike paid off one of the clubbies to steal your glove
Haha could have! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
What happened to your gloves you used at Wake and/or the minors? I can totally relate .... I played at U of Maryland and had my ONLY glove stolen. What a miserable experience and it did take about a year before my very new Rawlings was finally broken in. Ughh!!! Worst season ever.
Matt I know how you feel, I am still pissed cause someone stole my most favorite first baseman's glove in 1975 when I was 15. Best glove ever ✌️
the blonde non labelled glove looks so good. i would love to have a glove like that
Reminded me of summer ball after 8th grade waaay back in the late ‘60s. I had a Ted Williams model glove from Sears that was cheaply made but pretty good to use. It vanished after a game and, late in the season, one of my team mates was suddenly wearing a Williams glove that looked similar though it had more pen markings on it. He denied it was mine. By then I had a decent new glove and he was 30 pounds or so bigger so I didn’t pursue it, but definitely felt like he’d violated a code beyond just simple theft if he did take it. Later, when I was coaching, I bought a Nokona from the local sporting goods store that has felt perfect ever since, 30+ years.
Anto another great Video!!!! My glove is my baby !
Thank you!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
4:30 So I put this thing on...and it fit like a glove! lol
I was given a glove by major leaguer Ray Searage. He just said, "Go to my locker and get that glove in there." I did and came back and he told me it was mine. Loved that glove.. a Mizuno. Many years later thing got stolen. Talk about heartbroken. Now I've got a lovely Nokona which is really nice as well. Used to love the A2000's also. Great vid Matt.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Loved Mizuno gloves!
Fun fact: Matt Bush’s first major league win was the infamous game where Jose Bautista got his bell rung by Rougned Odor!
I'd be interested to hear more about the equipment/dugout coordinators. At ballgames I see someone toss the first baseman a ball on the way back to the dugout (so he has one in the glove to toss around before the next inning). Who is that, what other little things don't we see, etc?
Depends really. Sometimes the trainer. Thanks for commenting and watching our stuff!
Definitely a custom made glove without logos. The I web and the thumb on Rawlings glove, the leather is cut out and the logo is set in and sewn in. The leather isn’t cut! Very nice!!
Yes sir! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Matt Bush snuck in and took the glove!!
Uncle Stinky Lol
Criminimanal individual
I get that you are humble but you made it to the SHOW! so obviously you can hit and field pretty decent...I can relate to the glove story. My beloved nokona was ruined because my little brother let his friend use it and he dropped it in a puddle of water!!!
Matt Bush is chill af
Most of the Rawlings gloves these days have a "Made in Philippines' tag on them. I believe they come out of a factory outside of Manila called Tri-Phil International. I'm sure the company has the unbranded versions come directly from there.
Interesting!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our stuff!
Rawlings lover here. I used a Rawlings Pro 1000... BEST GLOVE EVER!!!
Yup!!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
You took me back. I have a process of breaking in a glove that I used to do, to not just mine but teammates, kids that I coached, my kids etc... that took me about a week and they were perfect. My favorite for infield was a McGregor but I would break in all types. I can’t even pass it along now that I’m an old man because so much of what I did was by feel. It would depend on what I needed to do for it to be firm but manageable at the same time. I would use glove oil but also water and even an oven at times, believe it or not, and also thick rubber bands. I can’t even pass it along because I’d have to feel and check the glove to see what it needed. I really did enjoy doing it but it became too much at one time because of word of mouth so many wanted me to do it and I wouldn’t ever charge anyone but when you have 10 or 15 to do at one time it would get very time consuming. I miss doing it. Really enjoy your content Matt. God bless
Congrats on 100k...soon as i subbed went from 97k to 100k😂
Haha love it! Thanks! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Have you ever had a ball rip through your glove? That happened to me in an all star game, by a sharp liner at 3rd. Luckily I had a broken in back up
I haven’t luckily! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Lol Matt Bush probably forgot he gave it to you and took it home wondering why it was out on the bench.
He was released because he killed someone while drunk and driving got signed couple of years later and played with the ranges
That sucks. When I was eight years old, I had my glove stolen in the upper deck at Wrigley. Forgot it after the game, went to the bathroom on the way out, went back up to our seats and it was gone...😢
They don’t even make Nike gloves anymore
Owen Lang they do
Sorry that was my fault, but I haven’t seen anyone use them for like 5 years
The good Japanese stuff they stopped making maybe 4 years ago. They were made by Atoms which makes its own label now. So it may not say Nike on it but it’s the same manufacturer.
I had one and it looked cool but it hurt and the ball just fell out of my glove when I caught a pop fly or when i fielded a grounder
Now I have an a2000 and I love it
It’s been awhile, I have my son watching your channel
Thanks!!! Thank you for watching our stuff and commenting!
wassup matt I really like ur video i have a question, were did you last remember having it, like were did you last hold it in ur HAND
On the field. Thank you for watching our stuff and commenting!
You have the best baseball histories
Thanks!! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Sounds like the padres were a little unorganized tbh. They told you don’t worry it’s here and then it never showed up, kinda weird.
I feel like they just want you out of their hair when you lose something. They say we are sorry and just go back to their business. I have had things stolen and I can totally relate.
The most expensive and rarest gloves on resale market are Nike baseball gloves that are pro issue and Shado Elite J. If you had a longer career, you could have gotten a more sweeter Elite J Nike. And probably sold a custom version for 1,000+ dollars.
Sun King he was a Major League Baseball player he dosent worry about how much his glove sells for
What was your method for breaking a glove in? Just using it? Oven method?
Some nike biz agent probably has that matt bush glove stored away in his garage.
Great video matt!!! I’d hate if I lost my bae 2000
Haha thanks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Great story man!
Thanks!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Rawlings definitely is a better glove.
Great glove for sure!! Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
Should’ve checked the bathroom before the game. I bet someone took a 💩 in the rookie’s glove as a joke. PS. Bush was always very generous. Threw me a $100 poker chip for no reason one time. I almost turned it into $1,600 at the lake Elsinore casino. Put the $800 I won with it on a blackjack hand and ❌🤦♂️ I sold Kluber’s glove on eBay for him. I bet the person never knew. I wonder if they still have it. Worth more now than the couple hundred they paid for it.🤣
Hahaha!
I remember reading that Willie McGee of the Cardinals got mad and threw his glove into the outfield stands because he made an error.
Haha! I wanted to do that a few times! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Did the tan Rawlings glove at least have a tag on the inside?
Nothing! lol. Thanks for commenting and watching our videos!
We gone get you that glove back bro
I have 2 gloves like that, if they ever got damaged at all I would do whatever I could to repair them because I have never dropped a ball with them. One is an old Louisville from the 90s and the other is a newer Rawlings “Gold Glove”
Great gloves!! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
Love the videos I find them so interesting all the minor league/prospect stories
Thank you!!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
great channel
That black nike I web is very rare.
Because it was shit
@@aarons8143 lol
Ive used the same Wilson A2000 since highschool which was 13 years ago. Love it almost as much as my daughter lol
Haha! Thanks for watching our vids and commenting!
My brother has a sad glove story. One of the fathers on my brother’s little league team in 1963 was a producer on the Danny Kaye Show. They were in need of a little league team to go on the show in uniform and sing Take Me Out To The Ballgame. Naturally due to the connection my brother’s team was chosen. This was the premier episode so there were many top celebrities in attendance. My brother got Lucille Ball to sign his mitt. Awesome story. Only thing is instead of locking the mitt up and using a new one he continued using this mitt again. And again. And again. He used it so much the signature eventually wore off. To this day he regrets having played with that mitt. It would have been a gold mine!
Wow that is crazy! Thanks for sharing! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
I was catcher in high school and one year my glove got stolen. I had to use a borrowed first base glove for the rest of the season. I was a passed ball machine for the first few games. I sincerely hope whoever took it can never get the sun out of their eyes
Hahaha! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
100k! Your in the Big leagues now!
Haha thanks!!!!
In high school, I had a Spaulding Dwight Gooden signature glove that I modified I to a Trap-eze. Someone stole it my junior year. At that point, it was just a practice glove, but I am still sad about that one.
Ever since, I only use Rawlings gloves. #FinestInTheField
The worst!! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
Could you do a video about what players do to get out of slumps?
Yes I have a few vids on that in our playlist. Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
A new thumbnail? Hell has frozen over
Haha every now and then! Thanks for commenting and watching our vids!!
